I'm in hospital and trying to get better. Would it be cheeky if I asked if anyone would share the outfit they like the best and how they put it together . I'm 5.6 and a size 16 to 18. I think it would cheer me up give me a different focus

Poor you! I hope you’ll be out soon.

For your entertainment - this has been one of my favourite outfits of the past 10 years.

Coat from Rochas (I didn’t pay full price!). Double sided cashmere, princess line, narrow sleeves, with a very full skirt and fake fur half belt at the back. Bought during a brief period when I was thin enough to make it irresistible.

Skirt from Maison Margiela. (Very fortunate sale buy. I was trying to choose between two and realised how well this one would go with the coat bought a few months before.) Possibly the best skirt I’ve ever owned. Crazy fabric mix making an unutterably beautiful tweed - though when I left it at the only ‘specialist’ dry cleaners in town they phoned me apologetically a few days later to explain that they were not capable. So I doubt it will ever be cleaned.

Jumper from La Fetiche - I adore their clothes, the wild colours of the knitwear and the extreme beauty and craft of the tailoring. Bought four or five years after the other two pieces. The combination of the three makes me hugely joyful. Grin

What are you looking forward to getting dressed for once you’re home?

Dollyparot200 · 21/02/2025 17:21

I think maybe a relaxed meal out still will have some recovery to do

A few people on here use the Whering App to document their outfits. It is time consuming to photograph all your clothes but once you've done that you can mix and match your own items and create your own outfits virtually before wearing them. It can be a really good way of working out what styles and items work for you.

I forgot on Wednesday that I had an after work presentation to attend. Not a problem as everything I wear to the office is fit to be seen in front of clients, but I was very pleased I was wearing this dress (not with a petticoat showing)

It gets so many compliments and it's a joy to wear.

I hope you feel better soon

I wore this for the first time this week for a restaurant lunch. I wore it with long black suede boots. I also have some camel coloured suede boots that it would look good with. The dress fitted beautifully and received lots of compliments. I can see me getting a lot of wear out of it.

My current favourite is a black and white polka dot bias cut skirt that I made myself, worn with a slightly cropped boxy T-shirt from Cos, DMs. I wore it out for dinner this week with a slightly goth/Vicoriana-esque black necklace to lift the T-shirt a bit.

I'm a size 16 OP and have this green velvet jumpsuit from Cider. I've worn it a few times and everyone always comments on how gorgeous it looks. I feel fabulous in it! It's only about £25 ish too so an absolute bargain! Hope you feel much better soon :)

I had a nice lunch with a friend last week and really liked my outfit (which was not fancy compared to others here, but just a different vibe for you):

Leopard print barrel leg jeans from Abercrombie
Mustard sweatshirt from Cos over a white t-shirt so it was showing at the neck
White Adidas Spezial trainers
Long black wool coat from Weekday and red quilted crossbody bag from Cos
Accessorised with gold hoop earrings, several gold necklaces (two initials from Monica Vibader, and an evil eye from Boho Moon) and red lipstick.

Hope you get well soon 🪻🌻💐

Not fashion but I love it: a retro black cotton dress from
Collectif decorated with tiny wild strawberries, plus a blouson-sleeved black cashmere wrap cardigan from Temperley. I feel that the midi length and voluminous sleeves make it juuust about ok for 2025.

Feel a bit more current in: a very dark green leather midi wrap skirt (M&S!) with a slightly lighter green silk turtleneck jumper from Purificacion Garcia.

Both outfits have pockets 😁 and came from vinted/ebay

henlake7 · 21/02/2025 23:06

Love abit of Vinted!😁
My favourite outfit at the moment (winter edition!) is a corduroy pinafore dress.
I have loads of pinafore dresses, all less then a fiver from Vinted.
Just add coloured tights/leggings, matching ribbed jumper and a cardie over the top. Finish with wooly socks and chunky boots, comfy and a little bit retro which is my favourite look!

Dollyparot200 · 22/02/2025 06:29

I have to say these all sound gorgeous 😍

@IHaveAlwaysLivedintheCastle - that dress is just gorgeous, I love it.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery OP.

Today, I'm going to wear my stone/off white DM boots. They're extremely comfortable and always feel more like a spring/summer shoe, so today is their first wear of the year.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 22/02/2025 08:27

I have this dress and always feel fabulous in it (I have 3 different colours) as it shows off my waist. I alternate between wedge sandals, flat sandals or heels depending on what I'm wearing it for. It really doesn't suit a jacket so I wear a white cardigan.
