Older female celebrities who are growing old naturally/ not using fillers/ Botox?

Hello,

Can anyone give examples of female celebrities who are growing old naturally, ie not using Botox, fillers, and everything else?

It's for a talk I'm giving to teenage girls on body positivity!

I only have Pamela Anderson so far.

OP posts:

I think Ali Mcgraw and Joan Baez look great, both have gone grey as well.

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 10/02/2025 16:12

Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz have openly discussed this.

They are gorgeous and look their age.

She's had a facelift and spoke publicly about it.

Apologies, I didn't know that!

Certainly can't tell, in fact she is quite naturally lined and looks her age, or did on Sunday Brunch a week or so ago.

Darklane · 10/02/2025 16:13

I think you need to look at past celebrities before Botox, fillers etc became quite so common. As others have said, women like Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Lauren Bacall. Still current I can only think of a few, Judi Dench, Eileen Atkinson, Stephanie Cole, Louise Jameson & the late Maggie Smith.

Standard celeb maintenance is a face-lift in their thirties, usually around the time they disappear for a bit to have children/be with their families.

Look the necks of women in their fifties and over in real life, then look at celebs. No one, but no one, has anything other than a taut jawline - that's a lower face lift, lipo, lasers. There's no way that every celebrity happens to have a sharp jawline and the rest of the population look like they're melting by the same age.

Even the men are at it - compare photos today of Colin Firth and the actor who played Mr Wickham alongside him in Pride and Prejudice. Colin has definitely had work to keep fresh.

@MyrtleLion

i can’t see that Kim Wilde has spoken publicly about a face lift unless it was since 2018 when she spoke on Lorraine about having avoided plastic surgery?
Either way she does look great

She’s honest about the fact she has Botox.

Oh ok. She looks very natural though I think

She's definitely had a face-lift- I stood next to her a few years ago in person and didn't recognise her at first as she looked like Ming the Merciless, so tight and her eyebrows were so high. Now it's eased off she looks far better.

It’s the jowls and saggy neck that are so ageing. Very few over 50 have naturally taut jawline and necks. Very few non surgical procedures show any discernible difference and surgery is too expensive for many. Creams and serums just moisturise, which is important, but the magic elixir that firms these areas has not yet been discovered!

I think I may have confused her with Toyah.

Helen Mirren?

H Mirren has had numerous face and neck lifts.

There have been photos of her with bandages around her neck and face (clearly after surgery.)

Naomi Watts

Yes, I forgot about Naomi Watts.

Yeh, musing on this I think your audience may not be very receptive, OP. The current trend for plumped up skin, inflated lips, huge false eyelashes etc - none of it is natural looking and the youthful want preventative botox. The women much younger than me that go for this look probably are all for the nip & tuck if they can afford it. Showing them women their mother's or grandmother's age and telling them it's great to age naturally may not hit home tbh.

My sister is 50 and doesn't have a saggy neck and jowls. As far as I know (and I know her very well) she hasn't had any surgery or botox. My Mum doesn't either.

This thread is so depressing and predictable. No wonder so many resort to botox and fillers.

midlifeattheoasis · 10/02/2025 11:23

Joanna Lumley? She looks incredible regardless

I'm sure she's had work done. No one gets to almost 80 and a smoker and doesn't have any lines.

However, she is very much airbrushed in photos for publicity compared to when she's 'snapped' in the street in bad lighting.

GreenFingersHelp · 10/02/2025 16:28

There are now loads of treatments that aren't just Botox or fillers or face lifts.

There are things like microneedling, Profhilo, various laser treatments and treatments that stimulate collagen.

You wouldn't know if anyone has these because they are mainly subtle ways of looking a bit 'fresher'.

Carouselfish · 10/02/2025 16:29

Ashley Judd..she's not pro surgery at all

I did say over 50! Your sister is lucky not to have any signs , however small. Usually there will be other signs if you escape the usual ones. I don’t have 11s or many eye wrinkles or other wrinkles, and I’m in my late seventies, but I do hate my neck, which isn’t that bad, but certainly not taut. Look around you and most older women do have jowls and saggy necks unless they’ve had face/ neck lifts. I don’t think many women enjoy the ravages of ageing, but are limited in what they can do unless they have the money for effective treatments

ThoroughlyModernNotMillie · 10/02/2025 16:34

Teenagers will not have a clue who 90% of the women mentioned in this thread are. My sons will have heard of the Friends cast and the mum from Friday Night Dinner and that's about it. And even then none of them will be in any way relatable to their experience.

I don't think "hey girls, these women who are all 40+ years older than you and haven't had plastic surgery but still look great (honestly they do, I know they look like old women but trust me)" is a relevant 'body positivity' message for this audience. It's the equivalent of telling teenagers in the 80s that Frank Sinatra is still a hep cat.

Totally agree. Teenagers 1. don't think they're ever going to get old themselves, and 2. think anyone over 35 is positively ancient anyway.
Rather than pointing out actual older women celebrities( who mostly will have had some work done, so no one can be sure if they're their natural selves), much better to concentrate on ways of boosting self-esteem, ways of reducing focus on looks to judge their own or someone else's worth, ways of getting them to realise that social media is ultimately a selling and marketing device etc.

Trouble is the results are so subtle as to make no difference! Certainly, the non surgical treatments for necks aren’t that great for the older woman and rely on committing to many sessions at great cost, some with unpleasant downtime.

I’m wondering what she would have looked like without all this intervention!

whatapalarva · 10/02/2025 16:44

Emma Thompson?

LivesinLondon2000 · 10/02/2025 16:48

I think it is true that by 60 (maybe 50 is a bit early) most people (and people who don’t are very lucky) have a less defined jawline and some neck sagging and visible platysmal bands. But a lot of older celebrities - not all but definitely a higher proportion than non-famous people - do seem to have quite taut young-looking necks.

And I’m not sure Botox or fillers do much for the neck area as a previous poster said so guessing a lot of face/neck lifts going on. Maybe some are able to get good effects with Profhilo and other collagen boosting treatments but I imagine they’re often not enough post 60.

ChippingSoda · 10/02/2025 16:51

Kate Winslet
Emma Thompson
Amy Adams
Jodie Foster
Cate Blanchett
Andie MacDowell

All look great and like they’re aging naturally (who knows though)

"Deborah looks tired and older than her years. "

I don't like that expression. I think people's expectations for what a certain age looks like is distorted because of so many people changing their face to hide their age - which adds to the pressure to change your face. A viscous circle.

I look at Deborah and I trust her, and I respect her, and I want to hear what she has to say. She clearly has a very healthy lifestyle - she does not look tired.

She looks her age, (65) and when she smiles her face looks 10 years younger.
I actually love her face, far better than someone of the same age who looks like they have been embalmed.
