I hope the gloomy reason for this request doesn’t put off you lovely ladies of the style and beauty board !
I need pjs that are button opening rather than over the head as I’m soon having a mastectomy.
I am size 18 and petite ( under 5 foot 3) and am looking for long sleeve trouser length pjs rather than shorties or short sleeves . Materials as natural as possible and comfortable so no satin ( polyester is fine ) just not anything glamorous or sexy !)
I’ve looked at marks and Spencer and new look and boo hoo all of which came up in my Google search but nothing of note there.
thank you xxxx

I get my PJs from Cyberjammie. Most of them are button up front style, most are cotton and you do get some with three quarter length bottoms. I'm the same height as you and even the full length ones aren't too bad as the cotton is so fine you can turn over the waist band a couple of times and they don't look or feel too bulky.

Good luck for your op.

Primark boyfriend style, hope you recover well

Asda have cotton button up pyjama set, they’re not petite but I’m 5’2” and they’re not too long. I find them comfier and more long lasting than the cotton set I got from Next. Sending you well wishes

nookmiles · 28/01/2025 19:20

I got some lovely ribbed soft cotton ones from TU sainsburys when I had lumpectomy surgery. I also found George Asda had some nice sets.
Good luck with your op x

I’ve had two mastectomies. My favourite pyjamas came from Their Nibs. Button up fronts, cotton, and you can choose by sleeve length etc. Fab colours and designs.

Fourmagpies · 28/01/2025 19:57

Yawn are fab. Gorgeous organic cotton, they do nightshirts as well as proper PJs, I wear a nightshirt with long bottoms.

lisalisa · 28/01/2025 20:25

Just ordered from George at Asda. Going to look at other sites now . Thsnk you all and pls do keep recommendations coming ☺️

@Buttonless and @StormingNorman
how did you find trouser lengths as I’m 5”2 and many just trail on the floor. I can see the capri length and wonder whether this is better ?

sorry I meant in Their Nibs website

I’m a 27” inside leg in jeans and the trousers graze the floor on me but not so much they get in the way or I feel like I’m going to trip over them.

Their Nibs are my favourites. I wash them first though to soften them up though. They also do satin which I haven’t tried but I imagine they’d be very soft when the bandages come off.

lisalisa · 28/01/2025 20:50

@StormingNorman thsnk you . Not good with trouser length measurements ! Are you much taller than me or same height ?
yes hear you re satin being soft but for some reason I imagine it as not so breathable and comfy as cotton

I've heard amazing things about the softness of stripe and stare pj's as an excellent self gift for hospital recoveries.
Sending lots of love x

LadyHester · 28/01/2025 21:13

I came on to say Stripe and Stare! I’ve also had a mastectomy and the softness of their fabric feels very nurturing.
Good luck with everything x

Maddy70 · 28/01/2025 21:25

Honestly I find buttons a pain when I had my mastectomy. Just wear baggy tops

nookmiles · 28/01/2025 22:49

lisalisa · 28/01/2025 20:36

I'm 5'6 and the length are probably just about right on me. I do like my PJ's quite loose though so I bought the next size up - I'm usually a M (12/14) so bought L (16/18).

veraswaistcoat · 28/01/2025 23:46

I'm 5 foot 2 and bought Tu tartan pjs at Christmas and they are quite long but I just roll the waistband over and they are fine.

lisalisa · 28/01/2025 23:48

@daysfilledwithdappledlight and @LadyHester ive looked at stripe and stars but it’s quite expensive. I’ll wait for my other orders to arrive and if nothing comes of those I’ll push the boat out

@Maddy70 bir I’ve been told that you can’t get things over your head for a while hence the button up tops ?
