Buttery soft bras

Yes ok, I've been caught out by an ad for bras on Instagram - totally sucked in by the InstaSpeak "buttery soft, seamless, perfectly soft , no lines".

It's shit. And it'll cost me more to send it back.

But I really want a soft and seamless buttery soft bra for my 52 year old boobs because frankly, they are worth it. No underwire necessary and I'm a meagre B nearly C cup. Support obviously needed but in a buttery soft way!! From fastening fine because I rather love the racer style back.

Will I ever find my dream?

I like the Uniqlo vests with built in bra. No dig, no lines, reasonable support and price.

Cup size is meaningless without a band size.

The cup on a 36C is the same size as the cup on a 34D or a 32DD.

I have some wire free extremely comfortable bras from M and S.

Take a look at Shapermint. Their everyday bra is amazingly soft and the most comfortable I've found in years.

They are quite expensive but they do have pretty much permanent half price sales.

I wear uniqlo bras and vest bra tops all the time. Recommend

Try these Chantelle bras from John Lewis. Super comfy but decent support. Also wash well and crucially the padding is sewn in so doesn't go astray in the machine.

Depends on your band size. Honestly anyone with a bra size over 36B probably does require support. it doesn't have to be underwire but they do tend to be the best at lifting. Everything else is a con

I have a couple of these from M&S for weekends. They are very soft.

These M & S ones are great, I wear the non wired and wired versions...

Fantasie Envisage. Wired or wireless, ebay is your best place to find them. Best bar none!

I'm 62 and m and s flexifit do nothing for me and give me a shapeless monoboob.
I like the glamorise bralet the Lexington lace one which gives great shape and Snag tights are also doing bras now that look great. I haven't tried one yet though.

Boody bras are awful if you are older. Total waste of money. Unless you have perky boob's they won't give you any support at all.

I can recommend Seamless Lingerie. They’re another with online ads - I took a chance on Black Friday and they’re really comfy and good quality. I’ve got the wireless plunge bra style and have since bought a few more.

But I guess it explains why when I ordered a 38b the cup size turned out to be far too large...Don't suppose you know what the equivalent would be do you? I'm having real trouble finding new bras when I can't rely on the sizing.

The Boob or Bust website that @beetr00 linked to is very helpful.

Basically, you need to measure under your bust to get the band size and over your bust to get the cup size, which is the difference in inches between your underbust and overbust size. The BoB website explains it very well.

Cup sizes don't remain the same for each band size so a 36C cup is not the same size as a 34C cup. It is bigger. A 36C cup is the same size as a 34D cup.

Thank you @beetr00 & @RampantIvy I shall try their guidelines later today. Whenever i measure & always come out at 38b, but I don't understand how the cup sizes don't remain standard per band size...beginning to think I might need an 38a which isn't easy to find!

What dress size are you? As a rough guide your band size is usually 20 inches larger than your dress size so if you are a size 14 you are likely to find a 34 band is suitable. This is only a rough guide though.

If you are a size 12 and wearing a 38 inch band size you are likely to be wearing a band that is too large and a cup size that is too small.
