My lips are really dry and feel tight and I'm forever applying Vaseline to them, which really doesn't seem to be making that much difference.
Can anyone recommend a really nourishing lip balm please? 👄

Lanolin nipple cream for me.

quizlady · 21/01/2025 20:07

nuxe reve de miel
Best I've found and have been using for years now.

Vaseline will make it worse!

BlueHatForABlueDay · 21/01/2025 20:08

Burts Bees lip balm lipsticks are lovely or Carmex.

bakewellbride · 21/01/2025 20:09

Castor oil.

bugalugs45 · 21/01/2025 20:09

It costs a fortune but la mer ( £62) is awesome .
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour comes a close second

Day to day I like glossier balm.com now they've gone back to the original formula or Dr Paw Paw. If my lips ever get really dry or burnt (cheese!) lansinoh nipple cream is a saviour especially over night

Lanolips 101 is great. I had a ‘tried everything’ period last year and it cleared up the severe dryness, I swear by it now.

Those are the exact two that dermatologists don't recommend

Poachedeggontoastinthemorning · 21/01/2025 20:15

@bugalugs45 I got the la mer lip volumiser in the liberty advent calendar and it's lovely, but more like a long lasting gloss than actually nourishing my lips.

Beauty Pie do a nice lip balm but I've found Blistex Intensive Moisturiser better for really sore lips.

Incidentally, I thought petroleum based products like Vaseline made lips worse?

roobyred · 21/01/2025 20:25

This one www.blistex.co.uk/blistex-relief-cream

Lanolips is great
Carmen intense
Palmers cocoa butter lip balm for every day

shellyleppard · 21/01/2025 20:31

I use carmex at night time

IJulia · 21/01/2025 20:34

StarFace 'Vanilla StarBalm' Lipbalm has been brilliant for me.

Portia10 · 21/01/2025 20:34

Carmex all day long! Just the original flavour in either the tub or a tube. I never use anything else

Tipperttruck · 21/01/2025 20:37

O keefes do an intense overnight one which I often use during the day.

The body shop used to do a wonderful vitamin e one but not sure if they still do it.

Yes body shop vitamin E was my holy grail for years.

I now use bioderma atoderm and clarins lip oil in homey

User37482 · 21/01/2025 21:35

Nuxe over here too, best I’ve found DD and DH also use it.

GLC789 · 21/01/2025 21:38

Carmex original. None of the silly flavours. Good old fashioned OG tingly one x

Ophy83 · 21/01/2025 21:47

Nuxe reve de miel or rose. They also do a lovely lip oil in miel that my dd adores. It looks like a honey spoon.

3littlelambs · 21/01/2025 21:50

I've tried pretty much everything previously mentioned and none have helped much. The only product that's worked is Laneige lip sleeping mask. I use it in the day too.

porridgebath · 21/01/2025 21:51

Ooh and when I was on isotretioin I used aquaphor (not the lip balm just the balm)
