Lip balm recommendations

My lips are really dry and feel tight and I'm forever applying Vaseline to them, which really doesn't seem to be making that much difference.
Can anyone recommend a really nourishing lip balm please? 👄

I've tried pretty much everything previously mentioned and none have helped much. The only product that's worked is Laneige lip sleeping mask. I use it in the day too.

I love the sleep mask so much

This one is nice

Also Reve de Miel and Le Petit Marseillais yellow one

nuxe reve de miel
Best I've found and have been using for years now.

Vaseline will make it worse!

Second this. Believe me when I say I've tried them all, this is the best one out there.

Have you tried the Revolution lip sleeping masks? They are pretty good too and as cheap as chips!

I’ve tried lots of different balms (Carmex, Burt’s Bees, all the ones in Boots made with petroleum jelly, many many indie brands, none of which helped my flaky dry lips) and the only one I go back to consistently is this Lavera one. It’s my holy grail of lip balms.

lavera Basis Sensitiv Lip Balm — lavera

Experience the lavera feeling of intense moisture on your lips. Enriched with nourishing organic almond oil and organic jojoba oil to gently care and moisturise the lips. With a pleasant vanilla scent, your lips will love the lavera Basis Sensitiv Lip...

Neutrogena lip salve.

As a horse rider in all weathers, I have tried loads and rejected loads.
It is sold in the larger Boots stores, so can be difficult to get hold of if you only have a smaller one near you.

Tropic lip fudge works well for me.

We also swear by their tamanu balm which we use now in place of all antiseptic type products. Solved my daughter's lip lickers impetigo. Might be worth a try if the surrounding area cracked

I agree with this. I use this for flare ups, then Vaseline aloe vera (the green tin) for normal everyday use

Fluff111 · 21/01/2025 22:15

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

MargaritaPracticallyCan · 21/01/2025 22:16

I had really dry, tight lips a few weeks ago, random as I don't usually get them. I found an old pot of coconut Body Shop lip balm, which has worked wonders! Nothing else was working, but this worked beautifully.

Readytoevolve · 21/01/2025 22:18

The Eucerin lip balm is very good.

Blarn · 21/01/2025 22:19

Okeefes lipbalm in the little orange tube is really good but nothing for me beats lanolin. My lips get very bad on winter with almost eczema around them and Lanolips works wonders.

Eldermillenialyogi · 21/01/2025 22:21

OP try Lanolips

I used to swear by Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream but Lanolips is so moisturising and leaves a nice sheen on the lips

User12385359 · 21/01/2025 22:23

Lanolips is the best and I’ve tried them all.

nailslikeknives · 21/01/2025 22:23

Blistex Intensive Moisturiser is brilliant. It's the only thing I've used for 30 years in a row!

ThePuppyHasZoomiesAgain · 21/01/2025 23:23

Carmex or Blistex work for me.

If they are really chapped, like in the corners you might have angular chellitus. So might need to dab a very tiny amount of hydrocortisone cream on there. I think you can only use it for 4 days ish so if it doesn't go, then ask a pharmacist.

StrawberryPavlova · 22/01/2025 06:39

I love the original Chapstick but it's very hard to find now. I did recently find it in my local Savers shop though so I'm hoping they keep it in stock for a long time and I just buy two or three each time I go in. Nothing works for me like that does though.

WrinklesShminkles · 22/01/2025 11:24

E45 lip balm in a small tube, which has a simple formula but includes petrolatum, lanolin, beeswax and Vit E.

Commonsenseisnotsocommon · 22/01/2025 11:50

1st choice: Elizabeth arden 8 hour
2nd choice: Neals yard lip balm (stick)

Alabas · 22/01/2025 11:55

I’ve tried everything. I didn’t find the nipple cream did anything after it wore off, all the stick and cream type ones (burts, o’keefe, nutrogena, blistex)just seem to make it worse. The best I have found is Nuxe, Omorovicza, and Laneige (last two are great at night).

WildestWinter · 22/01/2025 12:03

Another vote for lanolips, either the one in the tube or the 'basic balm' in a stick; I also like the La Roche Posay cicaplast balm. I find anything with menthol in the ingredients irritates my lips when they're particularly chapped so tend to avoid Carmex and some of the Burts Bees ones.

Babymamamama · 22/01/2025 12:08

DD’s tiktok fave is Laneige. It’s gorgeous both lip mask and balm. I’m even a convert and I’m usually sceptical.

Livinginaclock · 22/01/2025 12:12

Blistex at night, Pleasing big lip during the day.

BananaSpanner · 22/01/2025 12:16

Readytoevolve · 21/01/2025 22:18

The Eucerin lip balm is very good.

Yes this one works well for me. The intensive dry skin one.
