Thought I'd start a follow on thread as I'm not about till tomorrow and I'm loving see all the LD arrivals, definitely doing some more next week.

I think I will do just that.

I did manage to get free delivery last year, but I don't know if it was available for the full dip time or only when I ordered in those first few days.

I love mine and I have never seen another Roka bag here. Except for someone had one on an incoming UK flight when I was fetching someone from the airport.

But 30 smackeroos plus then the duties just sours the deal somewhat.

I went onto Vinted UK and was quite astounded to see the sheer amount on there. I am sure you must be seeing them used out and about a whole lot.
I do quite like being unique with mine ☺️

Re: ROKA - I had never noticed them until I heard about the promotion on here. Now ROKA bags are everywhere I look in local shops! I haven’t yet seen one in the wild, though!

I went to a women’s network meeting with work in Jan and spotted a green Bantry on a chair. My first thought it that she must be a mumsnetter 😆

You do realise that it is ROKA who are flooding the market, right? They actively encouraged people to buy more in the last week with promotions and free delivery. They are clearing out old stock and WANT people to buy them.

@Pandagram Agree but all the customers who might otherwise purchase from Roka during the next few months will likely buy from elsewhere, on the resale sites, for lower prices. That said, the brand exposure is still good and yes, Roka offload old stock and still make money.

I haven't got an issue with people swapping and selling on. I have done a couple of swaps and it's been great. It's the purchasing at LD prices with a message of "this is my dream bag, can I buy it for LD price please" then you see them sell it on for profit minutes later on another site. What felt like a transparent swap site (FB) looks very different this weekend. That was my only concern. Hasn't felt like that on here though

Oh, I completely agree with you. My one attempt at selling (for the amount I paid) on Vinted I cancelled as the person who tried to buy it was selling about 50 Roka bags at inflated prices.

My point was more that the company has absolutely worked the lucky dip into their business plan and so the resellers won't pose a problem for them. They've already released a bunch of new colours.

I am also loath to sell on Vinted - although I might end up doing so as I appear to have 4 marine coloured paddingtons and 2 black Kenningtons.
I will continue to try to swap on FB first.
The LD has been a very expensive distraction for me - but I , my BIL and my kids all have lovely backpacks.

@unhappybutunsureofwork if you decide to sell a black Kennington I’d be interested. Was it a medium or maxi dip?

I still don’t need another bag but black is irresistible 😆

I got off the train at Brighton last week and joined a small crowd of people heading to the gates - I spotted 6 Roka backpacks not including my own

Ha...I live in Brighton and certainly see a few around about here. There's a great little shop called Ju Ju that has a really good range of them.

My Roka order did arrive this morning. Just in time!

I'm very happy with the lucky dips. A Paddington in Carbon and a gorgeous scarf in Corn.

I'll forgive them for underwhelming Bantry earlier this month.

I've not opened the Finchley for DS but hopefully he likes it tomorrow. It came with a free umbrella too.

Are the free umbrellas standard with a Finchley? If not, how did you get it for free?

I’m waiting for my mini dip with everything crossed that it’s some sort of bag or purse. I really don’t want a hat or any sort of knitwear so I’m prepared to take return postage as a fine for caving in at the last minute.

Were umbrellas in the mini dip? I really hope I don’t get an umbrella but at least it should be easy to feel one through the packaging 😆

There are special online offers on the Roka website to get free umbrellas with certain Bayswater, large Finchley and large Canfield. The promotion has been running for some time.

My order from last Monday hasn’t arrived yet. I don’t want a scarf for my Mini, (but possibly better than another Chelsea…) I could live with a brolly or one of those cute rain hat/sun hat things that no one seems to like.

The suspense is driving me mad 😹

It is far too early to expect mine to arrive, but I'm looking at what others are receiving on FB and it's looking good. I was afraid it'd all be small black Bantrys.

In my fantasy they have run out of old stock to send out so I'm going to get 5 bags in the new colours.

Over the course of the dip I have received 5 marine coloured Paddington's B's and
2 Black and corn Kenningtons.

Although to be fair there are some lovely maxi dips being posted but I’ve only done a mini and I’m seeing too much knitwear.

There seems to be a lot of colour about and some unusual ones too.

Plenty of pink in various shades. The stripey blue which is lovely. Some two tone bags in attractive combinations.

People saying 'here's my latest 6, all for sale or I'm sending them back'. You've got to wonder what they were thinking when they ordered.
