Heavy perfume advice

Hi all, can anyone recommend a heavy perfume like the original Gucci? It’s no longer made and I’m nearing the end of the bottle.

It is a heavy perfume and I love that type of smell. Any suggestions?

I have liked obsession in the past and opium.

'Amber Kiso' by DS & Durga is an incredibly heavy amber/wood 'beast mode' perfume.

Seconded.. Also Estee Lauder Knowing is a fabulous heady chypre.

Tom Ford is excellent for heavier perfumes but have you tried eBay to see if anyone is selling the Gucci perfume? I do this to find vintage Chanel 19 (the new version is nowhere close to the original). You need to read descriptions and check pics carefully but I’ve picked up a couple of replacement bottles altho not cheap.

I hadn’t realised it was discontinued until I asked for it at Christmas. I was then shocked. I’ve had the bottle years and always save it for best. I’m not sure when ‘best’ is. I generally save things but now I’m of the mindset to get stuff worn…it’s ridiculous saving stuff for ‘best’ I know. @stayathomer I don’t think anyone will appreciate the smell like we do. My horses, cats and dogs just want mints and treats. It’s wasted on them!

The new Alien 'Hypersense' is so lovely. When I have it on I can't stop sniffing my wrists.

Some of the Penhaligons fragrances may suit - Halfeti is everywhere just now.
Estée Lauder also do stronger long lasting perfumes.

I read a review for Gucci Intense Oud the other day and I’d like to try it - sounds like it may be up your street and I see that it’s currently on offer at TK Maxx.

Someone above mentioned Estée Lauder’s Youth Dew. Lovely if you can carry it off, but for a lighter more modern version try M&S’s new Orange Blossom and Amber fragrance. I was so surprised by it - really lovely.

Tom Ford: Black Orchid. I was bought a bottle a few years ago and I wear it so infrequently as I just can’t use it as a daily perfume. Far too heavy (for me!). Might be what you are looking for!

A couple of options you might like are rich oud or amber-based perfumes — they give that same heavy, comforting feel. I personally use LinBerlin’s deeper oud perfumes and they have that strong, heavy vibe you might enjoy.

Another vote for Portrait of a Lady. It’s £££ but it’s GORGEOUS. A really heavy, sexy rose.

Estée Lauder Knowing or Youth Dew

I used to wear Gucci by Gucci and the closest I've found is Narciso Rodriguez - the one in the black bottle. Portrait of a lady is lovely but rose scented and doesn't smell similar at all.
