Could anyone who has received a Bond clarify what dip it is included in. The description of the midi lucky dip includes the Bond but it doesn’t fit in to the price band! Its maximum price is shown £34.95.

OvaHere · 06/01/2025 11:50

@manpan1

Thanks. I think I follow it now.

manpan1 · 06/01/2025 12:03

@OneLilacWasp I would ask them. They may take a while to respond but the LD runs until the end of January so they will get back to you in time for placing an order. I haven't seen anyone receive a Bond as part of the LD and the lady I spoke with today (when I was asking about which products were allocated to which dips) didn't mention Bonds as part of the LD. That doesn't mean you can't get one... worth asking the question. Good luck

ohbygolly · 06/01/2025 12:21

Still waiting on my St Stephen's Day order. Going to hold off on contacting customer service again as it now looks like the delay could be due to snow - no postal deliveries here today as the roads are so bad. Though Amazon are telling me they'll get to me before 9pm with a different delivery, so we'll see how they get on.

I wondered this!

Which products are allocated to which LDs? Sorry if I’ve missed this.

I’m done with dips this year but I will be looking out for their sales.

IlovePond · 06/01/2025 13:17

Well, they’ve arrived - out of the blue - no notifications.

Maxi: 1x Custard small Bantry - horrible colour and I now know what people mean by too small! I can’t fit my little laptop in it and it’s too small for work. Unusable for anyone in the house but quite cute.

Note: The yellow is much more psychedelic than it looks in the picture.

Maxi: 1x Purple Trafalgar - basically an overpriced tote bag - the sort of thing I would pay a fiver for. It does fit DH’s laptop, but I know he won’t use it.

Mini: 1x Green Chelsea bag - this is fine.

Only got myself to blame…

Roka lucky dip.
IlovePond · 06/01/2025 13:22

Tbf: I can just about squeeze a soft A4 folder into the small Bantry, so it MIGHT do for work.

I will use the Chelsea for the gym - it will be good for that.

Does anyone know if you can return part orders and how much they charge for shipping?

Thanks

OvaHere · 06/01/2025 13:25

@IlovePond

Sorry you had a disappointing selection. I think returns were £4 but not sure if this is per item.

Priced reasonably they do sell well on Vinted.

buckeejit · 06/01/2025 13:35

I ordered a maxi & got a small black bantry so not delighted since I already have 3 small & 3 medium bags. Would have liked a large backpack, wish they'd do a large lucky dip - think it's a bit pants having a maxi option when you get a small bag

ohbygolly · 06/01/2025 14:42

Well Amazon managed to deliver the parcel they had for me, so fingers crossed the postal service will be back up and running tomorrow and I'll get my Roka order then.

Thingsthatgo · 06/01/2025 14:45

@buckeejit yeah, if they did another option, with just the medium and large bags, maybe the holdalls too, I would pay a bit more for that.

IlovePond · 06/01/2025 14:50

Thanks for the info @manpan1 However, I am really confused now - if the small Bantry wasn’t supposed to be included at all, why have they carried on sending them?

My oldest adult DS just caught me taking a picture of my bags for you all and asked what I was doing. The subsequent conversation went something like:

DS: So, let me get this straight - you paid £56 to some company you’d never heard of for three random bags, not knowing what you were going to get, just because you read about it on MN?

Me: Yes.

DS: You’re quite mad.

Hard to argue, really!

For the RRP, I expected better than the quite horrid and cheap-looking Trafalgar in particular. However, DH says he will use it, (under protest), because ‘no one would think there was a laptop in it’.

I have enjoyed the excitement/randomness of this LD, but I expected the bags themselves to be ‘better’ quality. I just don’t think they’re worth the RRP.

Suzuki76 · 06/01/2025 14:55

So pleased! Finally got here and Roka refunded the express delivery of £8.

It's a medium Canfield.

Roka lucky dip.

Wow love it! I’d be well chuffed with that.

manpan1 · 06/01/2025 14:58

@IlovePond Hi I think many of the small bantry bags cost £59.95 and some cost as much as £64.95. The wording in their original advert was correct and there shouldn't have been so much confusion because a small black bantry can cost £59.95 and was included in the wording about all sizes of backpack being included in the maxi LD and within that price range. The only issue (as I understand it) is that some of the £54.95 colourways and patterns got sent out in error due to a mistake allocating stock at the distribution centre. But Roka were quite right to send out the £59.95 and £64.95 small bantry bags in the maxi dips.
They were never included in the midi dips.

I have always been happy with the quality though and can never have enough of their bags. I love them.

IlovePond · 06/01/2025 15:01

Just to say, the small Bantry will not do for work, (I tried decanting stuff in - massive fail).

The purple Trafalgar is a much more sickly lilac than it looks in my picture.

The Chelsea emerald is quite a nice green - not too bright.

IlovePond · 06/01/2025 15:04

Thanks @manpan1 - I do think the Bantry is nice looking, (but very yellow), and the quality seems fine. I will have to find somewhere to use it!

The Trafalgar just looks cheap - basically it’s an overpriced tote bag imo. Totally my fault - I am not familiar with the brand and had no idea that these totes even existed.

@IlovePond Like most purchases, if you are not happy, just send them back.

Jins · 06/01/2025 15:06

@IlovePond I agree with you to some extent but as I make most of my own clothes and buy a lot of stuff secondhand I’m woefully out of touch with prices. Roka bags seem quite well made out of reasonable grade fabrics but designs are simple enough to be made up very quickly. North of £60 for a medium sized roll top backpack seemed quite strong to me but £30 seemed ok for a treat.

I can’t see me doing another dip but I might pick up something else in a sale sometime. Especially if new designs come out

IlovePond · 06/01/2025 15:22

Unfortunately I can’t return as DH ripped off all the packaging from the Trafalgar. On the plus side: It does fit DH’s laptop. IMO, it’s an extremely ugly bag and not worth anywhere near the RRP, but it’s ok for the price I paid.

Should I ever go anywhere, I think the Bantry will come in useful. It is very cute. The colour might be growing on me.

I think my friend might get more use out of the Chelsea than me, so I will probably regift it. It’s a cute little bag in a nice colour.

CatriJ · 06/01/2025 16:55

Is the quality of the Trafalgar really that bad? I have my eyes on some on Vinted as a present for mum, that’s the only bag shape she’d use and it’s the right size for all her things. The all black ones with the minimalistic colour hardware looks ok?

Mine is lovely. I use it for work - I have the black with purple details. The straps are really sturdy and I don't think it's ugly at all.
