What is the point of people taking part in the lucky dip if you are all so fussy

My maxi is a small Bantry B. I like it but had expected a slightly higher value bag as I ordered before the maxi description was amended.

I think you have misunderstood my post. When I say I am undecided I was referring to the small bantry (should have said it, not them) as per my earlier post it is worth less than the £59.95 that ROKA said the it would be at least worth. But I love the colour so I’m considering keeping it despite this.

I did this last year and really enjoyed it. DH thinks I should just buy the bag I want, but I'm totally missing all the fun. To dip or not to dip?

It's a finchley I'd like though in medium or large as my small is a bit small and I'm not seeing many come up. I woulsnt mind canfield, but not keen on a bantry.

Missed buying one on vinted this am. People keep putting them up for almost full price- I'd just buy direct from Roka if i wanted to pay full price.

Mine just arrived. I did a maxi lucky dip, and got a medium Bantry B in airforce blue. I'm delighted as it's what I would have chosen myself.

I've emailed Roka and expressed my dissatisfaction at the value of the package and the fact that the website says that a colourful surprise is guaranteed - and no-one could call grey colourful.

The dilemma is that I think my small bantry might actually be quite useful -- it just doesn't fulfil the promise of value and colour that I paid for.

So I've suggested that I'd be happy with a refund of £10 --- the difference between a maxi and midi dip. And I mentioned that I've not yet given feedback on Trustpilot, so hopefully this can be resolved to our mutual satisfaction before I do 😉

I dont understand why people think the backpacks are in the midi dip. I read all the instructions before buying and regardless of the values mentioned, it is extremely clear that the small, medium and large bags are in the MAXI dip and stated both on the main dips page and in the individual descriptions: a bantry small is a small backpack therefore comes in the maxi dip.... Why do people not read before buying? Genuinely miffed 🤔

Had never heard of them before I saw this last year I was pleased with my medium large Bantry in a cherry red. Still looks like new so don’t need a new one I think.

The statements on the Maxi dip page said both:

• Small/Medium/Large backpacks in this dip
• Value of between £59.95 and £89.95 (Which they later changed to £54.95).

Small Bantrys are £54.95, so those buying prior to the website change didn’t expect them to be Maxi dips as they don’t meet the originally advertised price range. Tens, maybe hundreds have been sent small Bantrys when people believed their products would be priced higher and therefore not include them.

So they were missold. And Roka then sneakily changed their price bracket to reflect this, I suspect in the hope that people didn’t notice. But for people who know and buy the bags, we may have been expecting Small Canfields or Finchleys which cost more, but not the Bantry.

I think they need to change the categories for next year. There is no category for people who want a larger bag and so they have to order a maxi and hope.

Maybe they need another category specifically for the smaller backpacks then a true maxi category at a slightly higher price.

I do enjoy the fun element. I was willing to go with any colour or shape so long as I could get my laptop in it.

I don't understand why you don't understand!! I read the terms and conditions before buying and clearly was missold as I got something that was worth £5 less than it was supposed to be worth.

I agree in principle. A lot of people (like me) want one large enough to fit a laptop. In reality they probably have a limited amount of the medium/large bags so that category would be a mad scramble on Boxing Day and would sell out fast then end up on Vinted close to full price.

@Loverofbags The categories were quite specific and sensible. They set out the categories as price ranges. Maxi was £59.95-£89.95, midi was £39.95-£59.95 etc. I too read all of the descriptions and even emailed Roka to confirm the price ranges.
They did not say that Midi would not include a backpack. They said you could receive any size of backback in Maxi and you could receive anything in the midi price range in the midi dip.
The midi dip should have included the Moorgate and small Bantry based on price range. But these were sent to Maxi purchasers and this wasn't correct.
Equally, those receiving a Stratford or small Paddington as a Midi should have received something of higher value.
They just seem to have got the allocation of stock wrong. The categories seemed to be quite straightforward. They should have just allocated the stock differently between the dips.
Once they realised, they took the Moorgates off the dips altogether (annoyingly) and pushed the lower end of the price range down, which has caused issues. But I trust them to sort it out. They are usually very good.

I’m keeping it - I’ve got a small rucksack (think it’s a Canfield in Airforce blue) that I love, but it is a bit too small sometimes. This is perfect, even if black is a bit boring, it looks lovely!

Same. Mine is black also. I did think ordering a maxi id possibly get a less tiny bag. I’m not bothered what colour I get. The bag is very small though.
for reference I got a black one and if anyone in Ireland/NI and aren’t too far and want to swop I can.

Just got my 2 maxis. A bantry b small in avocado and a Finchley a large in stormy grey. I’m happy with those. Perfect for what I need so not moaning I got a bantry b before the price point changed. Wouldn’t have minded a brighter colour but not complaining.
still got my midi to come which I ordered separately.

They have offered me either a £5 voucher or a free return. I'm tempted to send it back and order a new maxi as any medium or large backpack would suit me, but knowing my luck they will send me another Small Bantry B!! 🤣 So now I don't know what to do!

Bantry B medium in teal (I would say green personally not teal). I'm happy but I do have another Roka in a similar colour so would have preferred something brighter.
Arrived today without any shipping email.

It's a dilemma 😂I've been contemplating all day trying again especially after seeing others getting 2 or more large/ med rucksacks in one go and in colours I'd be pleased with - but I feel the same as you. I'd probably get another small Bantry at which point I'm probably stupid to not just buy the one I want in the colour I want.

I've just caved and gone for a maxi lucky dip. I used the THANKYOU5000 code and it worked. I'm definitely being lured in here by FOMO, the brand hasn't particularly been on my radar before. But I like the look of a lot of the bags that would be in the maxi, particularly the canvas ones.

I have one of the smaller ones and find that if I’m wearing a puffy coat the buckles can dig into my arms a bit

I think there is clearly some utter chaos behind the scenes - despite no shipping email and the tracking still saying that it's not out for delivery yet, my 'mini' arrived today and it was a Small Bantry B in black which I was not expecting given the value of it. Hopefully they will refund/make good those of you who received the same bag at a significantly higher entry price.

Wow they really want shot of the small Bantrys don't they!!! 😂

I guess that's a win for you though (unless you hate it and really wanted a purse).
