Help me find a Christmas Day dress, I'm in a fashion slump

Hi, I've beeb going through a really tough time and I would like to find a really lovely dress to wear on Christmas Day. I've been living in the same old jeans and jumpers as been too clinically depressed for following fashion for ages, but I would love to feel special for a day with the extended family and my partner who has been a bit of a rock lately. Budget up to 150. I like dark jewel tones and nothing above midi length but completely open as to styles and brands, I haven't been in a clothes shop in ages. I'm 36, a size 8-10 and 5'3", pale skin and mid length light red-brown hair and blue eyes. Curvy bum/hips but small boobs and waist. Any suggestions would be amazing... thanks MN!

I think most of mumsnet may also be wearing it 😂 I’m a size larger size 10 with big boobs and had seen someone say that nobody’s child are quite tight across the chest - I had to return the size 10 and get an 8, so I found it more generous fitting. There’s some other lovely colours in the same dress too.

I would not be going for anything with a cut out on Xmas day unless I wore my thermals underneath and a big jumper on top. Cos or Arket may have something swishy

Phase Eight and Monsoon have some lovely midi dresses in at the moment that I think are lovely without being too over the top 😊

Some of those Sister Jane dresses are gorgeous. So to is the green Hobbs one. I’ve just bought a dark green velvet blouse from M&S - sorry I can’t link as I bought it from the outlet store, along with sequined trousers. I won’t wear this combo on Christmas Day, it’s for an evening event, but jewel colours in velvet look great.

The green velvet wrap dress @JMAngel1 suggested is gorgeous.

I also love the m&s slip dress.

lol, imagine how comfortable this would feel after a turkey diner! 😂.. Plus my Mum likes to keep her house at sub tropical temperatures so I’d basically be cooking!

I think Oliver Bonus have some nice bits, as do Jigsaw. I buy my Christmas Day dress on Christmas Eve as they’ve started to reduce things!

Bit of a wildcard but this would look lovely with your colouring - I've seen someone wear it IRL and it's stunning

@Britpopbaby I'm intrigued to know what Christmas day is like in your house! 😳

All the @ at the poster whose dress suggestions people aren't keen on, is getting a bit mean. We don't all like the same things and it's nice of someone to take the time to suggest something even if it doesn't exactly meet the brief.

I have the green Hobbs one for Christmas Day and I’ve worn it already. It’s reduced recently.

I like the Hobbs dresses. Bear in mind any longer or midi dresses will probably swap OP as she’s petite.

Really flattering and generous I'm a 12-14 and went for a 12. Fits perfectly and skims and hides my meno belly . Couldn't be happier.
