Is this bag nice?

I wanted to treat myself to a nice bag because I have recently reached a personal milestone. So I bought myself this Coach bag. I'm not normally a fan of Coach at all, but a (much younger!) cousin of mine was carrying it recently and I just haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I remember she said it was "going viral on tiktok" (I don't have tiktok so hadnt come across it). I really like the patent brown-ness of it and I don't usually like big logos but I feel like the C in the logo isn't that common (I could be really wrong here as I am just not that familiar with coach bags).

I just bought the bag online and am now wondering is it something that is supposed to be for much younger girls? Does it look tacky? Have I lost my mind 😂

I am 35 FWIW and these days looking like a very frazzled overweight mum of a toddler ie. not at all cool or svelte etc. To give an example of what I would like my style to be: I carry bags like the mulberry bayswater (I would love a bag from Celine but can't justify the price) or would like to dress like the models on the Sezane website (when I lose some weight).

It's gorgeous !

Interesting that the poll has most not liking it, but that isn't reflected in the comments.
I'm not sure whether you are questioning whether you like it, or whether you think you shouldn't like it because younger women do? Coach bags are great quality and are popular with plenty of women who are not on tiktok.
Obviously you do like it, so don't worry about what anyone else thinks, including random people on here, some of whom would hate any bag that costs more than £30.

Colour is nice but I voted yuck because I would not go anywhere near anything with a big visible logo.

Also it doesn’t really matter if it’s trending anywhere or not, what matters is whether YOU like it or not and if you have to ask I don’t think you do.

Too small for my taste and life. But I only like vintage Coach anyway-don't like the big C. Not very helpful, sorry!

I like it actually but would want to remove the top handle so it's a cross body bag only. Get it if you love it! Everyone has different tastes. I've got a small coach bag that's hardly practical as I can't fit much in there but it makes me happy on the rare days I don't have to lug a massive baby change rucksack :)

Did you keep the bag @NCMJ ?

NCMJ · 03/12/2024 02:39

Sorry I never updated this thread!
Thank you @FormerlySpeckledyHen for reminding me and thank you everyone for your replies.

I did keep it! It really is very nice and I quite like how versatile it is. I don't have a bag in this style at all and it feels like a bag I would have admired on my mum when I was little. I know that might sound old fashioned but I mean it's nice in a vintage nostalgic way and I really like that!

The shiny leather is also a deep brown. My husband said it reminded him of a horse saddle but it just looks gorgeous to me 😅🤩

I love it, I've got a few Coach bags, so classic, they go with so many outfits and don't seem to date.
Great that you can wear it as an across the body as well as a shoulder bag too - I bought the M & S one like it in silver (much cheaper at £35 but just for evenings with my silver boots)

I'm glad you kept it and like it - I think it's lovely! I know just what you mean about the nostalgia factor.
