My sister needs an AMAAAAZING wedding outfit

She is in her 20s and Kylie-sized and needs a fabulous dress for a wedding v v soon (for various reasons she really really needs to look fab) - dress will be a bday present from family so budget less important than fabulousness. She has been shopping, been on net-a-porter and similar but can't find anything at all. Anyone seen anything lovely?

Yes it was me, but oh nightmares of nightmares The dress, beautiful dress has a smallish rip in the back and plus, my mum went ......... which means "OMG what a horrible dress why would you wear grey to your own wedding!!!!"

So I cried and mithered and then carried on shopping. But I found a white(!) dress which is so lovely and definately weddingy but not a big gown and I am happy! Woohoo!

I intend to post pics for you but am thinking I need to start thread saying sorry because everyone was so nice about the other dress and I do love it too, but I will use it to wow at another party.

Tilly if you are still around, you are one of the people I feel most apologetic to. You gave me so much good advice about the other dress. Sorry if you feel even slightly like you wasted your time, you certainly didn't, that dress and attached accessory advice is highly valued.

Phew, sorry, didn't mean to splurge but been on my mind since yesterday!

Pillow · 27/04/2008 22:45

Oh it was such a lovely lovely dress. And you properly rocked it. It was YOUR dress. You know?

I'm sure btw that the new dress is brilliantly amazing. You have great great taste and a fab knowledge of what suits you, judging by the other dress. When is the big day??

Wow, pretty!

Classy but sexy

Again, pretty

This is fun

Btw, it's an american site but no distance is too far for the perfect.. size 8 dress..

Pillow · 27/04/2008 22:55

OK, Mrs Badger, I am calling out to you. Please fix my sister's problem. Budget is good, but it's harder than it looks.

Oh, SheWillBeLoved, that wasn't a commentary on your choices at all which I haven't looked at yet...

Yeah. It is/was Good. Really good. It is okay and I could still wear it BUT my mum just did that very clever mum thing of realising my own doubts and bringing them out.

It was fab but I think that the new dress is better for getting wed in.

For the first dress, I went out and bought all the sparkly silver shoes and necklaces as recommended, tried everything on and. Argh. The sparkliness just made the dress grey and then I saw the rip and thought. Oh no. It is small and could be mended but it just felt then not special enough for that particular day. IYSWIM.
Really it was my mums reaction and the knowledge that grey just might not cut it.

I really want to show you the new one but have to fiddle with camera timings and such (while dps not around) This week. SOmetime this week I will.

I am very excited about all things wedding now. It is falling into place and Tilly's et als advice about orchids and such is transferring very well indeed.

Anyway hijack over!

how about this for sis?

Or this? I think the first will show of her figure well but the sedcond is more interesting.

S1ur · 27/04/2008 23:04

My wedding is 21st June. Eeek.

How about a bit of westwood? sale brings it under budget. Possibly a bit long though.

Pillow · 27/04/2008 23:08

Oh oh - why don't you get wed in the new dress and then come home for the thing and change into the bluey purple one then?? As you look STONKING HOT in it!!

OP posts:
Pillow · 27/04/2008 23:09

But oh dear god are you drunk?? That is a sleeping bag!!

OP posts:
Pillow · 27/04/2008 23:10

Oooh that is a good thought it had occured to me before to have two outfits but I'd sort of forgotten in the frenzy of it all. Mmmm, yes I could come home and when I wave away grandparents I could pop upstairs apply smokey eye make up and re emerge all sexy and smouldering. That would be very good! And an excellent contrast with the beautiful white dress of the day! Good plan, thank you!

I will have to hunt you down when I post pics, it'll be in style and beauty asap.

oh btw I found that dress I was thinking of but it is £3600

here ya go

S1ur · 27/04/2008 23:16

Yeah the westwood is a bit love it or loath it, isn't it? Is it stylish or is it curtains? I throw it out there because several folk have been very keen. But yep. I wouldn't buy it. Assuming I was rich enough to casually spend nearly 4 grand on a dress.

SheWillBeLoved · 27/04/2008 23:17

Oooh

S1ur · 27/04/2008 23:24

I'm not sure about that cut though SHewillbeloved. I think it might make her look wider than she is. Its the skirt, on me that would be all hip-py. I like it though, but then I am a sucker for that kind of grey dress

S1ur · 27/04/2008 23:29

I know she looked at netaporter but...

this is over budget and lovely and sweet

still over budget, grey

there's this but I think this style doesn't show off much if you're not curvy

ooh red again, I like this

S1ur · 27/04/2008 23:31

I know I know its white but still very sexy I think

SheWillBeLoved · 27/04/2008 23:37

Ohh Slur, that first one is just stunning it's the type of dress i'd lock myself in the bedroom for, just for 5 minutes, while I prance about swishing the layers... until someone bursts in with sticky hands and dives straight at me

TillyScoutsmum · 28/04/2008 08:44

Slur - sorry to hear you're not wearing your dress - it did look stunning but sometimes mum knows best I suppose . No need to apologise - I'd happily sit and look at clothes etc all day (and frequently do ). Looking forward to seeing your new dress though

Pillow - few more for your sis to look at

lovely

pretty colour

stunning

similar to above

Pillow · 28/04/2008 21:50

She love love loves the Erotikristos one, as I thought, but not for this wedding. I've just sent her the Moschino one Slur which is utterly lovely.
