Morning All!

I worry he’ll outgrow Jojo soon, the tops he’s in are 5-6, they must come up very small.

I am currently in Chelsea peers modal pjs, £45 and a fat face dressing gown, £35 in the sale, drinking my coffee.

I have no idea what to wear today, it’s tipping and really windy, meant to be going out for a late lunch/early supper and think I’d be best off in waterproofs?!?

Boden was still really nice for kids when mine were small, and go up to 11/12ish - I don’t know if the quality of childrenswear has gone downhill, like the womenswear has though.

I am going to a (lunchtime!) wine tasting today and need to be smartish, but the weather is awful here too. I have this fancy raincoat:

so will obviously wear that, but no idea what underneath yet! Still drinking coffee in bed (again!).

@weareallcats love the coat, you really are a literary heroine! And yes I love Boden, currently he has 3 looks- cool scandi kid in trendy Zara and H&M, little gentleman in Trotters- chords and smart jumpers with a vintage car on and the Boden/Jojo bright colours and diggers look. Personally think he suit them all 🤣

It really is bloody cold today, the wind makes it so much worse! Hope everyone dry, safe and warm!

A group of us went to a lovely pub and ended up with a Saturday roast.

M&S fleece lined pleather straight leg trousers- £40 I think (I feel last year everyone was wearing pleather joggers and they’ve disappeared this year? I needed the fleece!!)
Uniqlo heat tech long sleeve top- £20
M&S wool cable knit jumper- £50 I think
Amazon wool socks- £10
&OS Chelsea boots- £150
Seelands fleece- £80?
Seelands coat- £150?
Longchamp backpack- £450ish
Uniqlo cashmere hat- £20

About to have a cup of tea and some gingerbread hobnobs and watch some rubbish on tv, I’ve got the heated blanket out!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/12/2024 19:22

Day at home today. Our Christmas tree was delivered via the local Round Table this morning (they sell them for charity) so have had a lovely day decorating that. Hoping the cat doesn’t do too much damage - he’s a rescue and this time last year was a little kitten living in a woman’s shed, so it’s his first tree.

Wearing:

Charcoal joggers - New Look, £20ish
Really beautiful mohair and wool fairisle jumper in reds and pinks, which I shrunk a bit last year and now doesn’t quite fit the way I like - H&M X Erdem collaboration, hunted down on Depop a few years back. I think I paid £40
Cream knit mohair socks - Pairs, about £12
Birkenstock Shearling lined Boston clogs - present
Grey M&S thermal top underneath, black M&S knickers, no bra. Usual Monica Vinader gold initial necklaces which I never take off, no other jewellery

Suzuki76 · 07/12/2024 20:23

Today I went to see Wicked with DH and wore:

White Stuff star jumper - £35
F&F straight jeans - £20
Grenson Nannette boots in brown - £200

good luck at Westfield today @LittleRedRidingHoody

I am just back from 2 kid’s birthday parties and truthfully I am feeling frazzled.

Frame skinnys- £270 (I know I know, skinnies! But genuinely they make me look like I’ve lost a stone! So much more flattering than wide leg etc.)

BA&SH sort fairisle jumper- gift from my mum
LK Bennett bargain knee length boots- £50
Seelands coat- £150?
longchamp le pliage tote- £120

I got Burberry goddess perfume in my advent calendar today and it smells glorious, so that’s my scent of the day!

will change into cashmere trousers from M&S- £100 once I’ve finished my cup of tea.

Does anyone here dress up on Christmas Day?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/12/2024 16:13

Been out for lunch wearing:

Navy alpaca jumper from &OS - about £80
White tee underneath also &OS - £19
Blue barrel leg jeans from Abercrombie - £85
Blue NB 574 trainers - bought BNIB on Depop, I think about £30
MV initial necklaces, Boho Moon evil eye necklace, chunky gold hoops from Oliver Bonas. Usual black underwear from Thought/Chantelle. Big Arket puffer when out, red quilted Cos bag, crochet scarf from Warehouse about 20 years ago

@Isitfridayyetsophie not dress-y up-y here, but I have a beautiful green cable knit jumper from Cos I bought which I have saved to wear on Christmas Day. It will be worn with jeans though.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 08/12/2024 17:50

Friends for lunch today:-

Grey Zara pocket jumper, navy Tu leggings, black vegan leather biker boots, gold glitter socks which you can’t see. Tu knickers and M&S bralette (non underwired bra).

Tomorrow meeting ex colleagues for drinks will wear black Whistles Annie sparkle jumper, knee length fine pleated black Zara skirt, Tu 70 denier luxury black tights, Oliver Bonas pewter/dark silver ankle boots (western). No idea about jewellery but might be unusual vintage pearl studs which have silver bigger pearls and might wear small silver pearl bow necklace.

Garlicpest · 08/12/2024 19:10

I'll sort-of dress up for Christmas Day, as in wearing something other than my usual comfy, shapeless stretch ensembles! I'm going to my very aged mother's for lunch with a couple of siblings. I'll do my hair & makeup (assuming I can remember how to 😉).

Haven't decided what to wear; I'm currently thinking red, though the reds I've got are more of an orangey red than scarlet. I've got some posh wool trousers in that shade, two or three tops, and the infamous Cos asymmetric dress. I'd need to put something over or under the dress and don't know what.

Having stoically resisted all the twinkly tops I only adore in December, I'm now wishing I'd got one! Jeans and a sparkly jumper are an easy Christmas classic ... <hides credit card>

LittleRedRidingHoody · 08/12/2024 19:22

Thanks @Isitfridayyetsophie ... it was rammed! 😅 But got everything I needed and more ~ picked up a few bits from Trotters on your recommendation in an effort to dress DS better/less like a Primark advert ~ forgot how nice it is in there 😂

Not sure what I'm wearing on Christmas Day ~ normally stick with PJs or the stretchiest waistband I can find, but have a few non-family guests this year, plus if DM is still in hospital (looking likely right now) I'll have to leave the house and visit - so I need to put some thought into it!

LittleRedRidingHoody · 08/12/2024 19:26

@Garlicpest also hiding mine 🙊 Have spent way too much recently between a US trip/this thread/Black Friday/Westfield, and yet my first thought when reading this message was - oooh! That's a good idea for Christmas Day - let me google and buy a nice sparkly jumper!

Isitfridayyetsophie · 08/12/2024 19:38

@Judystilldreamsofhorses oh sounds lovely, I love cable knit!

@Garlicpest yes sparkly jumper is a classic! I bought a few last year I’ll need to dig out. My mum suggested sequins for Christmas this year, I ended up buying a dress from M&S kids 🙈 https://www.marksandspencer.com/sequin-bow-dress-2-16-yrs-/p/clp60702881?color=BLACK#intid=pidpg1pip48g2r2c2 it’s baggy around the tummy so I can a lot. We’ve never done any form of theme or dressing up for Christmas before so this is a first! Made me interested in what others do! (Edit- pic coming up as the white dress. I have it in the dark colour)

@LittleRedRidingHoody yes I see why you’d be hiding a credit card after a trip to trotters. Gorgeous but 💸 I’m with you though, quite sure I’m usually in stretchy leggings!

That's really charming, @Isitfridayyetsophie. Am I misunderstanding, or are you wearing a child's dress? I thought you were 5'9" 😳

Wordau · 08/12/2024 21:15

ASOS black wide leg carpenter jeans via Vinted - £8
Weekday white t shirt - £10
Oversized green sweater vest from Zara - £0 as it was a gift
ASICS trainers via Vinted £36

Earlier was wearing seersucker wide leg cotton PJs from Tu - a bargainous £11 in the sale!

Not misunderstanding 🙈 I thought I’d trial opinions here before I mentioned to my mum, because I do have a sequin jumper I can wear instead! I’ve got the age 15-16 which seems to be a size 8/10, it’s about mid thigh length (same as most of my skirts/dresses really) and I’ll be wearing with opaque tights. I won’t be showing off my bum!

Cool - a VAT-free sparkly tunic with a sweet bow! Nice work!

🤣 now wondering why I’ve never looked at the kid’s range before… anyway I’m unlikely to wear this much sequin again so at least it’s not £.
