Jeans - £60 John Lewis
T-shirt - £12ish - Weekday
Sweatshirt - £10 - Boden from Oxfam
Trainers - £70 Stan Smiths
Bra and pants - about £15 M&S
Socks - Christmas present
So £167

Tarantella6 · 02/11/2024 08:34

I'm dressed for Parkrun so probably £30, £10 of which is my socks.

Tooffless · 02/11/2024 08:36

Jeans,£14 from Asda
Vest top £3 Primark
Knitted jumper £8 Primark
Socks, gifted
Knickers and bra, so old I have no idea.

Willsnbills · 02/11/2024 08:36

Currently in bed wearing pyjama pants that were part of a set from Primark approximately 6 for them and a Uniqlo thin layer thermal top that Mum gave me.

Mishmag · 02/11/2024 08:37

I’m not dressed yet but if I wear what I’m planning to:
Jeans £42 ( top shop via asos)
Long sleeved tshirt £10 (Sainsbury’s)
Jumper £8.42 (Joules via vinted)
Bra £6 (matalan)
Pants £1 (matalan)
Socks £1 (sock shop 5 for £5 kids)
Doc Martens £40 (children’s, in the sale about 3 years ago, still over the moon with my bargain!)
Coat will add another £48 (Craghoppers. Vinted again)

It’s interesting how much it all adds up to, I’d have guessed lower!

Grepes · 02/11/2024 08:40

Can’t remember the last time I was dressed, let alone had shoes on at 8.30 on a Saturday! I’m in a very old soft cotton vest dress I have repurposed as a nightie. I think it was £40, it’s been washed so much it’s almost like silk now!!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 02/11/2024 08:41

Breton shirt - about £40 equivalent from
French shop
Jeans - about £50 from Weird Fish
Chunky socks - £9 for 3 pairs from Sainsbury's, years ago
Solovair boots - £170 ish
Barbour jacket - £250 ish - was a joint Christmas and birthday present last year.

£510 ish by the time I'm suited and booted to go out in a couple of minutes.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 02/11/2024 08:43

That's a very costly outfit for me. The boots and Barbour are "forever clothes". My clothes are often 100% Vinted > £50!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/11/2024 08:51

Today will be a lazy sort of day. I’m getting my Covid jab and then doing some sewing. I’ll probably wear:
leggings - All Saints about £40
slouchy t-shirt - All Saints sale £38
merino cardigan - charity shop White Company- £15
coat - M&S I think it was about £65
DMs - £120
scarf - Zara - about £20

Beepbeepoutoftheway · 02/11/2024 08:52

Some of your outfits cost more than my full wardrobe! 🙈🙈

Blackcountryexile · 02/11/2024 08:56

Great idea for a thread..
Sweatshirt Tescos from a few years ago about £12
Trousers. Sainsburys 25% off £9
Socks Sainsburys multi pack 25% off so probably £1.50
Pants Morrisons multi pack in sale so maybe £2
Bra M&S from a few years ago so about £15.
Slippers £6 in Next sale.
More of a bargain hunter than fashionista!

Fireworknight · 02/11/2024 09:00

About to get dressed to take dog out.

T - shirt - £12
Walking trousers £40
fleece. - £25

SpiderMother · 02/11/2024 09:05

This makes me feel bad because my outfit is expensive. But most of that comes from my boots. They are Russell & Bromley and cost me around £200 - but that was 4 years ago and they still look as good as new and I haven't bought black boots since, I used to use StyleBook and seeing the price per wear gives a different perspective sometimes.

AgathaMystery · 02/11/2024 09:06

I love these threads. I get so many new ideas.

Right now I’m wearing some Monoprix pyjamas €25 but today I’m going to wear:

DM Leonore boots £180 (£45 vinted)
M&S Ivy skinny jeans £32.50
Whistles white double trim t shirt £38 (£4 vinted)
Red sezane cardi £130 (£11 charity shop)
black & white David Neiper merino scarf £85 (£7 charity shop)
Mackintosh classic trench coat £895 (FREE !!)

I am trying very hard not to buy any new clothes. I did get a jumper on Sainsbury yesterday as have been lusting after David Tennant’s red/white one in the Rivals press junket videos.

I don’t think you should feel bad. Most of us have been dressing ourselves for decades and know what we like and what a good investment piece costs. My boots were £45 unworn on vinted but I’d have saved up and paid £180 new as, like you, I know I’m going to be in them for years. Same with a Barbour. My oldest one was purchased in 1991. It’s still absolutely fine, my newest one is 14years old. These pieces last forever.

henlake7 · 02/11/2024 09:14

@henlake7 My aunt!! She has so many clothes we call her house ‘the archive’ - this is a 20yr old coat that she’d never worn. The sleeves were still stuffed with tissue paper!!

Had it dry cleaned and it really brightened it up. I couldn’t believe it actually. Looks like this www.mackintosh.com/us/shopping/muirkirk-honey-cotton-trench-coat-lm-1011fd-14042057
