Isitfridayyetsophie · 08/12/2024 21:31

Not misunderstanding 🙈 I thought I’d trial opinions here before I mentioned to my mum, because I do have a sequin jumper I can wear instead! I’ve got the age 15-16 which seems to be a size 8/10, it’s about mid thigh length (same as most of my skirts/dresses really) and I’ll be wearing with opaque tights. I won’t be showing off my bum!

What a great idea! I doubt anyone would realise it was from the kids section unless you told them - it’s a very cute dress.

henlake7 · 08/12/2024 22:40

It Def is worth veering into the kids section every so often (and that's a very cute dress!). I find the men's section good for a few bits too.

Undies-yes!
Primark fluffy socks-£2
Primark fur lined black leggings-£7
Primark long sleeved top-£4
(And again!) Primark red, white and black stripey jumper-£8
Tu black corduroy pinafore dress-£3(Vinted)
New Look black knee high boots -£30 sale
(Coat was from Dotty Ps and 15 yrs old)

BadForBusiness · 08/12/2024 23:12

My favourite T shirt is from the H&M teenage boys department, a boxy shape with a geeky design which I couldn't resist while shopping for DS, cost me about a tenner.

Most of the socks that DH and I wear are ones DS has grown out of.

BigSkies2022 · 09/12/2024 09:32

@Isitfridayyetsophie we are having two Christmas events this year - full fam on 21st and just us plus my parents on the day. I will be dressing (by my standards) for both! These days, the only place I can manage heels is at home. I'll be doing heels/fancy loafers, Frankie Shop skirt on one day, silk shirts (once the food is sorted and spitting fat no longer a risk), painted nails and glam jewellery (Philippe Ferrandis), all the better to hold the Villeroy and Bosch martini glasses. In fact, I have to up my hand cream application to prepare, as my hands are suffering from the current bout of DIY and gardening.

Isitfridayyetsophie · 09/12/2024 11:28

@weareallcats my hair will hide the bow I think, anyway it’s a bit different for me!

@henlake7 I’ll definitely look now I know I fit in to the M&S sizes.am tempted to check out Zara now! A whole new world of shopping opportunities!

@BadForBusiness and boy’s section too! Wouldn’t have thought to look but I will now!

@BigSkies2022 this sounds like great fun and love the idea of 2 Christmases, outfits and accessories sound lovely. Love villeroy and boch too!

Isitfridayyetsophie · 09/12/2024 11:31

I had total getting dressed fatigue this morning, looked at my clothes and just thought meh. All I’m doing is a kid’s music class that’s Christmas themed and we came home via the park!

Have ended up in:
Zara jeans- £40
H&M long sleeve top- £10
Primark Christmas jumper- £10 about 15 years ago
Toteme jacket- £700 ish, I’ve forgotten
m&S cashmere scarf- £60?
Ugg tasmans- £120

Garlicpest · 09/12/2024 12:57

I had total getting dressed fatigue today, as well - though it's a lot more usual for me and the outcome's less stylish 😏 Remembered a thick, cable-patterned, cocoa-brown acrylic sweater dress I got for £4.50 from my favourite cheapskate store, everything5pounds, and am wearing it with some huge, fluffy Christmas socks someone must have given me at some point. Total £4.50.

I've now added £150 worth of my random gold rings and am always wearing £26 of gold ear studs (three of these, but with a screw-on ball instead of a butterfly).

9ct Yellow Gold Pair 4mm Light Weight Ball Studs

Made in 9ct Yellow Gold Sold as a pair Secure post and butterfly fastening Highly polished finish Perfect for everyday wear The class.. - Product Code : XAA 2001 , Price : 12.53 GBP

Hat and scarf, Superdry - £55? But old.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 09/12/2024 13:54

WFH today, it's so cold. Wearing:

Blue wide leg jeans - Abercrombie - about £80
Purple, lilac and orange chunky knit jumper - Cara and the Sky - was £85 I think but I bought it with Christmas money last year
White tee underneath - Arket £18
Black vest under that - Uniqlo heat-tech, no idea how much but it's old and not warm enough!
Cashmere wrist warmer things - Turtle Doves, can't remember
Birkenstock shearling clogs - present
Usually MV necklaces plus a big chunky gold chain from Whistles. Black pants and a black sports bra - I need to do a YT workout later. Yellow knit socks from Pairs.

Isitfridayyetsophie · 10/12/2024 09:33

@Garlicpest oh wow those earrings are a good find, such a good price!

@weareallcats oh I really love that dress, no wonder you were complimented!

I am so grumpy and cold today, I can’t warm up, my coffee tasted bad and I’ve got more getting dressed fatigue. I presume (hope!) this is hormonal! We have Christmas at Kew today. In the rain no doubt. Must cheer up.

Frame skinnies again- £270
M&S Heat Tech long sleeve top- £28
Holland Cooper fair isle polo neck- £150

When we go out I’ll wear:
fleecy welly socks, Hunter, I’m really not sure how much. £30?
Le Chameau wellies £100? I’m not sure, I don’t like thinking about the cost of boring things like wellies!
Seeland coat- £150
Uniqlo cashmere hat- £20, there’s no point washing my hair if I’m going to get rained so this will hide it!

happytobemrsg · 10/12/2024 11:28

Sorry I’ve been awol. I felt sorry for myself never wearing anything nice 😔

Slight variation today

Flared leggings - £17 - New Look
Tshirt - £7 - Aware
Lightweight hoodie - £20ish - Wednesday’s Child
Fluffy socks - gift - Primark

The problem is I have a gyno problem which means I can’t wear anything tight near my crotch area. So no jeans, tight fitting trousers etc. leggings are ok as they are stretchy. That’s why if I’m at home I’m usually wearing PJs. I gave up jeans about 3 years ago when my problems started. It’s a bit of a pain - I miss them!!

I have a meeting at DCs (crazy hot) school later so will change into a new outfit for that

LittleRedRidingHoody · 10/12/2024 14:33

@happytobemrsg oh no! FWIW I always look forward to seeing your posts when you do manage to 🙂 To be fair I'd be happy with an all-PJs thread, they always make me feel so cozy and jealous to read!

@weareallcats fab dress!

@Isitfridayyetsophie have fun at Kew! Are you a fan of your wellies? I need a proper pair (I have dinky ankle Merry People ones) and haven't found any calling me yet!

Today is lots of errands/school runs and life admin. I'm going to Paris tomorrow (must leave personal Credit Card behind!) for work which I've stupidly booked the first Eurostar out/early evening return to minimise childcare I needed to find. Regretting that now, as I try to find a chic yet comfy outfit to wear for 18 hours out of the house 😂

Primark leggings, £8?
H&M knitted cable dress, £28
Fluffy Primark socks, £2

Adding when outside:
Fairfax and Favour boots, £470
Reiss coat, £340
Ted baker crossbody, £160 and stripey tote from favourite farm shop, £25 (I never put bags! Must remember to add)

All from my very favourite House of Primarni!😎

happytobemrsg · 10/12/2024 15:06

Thank you @LittleRedRidingHoody that’s really kind. I just didn’t want to bore everyone with yet another PJs & fluffy socks ensemble 😂 Just wait until Friday, I have a proper outfit planned for then 🤭
