@Garlicpest oh no! Sorry about the pain, is it something that get worse in the rain? (Strange question perhaps, but I’ve noticed my ankles and knees hurt when it rains, I feel achey if I get caught in the rain so can only imagine any pre existing pain being exacerbated!) I hope you’re feeling better now. Thanks for sharing the jacket link, I’m looking for a long line water proof jacket, I don’t want it lined as I want to be able to put it on top of a coat and use it when it’s hot and wet, there’s one on site that seems to tick boxes. Alex Jones puts me off though 😬

Garlicpest · 05/12/2024 21:12

So envious of your coat, @weareallcats. I fell in love with this one when I first saw it. For me, though, it's a bit like falling in love with George Clooney - never gonna happen 😂 I'm oddly pleased that someone I 'know' is swishing around in it!

Garlicpest · 05/12/2024 21:19

Thank you, @Isitfridayyetsophie. Never thought about it but, actually, I'm hurting a lot less now I'm warm and dry! I like a 'walking jacket' for the same reasons - lightweight and doesn't roast you. Back when I did go for long walks, I learned you need taped seams and all those pocket/placket flaps to keep the rain out, and a mesh lining. This one has 'em all.

weareallcats · 05/12/2024 15:47

Oh I love everything, especially the Bora skirt & toast jumper 🤩

Isitfridayyetsophie · 05/12/2024 21:52

@weareallcats I’ve just clicked on the coat and I love it, there’s a woman who I see often I think in this exact coat and she wears it with a layered skirt, DMs, she has round glasses and wears a her hair in a messy bun and her hair is all curly and I always think she looked like she’s the heroine of a book! This is now how I’m picturing you!!!

Edit- oh the jumper 🤩 that’s right up street. Why have I not looked at toast before? Is it proper hand wash or can you get away with the wool setting on the washing machine?

@Garlicpest my perfect jacket would be bum covering for all the days I’m in leggings, I’m a bit over 5ft 9 so imagine the jacket doesn’t… but it ticks all the other boxes and it’s such a good price…

endingintiers · 05/12/2024 22:07

£3 tights
£15 vintage boots

Toast is great! I haven’t washed it yet - try to always wear something underneath - but I will do it in the machine on a delicate cycle with temp and spin as low as they will go when the time comes. Donegal has it’s own smell and doesn’t really pick up odours in the way other fabrics do, so you just have to be careful not to spill anything on it!

thewrongsister · 05/12/2024 22:29

I'm in an expensive outfit today. Sometimes it's around £30 for everything, it all depends where things have come from and whether I'm wearing jewellery or a coat.

Hair scrunchie £3
Earrings (tatt) £2
Diamond/gold ring (second hand) £100
& Other Stories jumper £95
Nobody's Child jeans £60
Bra £5
Tu Knickers £10
Nobody's Child Socks £15
Boots (plastic) £10
Bag (canvas) £10
Tu Coat £60

£370 total

weareallcats · 05/12/2024 22:31

And yes, I do dress a bit like I am cosplaying as a literary heroine sometimes 😂.

BigSkies2022 · 06/12/2024 07:31

@Isitfridayyetsophie will have a look at Frankie Shop on net-a-porter - I wonder if they can slough off the import taxes? Agree the shoulders are a bit mad (especially on those Wegovy-reduced models) and I cannot see myself in the leather hot-pants; but soooo much is desirable, and the colours sumptuous.

Yes, the bags from The Tannery are good quality, or at least they were - the ones I own are around 10 years old.

Today another day of DIY and gardening, so nothing of interest to report on clothing choices.

Supersimkin7 · 06/12/2024 09:42

@BigSkies2022 thank you re the bag. You know I’ve never checked prices between their website and net a porter!

Got a banging headache today that tablets aren’t touching. Just tried full fat Coke and a pack of crisps, that’s meant to help, isn’t it?

Sezane jeans- £90
Sporty & Richy sweatshirt- £120
Adidas sambas- £100ish?
Arket football manager coat- £270
Mansur Gavriel everyday tote- £500

special shoutout to my son in head to toe jojo mama bebe- he’s in a (very low amount of) cashmere mix Christmas jumper and it is SO soft I wonder if they do adult size!

Has anyone heard of or bought from Loop before? I got a pair of their cashmere socks in my advent calendar today and they’re lovely- am looking at their jumpers. A bit spendy but I’m a sucker for cashmere, am wondering about quality.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 06/12/2024 16:40

Have only just showered/redressed after a stressful all-nighter in Hospital with DM (another minor stroke, she's not very well overall but will recover fine from this we think 🤞) S/O for MN for the mindless scrolling when I needed it 😂 Will give myself 10 mins on the sofa and then will get DS from his after school club and head to a winter lights show - I'm too cheap to cancel when the tickets are non-refundable!

@Isitfridayyetsophie I loved Jojo when DS was smaller! I feel like we need a thread to share kids outfits too - so much taste and style on these threads, and I need more inspiration beyond the endless vinted bundles we end up with!

M&S padded vest and pants, £12?
Lined Alo leggings, retail at £108 here but were a gift
Happy Socks, advent calendar
Merry People boots, £90
Next Christmas jumper, £25
M&S duvet coat, £125
Handmade Wooly Santa hat, gift

@weareallcats this popped up on my IG feed and I thought oh that’s a nice jumper… I was just looking at it! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDPlq4Rsf7O/?igsh=MThrZzM2bm1wYThkaQ==

@LittleRedRidingHoody oh no, so sorry to hear. Sounds horribly stressful, glad she should make a recovery. Horrid having a parent in hospital, wishing you all good health! Hope your son’s nativity went well? Enjoy the light show- we are at Kew next week and they’ve posted online saying they’re closed for the weekend so am hoping the storm goes by Tuesday!

Toast linen top - £95

Seasalt beret - £30

Now accessorising with a glass of rose while dh sorts dinner!

weareallcats · 06/12/2024 18:11

@Isitfridayyetsophie I too used to love Jojo and always feel a bit wistful when I walk past! Mine are teens now - I’m lucky if they wear something other than a hoodie.

Never heard of Loop - off to look!

@LittleRedRidingHoody sorry about your mum - wishing her a speedy recovery.

happytobemrsg · 06/12/2024 18:17

Wearing same old leggings/hoodie today so nothing new to report 😔

It’s a fab jumper! I would swelter in it at a Christmas party though! Maybe more suited to a light trail at Kew!

LittleRedRidingHoody · 06/12/2024 20:06

Thanks @weareallcats and @Isitfridayyetsophie !

Yes nativity went well thank goodness, though DS got the giggles halfway through so the rock was vibrating a little 😂 Have fun at Kew @Isitfridayyetsophie! We went last year but have opted for Ashridge House this year as it's a bit closer for us. Very good but will probs do Kew again next year. They've cancelled tomorrow due to the weather, hopefully nothing gets damaged 🤞

forgivingfiggy · 06/12/2024 21:19
