Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/12/2024 21:39

Black running leggings - Nike - about £30 I think
Black vest top - Arket, no idea how much
Big charcoal mohair knit - H&M, about £50
White sports socks, no idea where from
Adidas Astir trainers - about £80
Sports bra, black knickers. Arket football manager coat to go out, and also a grey Topshop beanie hat because I hadn’t washed my hair

Tshirt - £7 - Aware
Leggings - £45 - JD Sport
Waterproof trainers - £160 - On Cloud

Hope the appointment went well! How are your On Clouds, if I can ask? I'm so tempted!

Isitfridayyetsophie · 04/12/2024 21:43

@LittleRedRidingHoody ha imagine if you were there and we recognised each other through outfits! It really wasn’t that busy considering we’re near Christmas. Can’t tell if that’s good or bad?!

@weareallcats i don’t blame with you with Christmas shopping, I would like to delay it too but we’re meeting up with my husband’s side a week before Christmas so need to be prepped a bit early. And the tasmans are fab, I will say they feel quite rigid when you first wear them, the sole is so thick there’s not much bend, but they do get softer with time. I think I’ve had mine for 3 years now? The woman in ugg must have known id panic under pressure because she said Gigi hadid had just been photographed in them so they’ll sell out imminently! 🤣

@happytobemrsg yeah I really love that look of hoody/leggings/uggs. I was a teen in the 00s so basically grew up wearing them so am used to the chunkiness. I’ve got quite slim calves and to my eye they look nice on, not sure if anyone else agrees though!

@Radyward my feet felt cold at the thought of sandals in the rain!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses the best thing about this weather is dragging hair wash day out because all sorts can be hidden under a hat!

I am now in boden pjs, gift so don’t know the price but they are so comfortable. Trying to get an early night!

Mrscharlieeeee · 04/12/2024 22:02

@LittleRedRidingHoody ahh thank you! I'll wear pretty much anything as long as it comes in black 🖤

happytobemrsg · 05/12/2024 00:19

@LittleRedRidingHoody Thank you, I got some very good test results so I’m happy! It’s been an anxious wait. I have two pairs of On Clouds. Both are slip ons, in pearl and black (the black are waterproof). They are the comfiest trainers I have ever worn. Can literally walk miles in them straight from the box. I honestly can see me never needing any other trainers (just all of the colours of these 😄)

@Isitfridayyetsophie do you think I’m a bit late to the party? Will they be dated soon? I think the mini boot & Tasmans are most popular? Any advice on which would be easier to wear? Wow that’s a lot of questions. Sorry!

Mrscharlieeeee · 05/12/2024 08:18

Todays OOTD:

Snag tights £10
Zara black turtleneck £35 I think?
Primark leopard print smock dress £15 ish
New Rocks platform boots £165
YSL Niki bag £2000 ish
Simply Be houndstooth long coat £90

Bit of a spenny day but I love the Niki bag, I bought it with a bonus I got a couple of years ago and I'll use it until it's falling apart which hopefully will be when I'm very old!

LittleRedRidingHoody · 05/12/2024 09:55

@Isitfridayyetsophie I think I'll brave it this weekend 😬 A few bits I want to pick up in person, and DS is a sucker for the little red cars you can hire.

@happytobemrsg so glad for the good test results! It's always a relief :) I'm adding the Ons to my wishlist 😅

WFH today (as most days) ~ early pickup for DS at 2, and then will sneak in a soft play before his Nativity play this evening 🌟 Honorary OOTD for DS - a creatively cut bin bag so he can be a rock. Such an important role in the story 🥲🤣

M&S sports bra, £18 and Primark undies, £2
M&S joggers, £12
Festival T-shirt, £25
Primark quarter zip, £11 (unbelievably soft, must buy more)
Happy socks (advent calendar!)

Will add ASICS £125 and M&S duvet coat, £120 when I go out. Stay warm everyone 🥶

Isitfridayyetsophie · 05/12/2024 10:34

@happytobemrsg i don’t think so, they still seem so popular and even when they weren’t in fashion, when it got cold I’d wear a pair because they are so toasty! Something like the tasmans can just be worn as usual slippers if they really go out though. The account databutmakeitfashion on IG just did a post about the increase of ugg searches this week.

@LittleRedRidingHoody aw how cute, a nativity rock! I saw a post on here that someone’s child got the role of a door? 🤣 we’ve got a nativity singalong at nursery next week and I’m so excited, have a lovely time!

Nursery run today, meeting my dad for lunch as my mum’s out with her girlfriends today!

Sezane jeans- £90
H&M long sleeve top- £10
Mango half zip jumper- £30
M&S Wool coat- £69
LV pochette Metis- £2kish

potentially an Acne scarf? Might be too mild. Not sure what sure shoes to wear, wore le chameau wellies to nursery and my boiled in my north face coat, horrible and wet here!

weareallcats · 05/12/2024 11:56

I have a late start on Thursdays so I am still in bed drinking coffee and filling fantasy baskets on various websites!

Joanie pyjamas - I think £39 in the sale.

Huge, amazing mug from Loaf - £16 - get one if you like huge mugs, it’s the best one I’ve ever had!

https://loaf.com/products/wobblins-mega-mug?source=plp

Will update when I get dressed!

Wobblins Mega Mug | Large Ceramic Mug | Loaf

No straight lines on this mug. Just perfectly imperfect wobbles and a lovely reactive glaze for character.

As I put my Celtic and Co boots on AGAIN I thought of this thread and how it really illustrates how hard working some wardrobe items are, with a really good cost per wear, even if they were fairly expensive in the first place (and the opposite too, I guess).

Toast dress - £155 (first wear and LOVE it)

Arket cardigan - £87 (newish purchase, but already worn a lot - it’s in one of my very best colours - a warm, muted green - so I often chuck it on if I’m wearing black or another colour where I need a bit of a lift. Also looks good with dungarees, which I wear quite a lot - not always easy to find a jumper/jacket that works).

Seasalt tights - about £15 on 3 for 2.

Celtic and Co boots - £225

Going out to dinner and a (classical) concert tonight, so might swap the cardi for my very beautiful, very florid Cabbages and Roses kilty coat - £900. Another item that proves my point above - I will keep it forever, but I doubt I will wear it much, as it is so fancy.

Comefromaway · 05/12/2024 14:21

Whereas my Max Mara coat (retailing at over £1,000 in the Selfridges but I bought it direct from MM in Holland and with the exchange rate and tax refund only cost £800) I'm wearing it a lot. It's a classic navy double breasted and I am wearing to work, out shopping, to the theatre etc. I only wear my puffer coat if it is raining heavily, snowing, I'm out walking the dog or I'm going to a pub/club where it will be on the back of my chair. Other than that I shall wear it most days in the winter.

happytobemrsg · 05/12/2024 15:23

I love the sounds of your outfits @weareallcats. Would you like to share any pics?

@LittleRedRidingHoody I don’t think my boys have specific parts in this years nativity though there appears to be lots of singing involved 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think I was Mary about 3 times!

@Isitfridayyetsophie I’ll definitely think about some uggs. Problem is I’ve wandered on to the fragrance threads on here…. 💰💰💰

happytobemrsg · 05/12/2024 15:25

At home today. Glad as it seems very gloomy outside.

PJs - £28 sale - Chelsea Peers
Hoodie - £38 sale - Abercrombie
Fluffy socks - gift - Primark
Slippers - £20ish - M&S

BigSkies2022 · 05/12/2024 16:16

I have been living in merino base layers, ageing tracksuit pants and elderly jumpers to do DIY, exam prep and gardening recently, so not posted. But today I had to go on splurgy Christmas errands (butcher run number one, plus Waitrose for naice things in jars and the bottles of booze for the cocktails I'll be serving), so to celebrate I put on:
MaxMara black trousers - sort of wide, but not really, just hang nicely - £280
New Eric Bompard black cashmere/silk mix polo - £265 (but a gift from DH)
Russell & Bromley fancy chunky loafers - £325 (I think)
Black socks with a bit of a sparkle - £7, local indy shop
Marimekko coat - black and white - dunno, too long ago. £180-ish.
Apple green Birkin-esqe bag - Italian, from The Tannery in Holt - £150 in sale
Plum cashmere scarf JL - about £120.

Usual combo of M&S/Uniqlo underwear and layers - about £40

I usually start my day with a cup of coffee, my phone and laptop in bed, doing all my admin. This part of the day has started to include a visit to The Frankie Shop online. I lurve it. So far, I have managed to restrain myself to buying just one skirt from there (the import taxes and postage costs present an additional barrier), but the site is an inspiration for shopping from your wardrobe (I like their palette of chocolate browns, plums, blacks, charcoals, so I have a lot of these colours already).

Back in slob gear now, ready to do some more floor sanding.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 05/12/2024 16:34

@BigSkies2022 loving the idea of an elderly jumper 😂😆 ~ and splurgy Christmas errands are the best kind! 😍 My fave is just before Christmas I'll do an early morning London run (I'm Home Counties) for my fave bakery and fancy crackers from selfridges. Totally batshit as I could easily order online, but somewhat a tradition now. You've made me want to dress up this year!

BigSkies2022 · 05/12/2024 16:51

@LittleRedRidingHoody - do it, dress to the nines! nails and everything! London will be in its Christmas finery, so you do the same. We don't go big on presents at Christmas, so the budget goes on food, drink, making the house look lovely, turning up the heating (when did that start being a luxury, eh?) and this year, in no small way inspired by this thread, I am planning outfits as well!

Changeyourfuckingcar · 05/12/2024 16:54

Very cold, wet and windy today!
Light blue skinny jeans - H&M mama range via Vinted - £8ish I think
Black leather Chelsea boots - Raid (they do a great wide range!) via Vinted - £9
Navy blue tank top - George maternity range - £5
Chunky roll-neck cream jumper - hand knitted by my absolutely wonderful GM - priceless
I also bought myself a new coat today so wore that for the latter part of the day! The ‘Audrey’ khaki padded long coat from trespass, reduced to £51 or something and honestly like wearing a duvet! I sized up so have plenty of space for Bump… for now 😅

Isitfridayyetsophie · 05/12/2024 20:29

@Comefromaway MaxMara are timeless imo! I wore MaxMara when I was working, it doesn’t really suit my current lifestyle (too much mud and sticky fingers!) but my cost per wear, even with it having a rest in my wardrobe, will be a low. I feel the same way about my wedding jewellery, that gets more cost per wear than anything!

@happytobemrsg oh no I can’t look at those threads, I only have about 8 perfumes but they’re all £££ and I can’t be tempted to buy more!

@BigSkies2022 oh I know the shop in Holt, it had loads of bags that looked mulberry esque, are you happy with the quality? I buy Frankie shop from net a porter usually, I like their stuff too, but some of the shoulders are a bit too bold for me at the moment!

@weareallcats sitting on my hands to not order that cardigan!

Garlicpest · 05/12/2024 20:49

I got caught in the storm. It was pretty challenging as, although a short walk, I'm in all sorts of pain today - I needed Drambuie for the final stages of my Christmas cake (I make them as gifts) and missed the Amazon delivery!

I was wearing the same tan cords as last week, with a yellow Cotton Traders jacket that deserves a mention - my shoes, socks and trousers were drenched through, literally wringing wet, but the jacket fended off the driving rain despite being frequently worn for 4 years and never re-proofed. Not bad for £50; I only wish it had been full-length!

I like the wry little smiles people give each other when battling through horizontal rain & wind 😏
