I've stalking the Chintia and Parker website for their new Christmas jumpers and they have arrived! I'd love nearly everyone of them, but will be ordering at least 3!!

I bought one last year. It's lovely quality. Christmassy enough and fits beautifully. J'adore Christmas. You might not like them but the hate for them? Bit weird over a Christmas jumper.

Probably based on the OP's OTT reaction to a twee jumper?

Resitinas · 25/10/2024 07:12

They're awful. They look like pyjamas and if I saw someone wearing one, I'd think it had come from a supermarket like Asda George tbh. But it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks - if you like them and can afford them, have them!

EnterAUsername · 25/10/2024 07:17

When you're spending £250 on one very plain boring and badly fitted jumper, the words should be clearly identifiable at the very least, considering that's its only adornment.

I mean, this is really poor.

Omg i love it. This is MN at its finest, had a great laugh with my DH and DK about the bitter replies. Will make a great story for my next luncheon and dinner event, so thank you, screen shots will be v v amusing while the bol flows, love it, free entertainment xx

You're the entertainment, my dear. You're blind if you can't see it.

Porridgeislife · 25/10/2024 07:48

They’re sort of tacky, even if they are cashmere.

You can get exactly the same style at a supermarket for <£20.

LaurieFairyCake · 25/10/2024 08:04

They're lovely 🥰

Very QVC, dahhhling

If the OP isn't employed at Chinti and Parker, but just has a weird obsession with them, then I feel quite sorry for the company. If she's employed to do this, then that is just embarrassing for them.

Luncheon? Bol? Tripled your salary?

Are you not just a bit embarrassed by all this OP? I guess some people just have no shame.

People are seriously still into Snoopy?!

A Charlie Brown Christmas is a big thing in the States, obviously trying to appeal to that market

ClytemnestraWasMisunderstood · 25/10/2024 10:12

PucaBandearg · 24/10/2024 18:34

If companies are making it, there's obviously a market for it 🤷

Ilovetea33 · 25/10/2024 04:21

No need to diss Snoopy though.

Indeed. I'd have the Snoopy elf one happily if it was decent quality at £50, which is all I require of a Christmas jumper LOL.

How does this work? Is it going to be a PowerPoint presentation of the mumsnet thread and comments? Will she print them out and distribute to her friends? Or will they be huddled round a phone?

Either way, it sounds wildly exciting!! I’ve seen similar with teenagers doing this on the back of the bus.

'Luncheon' made me laugh too. A touch of the Hyacinths, I think Grin

PickAChew · 25/10/2024 12:15

How's the hangover, @Thudercatsrule ?

Shityshitybangbang · 25/10/2024 13:00

Luncheon? Iv not heard that word since 1982

Bignanna · 25/10/2024 14:26

OP- we get it that you buy them just because you can, and I could understand it if there were exceptional, but they aren’t- they’re very ordinary, while the chain store ones are good value for money, and most important of all- fun!

From the lenghth and content of OP's posting history she is a middle aged woman, approaching 50.

I'm older than that and the only time I say luncheon is in the context of highly processed sandwich meat made from lips and bumholes. I'm not even sure you can buy that any more, unless it's still possible to buy Billy Bear slices.

OP's posting history is quite interesting, mind.

Quite. The intern is clearly lifting her vocabulary direct from Ab Fab.

Something tells me she will not be invited back onto the graduate program at C&P?

Google suggests the vile stuff still exists.
The only other use of the word was 'luncheon vouchers' which I thought were a thing of the past but apparently still exist.

Maybe the op is a fan of subsidised spam?Grin

user47 · 25/10/2024 17:56

I am a 50yo woman and NO ONE says luncheon, ever. My grandma is over a hundred and would find it absurd.
