I've stalking the Chintia and Parker website for their new Christmas jumpers and they have arrived! I'd love nearly everyone of them, but will be ordering at least 3!!

@Thudercatsrule can you please feed back to your bosses that a 16 shouldn't really be classed as a 3XL <ffs> Confused

I'm older than that and the only time I say luncheon is in the context of highly processed sandwich meat made from lips and bumholes. I'm not even sure you can buy that any more, unless it's still possible to buy Billy Bear slices.

Google suggests the vile stuff still exists.
The only other use of the word was 'luncheon vouchers' which I thought were a thing of the past but apparently still exist.

Maybe the op is a fan of subsidised spam?Grin

Is it possible that one of those jumpers has 'Subsidised Spam' emblazoned across it? After all, the font is so poor it's hard to tell?

OP's posting history is quite interesting, mind.

That's an understatement.

LouH5 · 25/10/2024 19:35

I’m curious to see the posting history- how do I do this?!?

I’m a little surprised OP isn’t going for this one

Ha ha

I must admit though, some of the things that she says are what I'm probably thinking as I close so many threads down without commenting! I don't think it's helpful or necessary to express every thought that comes into your head.

When you're spending £250 on one very plain boring and badly fitted jumper, the words should be clearly identifiable at the very least, considering that's its only adornment.

I mean, this is really poor.

Noee

purplebeansprouts · 26/10/2024 03:34

I think they used to sell the snoopy ones in Harrods but that might have been a different brand. I remember seeing some very expensive snoopy jumpers there because I love snoopy

ExhaustedHousewife · 26/10/2024 10:21

How is this thread still here? Reported.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 26/10/2024 11:21

For what reason have you reported it @ExhaustedHousewife ? Several posters have established that OP is a long term MN user.

She isn't mentioning she's affiliated to this company.

I like a little festive sparkle but am not a Christmas jumper person. However,

I've had a couple of Chinti & Parker non-xmas sweaters and I have to say, the quality is pretty crap. They've ended up in the donation pile.

Jilly Cooper wrote "Class" in 1980 and said that her mother would say "luncheon" while Jilly herself thought it was obsolete and said "lunch".

Bloody hell, though - imagine the teeth-grinding tedium of going to any event with someone who thinks showing screenshots of MN is great fun 🙄
There's not enough "bol" in the world.
Also: "bol"? This is someone who would also say "fizz" and "champoo" and complain that "the bubbles go up my nose <tinkle>"

I was thinking this!
Mumsnet is great for a little scroll whilst watching TV or relaxing at home, but if at a social event my friends starting sharing mumsnet screenshots I’d be bored rigid and wonder what happened to all the fun we used to have!

I think the ‘bol’ (judging by the people thinking being huddled around a phone reading posts on a website is the height of sophistication) is short for Bols Blue, the blue curacao used to turn the 2-4-1 cocktails blue as served at their Wetherspoons luncheon/dinner.

PickAChew · 24/10/2024 21:38

Please tell us why you stay, then, and how you have so much spare time on a 300k salary.

They pay her 300k?

Fuck me they could pay someone that to design decent jumpers

That does make sense.

Or it could be Bol for bollocks from the swinging clubs.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 26/10/2024 16:58

The reference to Bol certainly went over my head - I was thinking Spag Bol and had visions of her family slopping spaghetti everywhere.

HarrietBond · 26/10/2024 17:36

I thought it was Bolly, as in Ab Fab, ‘I’ve got the Bolly, darling’.

"Neee" 🤷‍♀️🤣

I read it as "Noee"....
