Stylish WFH clothes

I'm looking for some warm, comfy WFH clothes but that are still stylish that don't make me feel like Waynetta Slob!! I still want to feel stylish but warm as it's cold in the house during the day and I refuse to put the heating on yet 😂

Not clothes, but I use a heated blanket over my lap so that I can stay warm during the day when on video calls

I mean, I wear clothes too obviously! I just mean the heated blanket is part of my solution

Oh yes, I'm always wrapped up! But I either wear jeans (not comfy) or joggers (comfy but not stylish at all)

Ah yeah I see what you would mean, and I am looking for similar tbh. I choose comfort but then that means I have to change to go on school run (not to try and be a glam mum but just not to look like I just got out of bed!)

TTPDTS · 22/10/2024 08:21

White company knitted sets are a favourite! I also love any athletic set with a nice cardigan and some cashmere socks on. I feel put together because everything matches and is nice quality 😂

Summerhillsquare · 22/10/2024 08:29

Cashmere jumpers at the moment, I have one with a matching scarf even!

KingOfPeace · 22/10/2024 08:39

Boden ponte wide leg trousers. Possibly too smart for your WFH bottom half but they're really comfortable.

M&S or Uniqlo thermal long sleeve top

A finer natural fibre jumper but with a looser fit to trap some air.

Knee length merino socks and unstylish sheepskin booties.

One women I've only ever met on teams wears various drapey cashmere wraps with bright lipstick and styled hair, for all I know she's got PJs underneath but she's my most stylish teams colleague.

dudsville · 22/10/2024 08:43

I have a bunch of comfortable dresses and cardigans and jumpers. I wear thick socks and keep a hot water bottle at my feet!

Porridgeislife · 22/10/2024 10:17

My WFH outfit in a surprisingly cold room (south west facing corner of the house):

M&S wide leg jersey trousers - as comfy as leggings. They’re only £17.50!

M&S thermal long sleeve tops

Some kind of jumper on top, usually a merino crew sweater. Nice necklace and a tiny bit of makeup.

Haflinger clog slippers for my desk and trainers for the nursery run!

Leopardprintlover101 · 22/10/2024 12:53

I got some leopard print wide leg trousers from Shein - they are a thick material and feel like tracksuit bottoms but look fashionable. I wear them with a black jumper or black polo neck so I am smart for calls, and warm enough.

greenmarsupial · 22/10/2024 13:08

These trousers from Tu look quite smart but have an elastic waist tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc144478871

These shirts from H&M are oversized but really nice www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0939703106.html

Basically the two together feel like pyjamas but look smart!

Love the H&M shirts I might have to invest in a couple.

I like oversized shirts but usually wear some sort of thermal or sports leggings in colder weather when WFH and thick socks. Also have a heated blanket for my lap! I do my hair and makeup but now it’s colder I am verging too much into wearing (plain) hoodies and need to smarten up a bit! 😀

DancingNotDrowning · 22/10/2024 22:22

I have matching cashmere wide leg trousers and jumpers from M&S they’re so cosy

xyz111 · 22/10/2024 22:30

Thanks ladies! I will have a look at those. Want to still feel sexy for when husband comes home, rather than be sat in my dressing gown 😂

I tend to wear a simple sweater and joggers/pj bottoms, but make it look like I have vaguely made an effort by popping in some nice earrings.

Someone joined a call in an oodie the other day though, and it just lifted my mood. It had a really nice pattern. She's phenomenal at her job and gave me the exact steer I needed, a truly impressive technical specialist. I would far rather she was comfy and cosy and felt able to focus.

mynameiscalypso · 22/10/2024 22:35

I have some cords from Oliver Bonas with an elasticated waist. Comfy but smart especially with a nice work/cashmere jumper on top. I'm a fan of anything with an elasticated waist though - I've got a couple of pairs of jeans from H&M which I wear a lot too.

TeenLifeMum · 22/10/2024 22:36

I love knitted dresses and just bought a denim dress from Roman (I’ve refused Roman for years as old lady ish but with my wide hips they actually make lovely clothes for women with curves… and I’m in my 40s).

NotSoHotMess24 · 22/10/2024 22:41

What... surely the whole point of WFH is to wear blanket hoodies and leggings all day, every day, and eat biscuits by the sleeve??

NotSoHotMess24 · 22/10/2024 22:42

If you're feeling fancy, perhaps a nice fleece. For variety.

Barney16 · 23/10/2024 07:43

I wear what I would usually wear but stick a Uniqlo thermal top and their thermal leggings underneath.

Anitaolson6688 · 23/10/2024 08:13

Sometimes I carry a hand warmer to keep my body warm.

imfae · 23/10/2024 10:37

I find that Uniqlo is great for trousers and comfy ones . I have in the past lived in their jeggings . I know deeply unfashionable Blushand last year I got some cords which are now a staple .

Their heattech range is also great for thermal tops and thin polos which I layer under smarter shirts / tops .

I have also managed to get a few really nice chunky cardigans in the Anthropologie sale .

I do have tons of dresses and I love dresses but really can't be bothered with the palava of tights - so very rarely wear them these days . Those that wear ( long ? ) socks with dresses - do you not find that it makes you feel cold in the parts of your legs not covered by the socks ?

In my youth we used to wear long woolen socks but kept them up with elastic bands ....

I'm still trying to navigate between feeling comfy, looking smart enough for Teams calls, and not needing to get changed if I want to pop out in my lunch hour. If such an outfit exists I haven't found it yet. I still end up getting changed if I need to go out.

I no longer wear tights under dresses or skirts in the winter. My go to are h&m leggings or uniqlo/m & s heattech with warm socks.
