Camilla at a BBQ down under, Mary visiting a government building, and Max and Beatrix at a concert.

There was a cute video of Cams spontaneously snapping at The King with those tongs.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 22/10/2024 22:21

Mary is in her element being the Queen isn’t she.

MotherofPearl · 22/10/2024 23:11

I absolutely adore Mary's shoes there, and bizarrely, the burnt orange trousers and burgundy blazer look good together, imo. She is really well-dressed - maybe the best dressed royal woman, for me.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 22/10/2024 23:20

Yes, same for me. She very rarely gets it wrong these days.

Choux · 23/10/2024 00:15

Mary's outfit today is not my cup of tea at all as there is so much going on:

The colours - burnt orange and burgundy with tan accessories. They just seem wrong together to me.

The styles - a boho prairie style top with a business jacket over it. And am not sure I've ever seen Mary Jane style pointed courts before.

Plus I think I saw one picture where there may have been royal VPL. To end on a positive her hair looks lovely. And she works more than her husband who is the actual king. She's holding the monarchy steady ready for her son. No way will Fred reign till his 80s like his mother.

EverybodyLovesString · 23/10/2024 06:32

I like the cut of Mary's trousers and jacket but not the colours and not together.

Camilla looking very fetching in that blue. As much as she suits paler colours it's nice to see her break out into something stronger occasionally.

Maireas · 23/10/2024 07:33

Nice to see Cams in a stronger colour - she knows how to wield a pair of tongs. Mary has been looking great, and has totally risen to her role, but I'm in agreement about this outfit. I do think spike heels for daytime are looking a tad dated now.

Max's dress, OTOH, is an abomination, and makes her look as though her boobs are nestling at her waistline.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 23/10/2024 08:45

Oh I love the shoes! Right up my (cobbled) street. But do agree that I really, really like it when the royal women choose to wear lower heeled shoes.

The colours are fine for me - have worn similar myself.

Any time an outfit is more interesting I tend to like it, just for the fact that it's a little different and unexpected in some way. Keeps things fresh.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 23/10/2024 08:47

Also meant to say the Mother of Dragons is beautiful and always looks absolutely stunning. Gorgeous, gorgeous clothing. 😍

Camilla looks fab on that blue and it works well in the strong light in Australia.

I think Mary’s jacket is brown rather than burgundy, at least it looks it to me. I don’t mind the outfit apart from the shoes, which, although a good pair of shoes, really don’t go with everything else both in term of colour and style. Her hair looks absolutely amazing.

And I agree, Max looks like she’s wearing a cheap catalogue duvet cover complete with duvet inside 😂

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 23/10/2024 08:51

Yes @smilesy it's brown.

Looks like the trousers might be more on the red side? It can be so difficult to determine colours accurately.

Someone gave Mary a rather funny gift - a plate of grapes.

Mary’s expression is priceless 😂

MotherofPearl · 23/10/2024 09:18

Ah yes, the jacket is brown. I stand by my love of the whole outfit.

The plate of grapes is funny! Awkward to have to hold the plate and flowers.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 23/10/2024 09:28

@MotherofPearl me too, think it's well put together.

Luckily she has an aide to carry things for her! Wonder if it was actually the person's snack for waiting around and they just impulsively gave it to her. 😆

QueryA · 23/10/2024 09:30

I like the orange/red trousers and the burgundy/brown jacket. I like the blouse too. I even like the shoes, but agree they don't really go with the rest of the outfit.

Mary is keeping these threads alive. She is out and about so much, and always wearing something to discuss. The other royals are quieter. Maybe its because she has just become Queen she is getting more coverage.

I know we try not to critise, but compared to for instance CP Victoria, who has similar role and age of children, William doesn't seem to do nearly as many engagements. Maybe they are just not so visible? And I know his wife is ill. But compared to CPV he seems to be a lot quieter.

Papergirl1968 · 23/10/2024 11:16

Landing in Samoa. Not sure if Camilla deliberately chose a modest outfit.

I think she did. Looks very comfortable for travel.

I think that was the case even before Kate got ill tbh.

It's also interesting to see the approaches the monarchs with younger heirs have taken. Amalia seems to only do events with her parents whereas Leonor has already represented Felipe on a solo trip abroad, though granted it was just over the border to Portugal.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 23/10/2024 14:00

I think William has had the benefit of not actually being Prince of Wales - for most of his adulthood he was 3rd in line which allowed him to spend more time with his young children. I don't begrudge him that at all.

Then he became PoW and has taken over the Duchy of Cornwall and a whole portfolio related to that which is a huge concern and sure, he doesn't run it day-to-day but he's the boss and if he's anything like his father he will be very involved in that. Now, of course, Catherine has been ill. We've still seen a fair bit of him; I sense a marked change in his demeanour over the past year or so - he very much is Prince of Wales now and has taken on more stature. I expect we'll see a lot more in years to come.

Edited

Also, there are bound to be more photos of the female royals as there are often fashion commentaries on them. The male royals, not so much, unless they are with their partners. As Kate has been unwell there have been less photo ops that would interest the fashion editors as well as the news ones 🤷‍♀️

I love that travelling outfit on Camilla - going to Samoa.

Thanks for the new thread Maireas

Maireas · 23/10/2024 17:09

👋 to Pallisers and other friends joining!
I like that outfit of Cam's, it's loose and practical, but still looks good.
