What should I wear with the sequinned tasselled skirt?

I will wear this skirt with boots and a big grey jumper/cardigan in the day/going out... but Im struggling with how I should style it for my firm's Xmas party? Not sure that the way that M&S have styled it is going to work.

I don't want to show my forearms. I'm brunette, 5'4 size 12 with a bit of a tummy. all suggestions welcome, thank you MN

I think the white shirt fully tucked in would work, but maybe not the blazer. Otherwise I would go for a decent, fitted, plain black t shirt.

I'm thinking long sleeved black roll neck maybe. I know shit all about fashion though 🤣 I think the look m and s have created is hideous.

I think a silk shirt instead of a crisp one would be nice. Or a very fine knit e.g. merino.

I'd wear it with a black merino wool or cashmere jumper. Maybe tucked in. If it's non-jumper weather, just a long sleeved smart black top.

The white shirt looks good on the model. It's quite a statement skirt so you would want to keep the top simple.

I agree, I think you have to go very plain with a statement skirt like this. I'd probably choose something like this bodysuit, with a delicate, but sparkly, silver pendant to balance it out:

Thank you everyone, some great suggestions here, and I have similar to some so I can start experimenting with shapes etc. Will update on the results.

Boots and cosy sweater with perhaps an elegant coat that canbedressedup or down. Evening heels and black ballet style top. With a bit of glittery jewellery but not over stated. Put your hair up if it's long enough.

A white fluffy jumper...that will look amazing.

Although I would usually wear something simple like a grey sweatshirt and white heels with a skirt like this, I'd go full-on glitz and wear it with this sweater - it's far more sparkly than the picture belies.
