Recommend me a winter perfume

[Over40Overdating]

I usually wear Pomegranate Noir or Opium perfumes at this time of year but want to switch things up as haven’t had a new perfume for years.

I like heavy, woody, spiced smells, happy to wear unisex or male scents but not sweet and sugary.

Budget not an issue!

The new Hermes is lovely. It's called Barenia.

It's a chypre, but a wearable one.

My winter perfumes are Jo Malone's Orange Bitters & Pomegranate Noir. Maison Margeila-By the Fireplace is my Christmas Perfume. I think Thé Noir by Le Labo is a good winter perfume too but I don't have that one yet..

Modern Muse by EL could be a contender.

Guerlain Angélique Noire. There is nothing else like it.

I don’t wear it that much but have been wearing it more now it’s autumn in the day, as it seems to go.

Or Jo Loves smoked plum and leather

Modern Muse is one of those perfumes which I love but settles down nicely.

OP, if you fancy an eBay trawl the discontinued YSL Elle Intense is lovely. Why they discontinued it though (and other perfumes) I don’t know. Dior Addict might be another one.

Went for Halfeti in the end as By The Fireside, gorgeous as it is, feels like something for very cold days only and I’m too impatient to wait!

Coromandel is amazing but enough like the Prada that I couldn’t justify the spend.

Halfeti is making me want to wear a lot of black with red lipstick though so now I’m on the hunt for a blue red that’s not drying if anyone has any steer on that!

Clinique do a good red, the 'pop' one. Can't remember exactly what it's called.

Clinique Aromatics Elixir has been my Winter perfume for a long time. I imagine it smells like the velvet robe of a Persian Queen.

I absolutely adore By The Fireplace by Maison Margiela. Likewise their "Whispers in The Library". Both a perfect autumn/winter scents, quite musky but warm.
