Black every /all day sneakers

I'm mid wardrobe transition and realise that a pair of comfortable black sneakers would be useful. All my trainers are for actual running so I'm boggled by choice. Any recommendations? Would like to wear them with jeans, wide leg trousers, long skirts, etc.

This was me a while back and I looked at all kinds: Russell & Bromley to Kurt Geiger to Onitsika Tiger.
In the end I went for a pair from Marks and Spencer’s at half the price which were the most comfortable and didn’t have garish designs or weird tongue.

I just purchased these for the same purpose and have been really happy with how smart they look www.carvela.com/women/shoes/trainers/diamond-zip-black-synthetic-carvela-3917200979

I'm not a fan of the zip, but I didn't think of looking at carvel, so thanks for the suggestion.

I do think trainers are such a personal taste. If you do like any from Carvela make sure you get a discount code as they nearly always have one

Why not go with the classic, Converse?

They aren't the most supportive, but you can swap out the insoles with more comfortable ones.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 19/10/2024 00:46

Personally hate black trainers / sneakers. They need at least a white sole.

Do you want leather (no wet feet) or canvas?

TeaHagTeaBag · 19/10/2024 00:47

My feet are too old and knackered for converse unfortunately. I spotted some nice black leather ones in my search but I know I wouldn't get more than an hour or two before I had to take them off.

Onitsaka Tiger - so cool.
New Balance - comfiest I ever owed. Office sell them.

I don't really mind. I have running runners and weatherproof dog walking boots, the two times I'm less able to avoid the rain, so I don't need leather for weather purposes specifically.

Aren't some of the new balance versions treacherous on wet ground? Or am I misremembering that?

TeaHagTeaBag -
this is why I like to actually feel and try on shoes before purchasing. In the summer I ordered a pair of sandals on line, and the sole was a hard plastic instead of a rubber, so would have been useless.

Just about every brand has a decent pair of plain black trainers. Whistles has 2 styles, Skechers has tons, clarks...etc.

I'm partial to Asics, and I like a white sole, or you could end up looking like you work in a chain restaurant.

You might be surprised by Converse all star city trek, my mum lives in them. And they’re waterproof

Studio Nicholson?

I’d never heard of these brands so was enjoying a browse until I hit MHL. Is it just me or are the models very odd?

I went through a lot of trainers until I found Sketchers Go Walk. I can wear these all day without knowing I’ve got them on. I have wide feet too. There are several different types of Go Walk - I’ve found the slip ins are too narrow for me. These are si a ikr to what I’ve got now.

I have Reeboks. Maybe not very stylish but very comfy and durable. I don't like large logos.

Borris · 19/10/2024 10:35

I have some puma black trainers for work

Doggymummar · 19/10/2024 10:54

Black superga? HRH Princess Kate wears them all the time
