I’m liking the scarf and blouse.

Thank you, @Shopgirl1 , for letting us know about returns. I’ve just bought the black/white scarf, which wasn’t showing as available when I last looked. If the clothing ordered yesterday doesn’t fit when it arrives I’ll keep the scarf.

£59 seems a lot for a merino scarf but it can cost me that for the yarn to knit something that big. I do buy very expensive yarn, I admit, and often it’s 100% cashmere. It has to feel lovely to be worth my time spent knitting it.

Several things weren’t showing earlier, and now they are back every size is out of stock. I assume this is because they were returns and have sold again.

It’s a very dated frumpy mumsy collection

I resemble that remark!

Floisme · 18/10/2024 20:27

I am Grandma's age, not Mumsy's, Please at least have the courtesy to be accurate with your sneers.

Zampa · 18/10/2024 20:38

I'm pleased with the jeans too @Summerdew. I had all the trousers in long in my online basket but only the jeans were available by the time I checked out. I'm 5'9" and the long is great.

I don’t care if people think that….im happy to rock that dated look 🤣

Octoberaddsagale · 18/10/2024 21:55

I’m happy to look my age, which is significantly more than “mumsy”.

Floisme · 18/10/2024 22:20

You're all making me wish I'd ordered some jeans too. They were still in stock at that point but I don't need any and couldn't really afford to buy too much.
I have a theory - which I never remember to act on - that with a lot of these collaborations the real stars aren't the headline grabbing things but the under-the-radar pieces.

It's the same with cakes - the plain looking ones are often the best.

Nothing there for me either - just not my style at all.

Not for me either.
All a bit emperor's new clothes imo.

Bits keep coming in and out of stock, I managed to grab a second pair earlier not enabling at all

Me running through M&S to find this collection because I spotted this thread while sat in the M&S cafe

It’s a very dated frumpy mumsy collection, but then again that is the demographic it’s been marketed towards so it’s not really a surprise. The slogans are very cringey, especially when 10,000 others will be wearing the same one.

Big swerve is my advice.

Such a dated frumpy mumsy collection that it has pretty much sold out in two days?

youheard · 19/10/2024 11:00

enabled by this thread I just went back on the website and found the jeans and the pinstriped trousers were back in stock in my size – only three left, so I’ve ordered. Will report back

Shopgirl1 · 19/10/2024 11:17

There are a range of age groups on here so it makes sense we would all have different tastes. In my late 40s I am not going to dress like 30 year olds do. I think some of the comments on here are unnecessarily rude, just say it’s not your style if you don’t like it. The fact it has sold out so quickly shows it is to some people’s taste.

piccolorhinoceros · 19/10/2024 11:55

@Shopgirl1 I'm early (/mid...) 30s and I'm a fan! And there are PPs older than you who dislike it, so I don't think it's necessarily just down to age.

Maybe it's mumsy and dated in comparison to Gen Z fashion, but who's to say that's a style we all want? I've started wearing crew socks over leggings etc to update my look and I think I pull it off, but I have to admit it doesn't look great on most people. It shortens the leg, and honestly I think it looks more mumsy when women who are clearly mums try to copy the Gen Z look but do it poorly.

I'm not sure the whole collection can be discarded as mumsy and dated however, surely it depends how you style it? The suits are not mumsy at all, although arguably could be called dated (I didn't buy one but I like them). The jumpers could be mumsy, if you wear them fitted, with skinny jeans and Skechers I guess. But that's not how I plan to wear them.

Floisme · 19/10/2024 12:13

I think what it shows is that the one thing in fashion that's truly timeless is inter-generational sniping.

In other news I've signed up for email alerts if jeans come back in, although from previous experience, by the time you get the message, it's already gone.

Shopgirl1 · 19/10/2024 12:19

@piccolorhinoceros you are probably right, not necessarily an age thing, just different tastes, styles, body shapes etc.

youheard · 19/10/2024 13:43

Well having bagged the jeans and trousers they’re now saying the delivery will be delayed – clearly they ran out quicker than intended and are waiting for more returns I hope I bloody get them!

I got the same email and I ordered at 8.02am on Thursday... So I'd better get my order! I did place two orders (had to split the payment) and one order has arrived for collection (the one I placed later), so I don't know what's going on.

Eek!! that’s not good. My email said they would be delivered by the 24th. Did yours say the same? very odd to have them as back in stock online if they haven’t delivered to people who bagged them straight off.

Nope, no estimated date! Tbf I think this has happened to me before with normal M&S orders, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns up tomorrow.

hopeishere · 19/10/2024 15:36

There was loads of it in stock in my local M&S today!! At £89 for a scarf I'm not surprised.

swearymad · 19/10/2024 16:20

I got the red nature jumper. I love it. I'm late 50's and plan on wearing it with my wide leg jeans. And I am short and round. 😀

Seagall · 19/10/2024 17:59

In French, Nature means plain. So no thanks!

Hmm I don't think it does?

Well, that was a drama! Went to collect the one parcel that had arrived and the guy couldn't find it 😑 he did eventually find it, thank goodness. I surprisingly really like the Divine Feminine jumper, although it's a little fitted so the larger size I have on order might be nicer. The Nature jumper is nice too, XS was definitely right for that, any bigger would be too oversized on me.
