I’m liking the scarf and blouse.

Bluevelvetsofa · 13/10/2024 21:11

I too, loath slogan garments. I don’t need words emblazoned across my chest.

PadstowGirl · 13/10/2024 21:19

I ordered a plain top recently and was sent a top with "brilliant" written across it. Such a shame as it's a really great fit otherwise

catmothertes1 · 13/10/2024 22:16

canyon2000 · 13/10/2024 17:46

I don't really feel that I need a top with 'Divine Feminine', 'Honey' or 'Nature' written on it. I struggle with slogan tops!

It's a "no,thanks" from me.

Turnups · 13/10/2024 23:00

Don’t know why anyone wants a sweatshirt with a silly word on it.

Fairyliz · 13/10/2024 23:12

Well the model doesn’t look too impressed and she’s wearing the clothes, so probably knows better than me what they are like.

Plainer · 13/10/2024 23:50

Nothing there for me either - just not my style at all.

Sunbeam01 · 14/10/2024 00:01

CoastalCalm · 13/10/2024 19:14

The slogans make it look like they’re from TU or George at Asda

I agree.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 14/10/2024 00:06

I don't need any words across my chest either... I've got big boobs... can't imagine where the word would actually end up!

Ohnobackagain · 14/10/2024 00:20

I like the odd slogan but none of these do it for me. Never mind.

Totally agree. V neck jumper is the only maybe item for me.

Ellmau · 14/10/2024 00:38

Not for me. I don't like stripes much and I despise clothing with writing on it.

The m and s knitwear looks and feels great at first, but the last two jumpers I've bought pill so badly they've left bits all over my trousers and coat.

ThePoshUns · 14/10/2024 07:33

Not keen on the slogans on the tops, and slogan tops are a bit passé now. The rest of the collection looks mundane and knowing M&S currently they won't have anything in my size anyway 🙄

Lovethatforyouhun · 13/10/2024 18:19

Bit ten years ago tbh.
Not a fan of her jumpers and candles that glorify a paedo either.
Ginsberg is certainly no god, unless you’re a nonse.

Which Ginsberg? Allen? Robert? Ruth??

Ha! Allen. As Bella has a boho past.

Totally agree with this; not too happy with how recent cashmere purchases have faired - a cashmere jumper bought about 4 years ago is still in great condition yet one purchased Sept 2023 looks shocking. The rest are a variation.

Re the new collection, slogans on tops have been done to death plus at 50, I feel it looks a bit too try hard on me

Floisme · 14/10/2024 08:11

The slogans aren't my thing either (I'm just a sucker for a pinstripe blazer) but what on earth is this 'too try hard' business about?
How hard is one meant to try at 50? 60? 68?

MouseofCommons · 14/10/2024 08:16

I only like the beige jumper with black and yellow stripes. Our store won't stock it though. Otherwise it feels a bit dated and noughties.

Barney16 · 14/10/2024 10:03

I like the suit and the brown sweater. I will probably buy those however it will all sell out very quickly. Collabs seem to. I do love her stuff, words on chest? Maybe, it depends on the words I guess. Generally I don't go for slogans but I have or rather had a Zadig and Voltaire sweater which was wordy, then it got shrunk in the wash and I'm still in mourning about that. Usually her cut is really good but wonder if that will be the case in this collection. Does anyone know the prices?

EllaPaella · 14/10/2024 10:13

Nothing there that appeals to me and interesting to hear that the quality of her own brand isn't great. The recent Claudia 'collection' was a disappointment as well.

ANagsHead · 14/10/2024 10:15

I’m definitely not a fan of the emblazoned chest (not mine at least).

I do have a t shirt from here:

www.simeonfarrar.com

because it was irresistibly pretty. (And reduced in a YBD sale.) Still only gets worn at weekends, at home. Or covered up, which obviously doesn’t make sense.

If I suddenly wanted a be-sloganned sweater I’d probably look here, first:

hades-shop.co.uk

Though I’m not sure I’ve ever encountered them in person so can’t vouch for the quality.

I'm not blown away by the collection. The cashmere knits are a fairly good price but I wouldn't spend that much on something with a slogan on.

How common was that 1970 jumper? Was she born in 1970? I saw people wearing it who weren't.

Floisme · 14/10/2024 10:44

Here's an archive link, without a paywall, to the Times article with some of the prices.

I do like the shape of the blazer. It looks longish but, looking at the shoulders, slim fitting rather than oversized (which I also like but I'm ready for a change now). But at £129 I don't suppose the fabric will be great. And it's probably pinned at the back!

What's this about the paedo candles?

Also, this collection isn't all that.
