Vinted sellers delivery times

Hi everyone,

I've been using Vinted a lot recently to sell and buy, I think it's great. But I am finding it really annoying when sellers literally send things the day before the deadline date. I have a number of items which haven't been sent and the deadline is the 7th Oct.

I've not said anything in the past, I've just not left any feedback. However Vinted l automatic feedback for the seller which is always five stars, I don't want that to happen with sellers who are ridiculously slow with delivery. Does anyone know who I stop the automatic feedback?

I always send my packages within 1-2 days. I'd feel really bad leaving it so late to send something.

Agree the issue is with Vinted window for delivery, maybe that’s too long but don’t think sellers are doing anything wrong if they’re within the window.

i find it annoying when buyers enquire when I’m posting something especially when it’s followed by a passive aggressive smiley emoji

Cherryblossom200 · 06/10/2024 14:07

It is my opinion and I'm voicing it which I'm entitled too 😊

You can overwrite automatic feedback, so you can change it from the 5 stars, however, it would be wrong to leave poorer feedback if they are complying with vinted delivery rules. If you don't like how vinted works, then stop buying from it.

I don't have a drop off point within 12 miles, so am reliant on a friend taking parcels once or twice a week. It's always within vinted times, and sometimes it may be the last day. If somebody asks before buying if it can be sent quickly, then I tell them the day it will be sent. I don't communicate otherwise because I don't need to. If somebody wants quick delivery then they shouldn't be buying from vinted. Evri can take days to deliver sometimes.

I often turn my vinted off at weekends, so that I don't sell something on Saturday that can't be posted until Thursday.

Laughing at the passive aggressive smiley from OP right after the previous post 😆

You can voice your opinion but you still sound ridiculous. I sell on Etsy, EBay and Vinted.

It is the Vinted guidelines and of course it’s not poor form to send on the last day 😂. I occasionally send purchases on the last day, I try to before, but I’m busy with work, a toddler and a disability. If I want to receive a purchase earlier than the stated timeline, I request that with the seller before I press purchase, like any normal person would 😂. If they can’t and I need it urgently I don’t buy it.

Serious lack of common sense OP.

Cherryblossom200 · 06/10/2024 15:01

This is my opinion, and it's not changing it. Despite the 7 day Vinted timescale, I think leaving it to the last day without any sort of communication isn't great.

I do hope the option of not leaving automatic feedback is considered going forward.

Will leave it there!

@MidnightMeltdown To clarify I meant I asked after five days of no communication not immediately 😅

Why? They’ve fulfilled their contract with you. Vinted doesn’t require sellers to interact with your messages, they are required to dispatch their parcel within the agreed timeframes.

There’s always Amazon/Next/M&S if you want next day delivery.

Muthauckas · 07/10/2024 11:10

I always just assume it will be posted on day 7 and work my timescales accordingly, if it comes earlier that's a bonus. If I want something quicker I buy from an actual shop.

And I bloody hate vinted communication to be honest.

Sellers messaging to say 'thanks for buying. I'll get this posted asap' or whatever means I get an email, I then have to click the link in the email to the conversation only to read that. I don't care when you post it! As long as it's posted it can be on day 1 or day 7, I don't want to hear about it again until it's arrived.

Then a day or two later, another email with a message - click through and yep it's them saying 'posted 😃'. I know! Because Vinted and the courier company have both already emailed me.

My absolute bug-bear is when the seller then messages again to say 'your parcel has arrived'. I know! Because, again, vinted and the courier company have emailed to tell me, and I'm perfectly capable of managing my own life and my own errands; I don't need to be nagged to go and pick it up.

piccolorhinoceros · 07/10/2024 11:29

@Muthauckas You must have your notifications set to do that, I don't get an email when I get a message. I also use the app which is so easy. That might work better for you, the communication doesn't feel intrusive at all.

Supersimkin7 · 07/10/2024 12:07

Cos and Arket take 5 days to post.

Me neither any more.

chickenlettuceunderbacon · 07/10/2024 13:22

You are being absolutely ridiculous given Vinted clearly states the sending timeframe, and by using the site, not to mention purchasing fthings, you are agreeing to it.

It's great you can send out items quickly. However, not everyone can.

Ultimately, Vinted is a platform used by many individuals, some professional sellers, most not. Ergo, sending practises, not to mention communication is going to be wildly different depending on whom you're communicating with/buying from. This is why Vinted covers themselves with such a lengthy sending timeframe.

In my experience, the sellers with the listings that have properly written descriptions that include measurements, fabric content, etc etc coupled with lots of good, clear photographs tend to be the ones whom are best with communicating and sending things out in a timely manner.

petathedragon · 07/10/2024 13:24

I would offer feedback of 3/4 stars and highlight that they were slow to post but otherwise the item is fine

MiddleAgedDread · 07/10/2024 13:24

YABU if it's within the delivery timescales! Whilst I always try to dispatch things ASAP (my record is under an hour!) it really depends on the delivery method chosen by the buyer as some are much more convenient for me than others. I can do them all but some only really work on an office day and others are best for days when I'm at home or need a car journey to them.

petathedragon · 07/10/2024 13:26

I live in a village but can think of at least 4 in-post lockers i can easily get to in under 10 mins

petathedragon · 07/10/2024 13:28

I don't think OP is complaining about the courier

It's the sellers who are slow...some take days to despatch

If it's too much trouble to bag up and post something, dont be a seller

If it's too much trouble to wait a few days for your item, don't buy on Vinted

skyeisthelimit · 07/10/2024 13:35

As my last post says, it's 12 miles to any drop off point, a 40 minute round trip, so my friend takes parcels once or twice a week. I work full time, I have a disability and I am not going to waste fuel dropping off parcels when she is going there anyway.

Why should I stop selling on vinted if I am meeting their criteria?

Why do buyers buy on vinted if they don't like the criteria? Why don't they use a proper shop with next day delivery options and a full return/refund service?

Cherryblossom200 · 07/10/2024 14:42

Well today I gave my first negative feedback to a seller who didn't send out an item in time.

Going forward if anyone who sends out an item on day 7 with no communication will get 4 stars for slow delivery from me. Whether or not it's Vinted policy or not, sending the parcel out on the last day without any communication isn't great whether you are a shop or not! Like I said it's not for the small items pieces. It's more the things which are sort of over £10 or more.

OP posts:
LivingDeadGirlUK · 07/10/2024 17:22

Your going to get 4 stars back for being unreasonable.

Cherryblossom200 · 07/10/2024 18:09

The seller didn't send out the item I paid for! It passed the deadline and Vinted refunded me automatically and gave the seller 1 star?! Why on earth would I give 5 stars for that?!

This is why it's so annoying. You wait and wait and never quite know if the seller will send out the item when it's sent so late, and eventually like what happened today it didn't get sent out at all. It's happened quite a few times for me.

As a seller if you decide to wait until day 7, then I think it's right to communicate that to set the expectation. It's just courtesy........

You don't need to do anything vinted. I have given them a negative for not sending.

Do not be tempted to add your own comment as that then allows the seller to leave you some, and there are some sellers that will leave retaliatory negative even though they are in the wrong.

Leave it as vinted negative, and they cannot leave you any.

Ok thanks, will do that next time!

amymel2016 · 07/10/2024 18:45

You usually get stuff for a bargain on Vinted so waiting a little while for someone to post isn’t the end of the world. I sell quite a lot on there and now only post once a week meaning some people will receive their item quickly and others will use the full postage time, it’s never late. If you need it quicker then ask them.
