Vinted sellers delivery times

Hi everyone,

I've been using Vinted a lot recently to sell and buy, I think it's great. But I am finding it really annoying when sellers literally send things the day before the deadline date. I have a number of items which haven't been sent and the deadline is the 7th Oct.

I've not said anything in the past, I've just not left any feedback. However Vinted l automatic feedback for the seller which is always five stars, I don't want that to happen with sellers who are ridiculously slow with delivery. Does anyone know who I stop the automatic feedback?

I always send my packages within 1-2 days. I'd feel really bad leaving it so late to send something.

If you want to avoid automatic feedback, you have to give feedback yourself - and honestly I think it would be unfair to give negative feedback when someone is posting within the acceptable timeframe set by Vinted. If you've asked them before buying if they can send by a particular date and they don't, then that's fair enough to mention, but sellers aren't Amazon - I always aim to post as soon as I can, but sometimes I can't.

Cheesypasta · 05/10/2024 17:51

Watching with interest as have a DC who buys on Vinted and is bemoaning this right now about sellers. How does the automatic feedback thing work?

WellyBellyBoo · 05/10/2024 17:52

I see this as part of the deal with Vinted. The parcels are not late, the seller has the full time to post it, anything earlier is a bonus. I'd go back to eBay if you want faster postage guaranteed as many sellers offer next day or 48 hour turnaround times.

EverybodyWantsTo · 05/10/2024 17:52

How can you call it ridiculously slow when it's within the timescales? I think you'd be very unfair to reduce your rating for this.

If you want next day delivery, choose this from an actual retailer.

modgepodge · 05/10/2024 17:55

If you do urgently need something you can always message politely to ask when they think they can send. I have had people do this after buying just saying they’d appreciate the item asap and I’ve made an effort to send the next day. Likewise when I really needed something for a holiday I asked before buying when they’d be able to post to make it more likely it would be on time (and it was).

AHFBridport · 05/10/2024 17:57

Vinted sellers aren't business owners, they are private individuals who may have full time jobs/difficult shift times/caring responsibilities/live miles away from nearest parcel point and only be able to go there once a week etc. etc. etc.

pantomanto · 05/10/2024 17:59

Today is 5th. They’ve got another 2 days to send. If you need something sooner ask before you buy. It is all very simple. As long as the item is sent within the time scales sent then you are unreasonable.

Cherryblossom200 · 05/10/2024 18:00

I don't want to give negative feedback, or take stars away. I'd just prefer not to give any automatic feedback at all. I think it's all personal, i just like to be speedy with delivery and try and communicate with people. Leaving it to the last day seems to be very slow especially with no communication.

RaiseYourSkinnyFists · 05/10/2024 18:02

I don't have a problem with it. I factor in that it will come when it comes when I buy.

HundredMilesAnHour · 05/10/2024 18:03

YABU. 7 days is the timeline set by Vinted. If you don't like it, buy somewhere else (and most likely pay more money!).

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 05/10/2024 18:07

Mostly it's not the seller.. it's the delivery firm.
You have 7 days to post... sometimes l can post the next day.. sometimes it can take the full week.. depending on what l have on in the week.
I think it's reasonable .
You have free will to use vinted or not.

RaininSummer · 05/10/2024 18:08

I can't send things until the weekend so if purchased early in the week there would be a delay.

Zengarden001 · 05/10/2024 18:10

I agree, you are being unreasonable - if you want guaranteed, fast delivery, buy from shop.

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 05/10/2024 18:11

You can leave 5 stars but say slow delivery if you wanted, but as long as it is posted in the vinted timeframe you're being a bit unfair.

Sometimes i post the same day, others it takes 7 days. Depends on what i have on that week

Normallynumb · 05/10/2024 18:11

I love Vinted and have bought some amazing items
The seller isn't doing anything wrong.
They have lives too, and are not a shop!
Some items I've bought have been posted the next day, and some on the last day Perfectly fine with me.
Certainly not something to leave negative feedback about
I have had one item cancelled with no contact from seller, which I did find off.

Feedback is left for every transaction, thats how vinted works. You would be very unreadable to give less than 5 stars when they have posted within the correct time frame.

sangriaandsunshine · 05/10/2024 18:51

I can only get to the drop off place twice a week so whether I send the day you buy or the last day that is permitted totally depends on the day and time at which you buy it.
Where I have made an additional trip was when someone message before buying to say she needed something by a particular date and could I get it her by then. I agreed I could so I did an extra trip.
I do tend to message people they day they buy to say which day I will be dropping it off.

If you click on their feedback, you can delete the automatic one left for you.

Underneath it, it says edit/delete.

Ineedanewsofa · 05/10/2024 18:55

Drop the seller a message if you need things quickly, I’ve done this a couple of times and people have always accommodated me. Some sellers are terrible at comms, personally I message to say when I expect to post and on the day I post it but I’ve bought things where there’s been zero!

Babyandmexox · 05/10/2024 19:00

Sorry but you're being really unfair, the guideline is set by Vinted if the seller is sending items within the time frame it shouldn't impact the purchase. So you'd rather not leave any feedback? Why? People have lives/kids/jobs and sell on Vinted in their spare time they are not a shop and don't have to post within a day or 2 of you want a fast service shop elsewhere.. you sound impatient!

DCIJackieDeering · 05/10/2024 19:03

I often send at the back end of the timescale. Last time I cut it really fine because I spent 3 days looking for somewhere that would actually accept sodding Evri parcels. If I’m away with work or having a busy weekend, it will take longer. But it will always be within the given timeframe. It’s unfair to penalise people who are within what’s permitted. Although I do try to message the buyer if this is the case

Prawncocktail24 · 05/10/2024 19:16

If things are being sent within the time frame set by Vinted, you can't complain it is slow and you'd be very unreasonable to leave feedback suggesting it is. I sell on Vinted, and try to get things posted ASAP, but I also have a job and kids and sometimes it does take me close to the deadline to post. Equally, I've posted some stuff out the same day it has been bought. If you left me negative feedback because of this, I'd simply leave you negative feedback in return as I wouldn't consider I'd done anything wrong.

Cherryblossom200 · 05/10/2024 20:08

I work full time, I'm a single parent as well! I'm juggling a lot, but I always try to get the parcel out quickly. But I guess that's just me.

I think you misunderstand, I wasn't going to give negative feedback or deduct any stars. My preference would be to not give the automated 5 star feedback that Vinted gives.

Anyway I think it's just a personal thing, I'm still new to it. What I don't like is if I ask politely when a parcel will be sent out, it gets ignored. I only asked after about day 5, the couple of times I've asked I've been ignored! I think I'm just the sort of person that likes to do things really efficiently and realise that not everyone is the same which is fair enough.

Prawncocktail24 · 05/10/2024 20:17

I always try to get the parcel out as quickly as possible too, but sometimes it has to wait. When I've left my house at 7am and got back at 6pm, I'm not going to be dragging my 2 year old back out just so I can say I've posted it quickly. It'll wait a few days until I've got a day off (which will still be in the acceptable time frame set out by Vinted!)

I do actually agree with you about the automatic 5 star feedback, I don't think they should do it, feedback should be given by the buyers/sellers, and not giving feedback should be an option. If someone messaged and politely asked me when I'd post the parcel out I would reply though, ignoring people is rude.

henlake7 · 05/10/2024 20:25

Sending it within the seven days is fine, esp if you haven't asked for a faster delivery.

Could be worse. I recently had a seller wait the full seven days before cancelling the order and I'm still waiting for a skirt that is lost in the post for over two weeks!
