DH says its too much. Hoping to wear it to 3 weddings... its so over my usual budget so...
Catholic church/smart hotel
Outdoor wedding /barn next spring
Chapel /Hotel wedding by the sea in Summer

And any suggestions of how to make it suitable.

A black tie evening wedding- yes, definitely.
Daytime weddings- no.

Beautiful dress though.

Ever heard the saying better overdressed than underdressed

It doesn't mean it's true though.

I think it's lovely but more suitable for a black tie do or an American wedding.

No.

Even if it is a saying it doesn't mean everyone feels the same. I'd be more uncomfortable turning up somewhere overdressed than underdressed.

I think it’ll look like a wannabe bridesmaid, especially in that colour which seems to be a really popular choice for bridesmaids! Every wedding I’ve been to in England, or even Wales, women have worn day/cocktail style dresses and I’ve never seen anyone bar the maids in full length. Unless it’s an American wedding with a black tie dress code then I would find something else.

I keep misreading the title as ‘Is this too groovy for a wedding?’ and imagining you wearing some kind of sixties mini with psychedelic patterns.😀

The dress is gorgeous , probably a bit overdressed for the weddings but if I looked like that in it I would wear it anyway.

No it’s a black tie/evening dress, not a wedding guest dress.

It's a bit gowny but beautiful, put it in the maybe pile. That'll be hare to wear in the summer. If it was just below the knee I'd say go for it.
