Does anyone have one of the zapped on bracelets?

I've seen these advertised, but I'd quite like a silver one. Does anyone have one?

Do you mean permanent jewellery?

Aquamarine1029 · 07/09/2024 18:18

My daughter has one. She likes it, but she likes to leave her jewelry on. I can't leave jewelry on. As soon as I get home, all of it comes off.

Yes, sorry, I mean bracelets etc. that are welded on so you can't take them off.

Is hers gold or silver? I've only seen gold and white gold ones, but I'd prefer silver.

I've got three, one gold, one silver and one that is a mixture of the two metals

Ah, you can get silver ones! Where did you get yours @baklavagoddess? Do you like them? I like the idea of close fitting and no faffy connectors.

That gives me anxiety just thinking about it 😱

PollyOrange · 07/09/2024 19:33

Oh my. Didn't know that's what it meant when I saw the stall. Makes me nervous!

NoShirtNoShoesNoSheldon · 07/09/2024 19:33

Same @GoldenLyonel

VictoryOrDeath · 07/09/2024 19:34

😄 @GoldenLyonel, I know what you mean a bit. And I'm so fussy, what are the chances of me liking something enough to weld it on.

How do you get through airport security?!

Newterm · 07/09/2024 19:36

I’d feel claustrophobic with a permanent bracelet on.

baklavagoddess · 07/09/2024 19:36

@VictoryOrDeath a place in portobello road called PUP UP

Anoisagusaris · 07/09/2024 19:41

I’ve only heard about these recently and can’t work out what the point of them is. If you want to wear a regular bracelet permanently what’s stopping you? I really feel like I’m missing something.

oneplustwoplustwoplusone · 07/09/2024 19:42

Have a welded bracelet and I love it. White gold from Astrid and Miyu

But I do never take of my wedding rings and rarely take out my earrings

What if you need an MRI? Although, I guess they’d just cut it off.

The idea makes me feel claustrophobic.

What is the benefit?

Hmm, the PUP UP website says that you can get through airport security with no issues. Does jewellery usually cause issues? I haven't flow for years for various reasons.

Does anyone know of somewhere you can actually look at the range online before booking? Or somewhere that does thicker bracelets? I like the idea, but all the examples I’ve seen are of really thin bracelets.

Usually you take watches and bracelets off to walk through security and put them in those plastic trays

VictoryOrDeath · 07/09/2024 19:49

Thanks everyone. I sort of like the idea, but doubt I'd find something I love enough. And like others said, I could just look for a normal bracelet.

I'd definitely check out a shop offering it if I happened upon though.

Yes I have a silver one 😊 my two childhood friends and I got them as ‘adult’ friendship bracelets 😂 I have silver, one has gold and one has rose gold. We’ve had them for over a year now - I honestly don’t even notice it but it’s gorgeous and delicate. Never been an issue in airports etc but if they break or need to be removed, it costs £5 to re-weld them.

I live on the south coast and got it done here
