Does anyone have one of the zapped on bracelets?

I've seen these advertised, but I'd quite like a silver one. Does anyone have one?

Yes I have a silver one 😊 my two childhood friends and I got them as ‘adult’ friendship bracelets 😂 I have silver, one has gold and one has rose gold. We’ve had them for over a year now - I honestly don’t even notice it but it’s gorgeous and delicate. Never been an issue in airports etc but if they break or need to be removed, it costs £5 to re-weld them.

I live on the south coast and got it done here

Could be a problem if there is an injury to the arm and swelling occurs quickly! Can’t see why it has to be permanent!

That gives me anxiety just thinking about it 😱

Same 😆

I have earrings that stay in almost permanently but I like knowing I can take them out if I want to.

ImNotThereAmI · 07/09/2024 20:26

This just feels like a gimmick. Agree with other posters that if a person wants to keep a bracelet on, then can just leave it on. No need to have it welded on.
also wouldn’t work for me as I do a form of exercise where no jewellery is allowed

Usually you take watches and bracelets off to walk through security and put them in those plastic trays

No you don't. I have 2 silver bracelets which I never take off. (They're not welded, I just wear them all the time) I don't take them off. They very occasionally cause a beep, haven't had any issues in recent years.

Same. I have 2 silver bracelets on my left arm I never take off. I used to have a gold bracelet on my right arm but wrists getting fatter meant I had to take it off.

I’ve only heard about these recently and can’t work out what the point of them is. If you want to wear a regular bracelet permanently what’s stopping you? I really feel like I’m missing something.

I agree! Plus I've had two MRI scans and a CT scan recently, and have a little op soon, so I'd have had to have had it removed ....

I said usually. Otherwise you risk the machine going offas you've said

treeindigo · 08/09/2024 16:27

I like the idea of a perfectly sized bracelet without the long dangly chain, I have quite small wrists, but I play a sport and have to take all jewellery off for it.

longdistanceclaraclara · 08/09/2024 16:58

I have never taken jewellery off to go through security.

MouseofCommons · 08/09/2024 17:02

They look so fragile I can't imagine they'd stay on for long.

Yes, this is similar to my thinking 🙂.

Good point about MRI scans. You can't have one unless the bracelet is removed.

This. It's surely a fad that will pass soon enough. Why pay so much for a bracelet that is actually really thin and the welding is quite flimsy from the videos Ive seen. And if becomes unwearable if it has to be cut off etc

treeindigo · 08/09/2024 17:26

I can only assume the people who don't get it at all have no issues finding bracelets their size, it's really annoying when you're not a standard size, I can understand the appeal.

IrisApfel · 08/09/2024 17:27

Several people I follow on Instagram have had them and quite a few have broken within days.

I also said haven't had any issues in recent years.

The machines used to ping for underwired bras. They don't seem to any more. Not only have I not been asked to take off my bracelets, I was told there was no need to.

SquatWeightaMinute · 08/09/2024 17:57

I freak out if I can’t get my sock off quick enough there is no way I would cope with these. They look very dainty and pretty though.

Thistooshallpass24 · 08/09/2024 18:15

They are often quite thin looking, I don't get the wow factor of it
Would also need to be removed for MRI and surgery
Just buy a nice bracelet

SpiderGwen · 08/09/2024 18:19

I’m thinking food prep and making bread… I take all jewellery off for those. It feels kind of unhygienic

Me too, gave me a shudder just thinking of not being able to take it off.
