Mette-Marit in a fairly unremarkable black dress. I'm afraid I think the wife of the Finnish President, standing next to MM, looks like she's wearing one of those capes you get at the hairdresser's.

Mathilde in a very striking outfit. What are we calling this colour? Apple green? Chartreuse? I quite like the very structured shape on her, though I'm not 100% the neckline works.

I would say apple green as it's the exact colour of a Granny Smith! A big improvement on yesterday's suit.

justasking111 · 15/10/2024 20:15

Fergie is 65 today. Gawd I feel old. Hope she's had a lovely day

Eeek, that's not a good look. It does seem like she got her hair done and rushed off to the engagement without removing the hairdressing cape.

Fergie and Beatrice at a charity lunch, with other attendees including Joan Collins and Elizabeth Hurley.
I like Liz’s dress.

Love that green and it suits Mathilde, but although I agree it’s an improvement on yesterday, she still look a a bit like she has been upholstered

Maireas · 15/10/2024 20:52

Yes, I like the colour, but agree that Mathilde's outfits often look very stiff..

As does Liz, who makes regular appearances in a bikini on Instagram at nearly 60!

I like Liz’s dress.

It could be an optical illusion but Fergie looks slimmer than Liz. Look at the comparative sizes of their ankles and calves. Fergie can't be that slim now can she? Is it camera angles and black tights?

I think it’s just their body shape. Sarah F is blessed with slender legs, but is shorter in the torso. Princess Beatrice has the same shaped legs if you look at the photo of those two together. Liz is just a little heavier in the calf. But still has a fine pair of pins

eggandonion · 16/10/2024 08:17

Fergie has magic black tights!

QueryA · 16/10/2024 19:10

Tiara time in Norway. I actually like MMs dress, even though it’s too long. I hate Sonjas green dress and I really don’t think the emerald tiara goes with it. I like the Finnish presidents dress. The most successful of the night

apologies for the mixture of screenshots and images. Newmyroyals doesn’t let you download in a format that MN accepts

Colour specific dress code at the event, intentional coordination by the Spencers or pure coincidence?

SqueakyDinosaur · 17/10/2024 07:21

Oh, Eliza and Amelia's dresses are clearly made in the same fabric. TBH, I think they're a bit old for the "twins, so same-but-different" look. But then I think anyone over the age of nine is, too.

Eaumyword · 17/10/2024 07:24

They are stunningly beautiful women.
They are normally super stylish, but there's a bit too much fabric going on and not sure about the matching twin look either!

QueryA · 17/10/2024 08:56

Another picture of Matilde in France which confirms the dress is a lovely blue. Dior apparently

I don't know which twin it is on the right but her dress looks like something someone would wear to a Gone With The Wind themed party in the 1980s.

Thursday throwback!

Wax & Max (then engaged) at Haakon and Mette-Marit's wedding. This was the first time Max wore a diamond tiara. Look how tiny it is. 😁😁

To be fair to the girls they normally attend completely different types of events, not the royal ones so tried really hard to get it right with their normal designers.

You can see why Catherine sticks with the tried and tested royal designers.

Diana did step outside as her confidence grew but I can't see Catherine doing that very often.

gingercat02 · 17/10/2024 13:49

Max looks so different. Her tiara is a bit Claires Accessories.
Some pics of PA looking very Anne at a youth event at our local council. I like the white coat of the lady in the background.

And the one on the left/in the middle of the trio looks like an extra from Dynasty.
