There just is no way to keep linen uncreased is there? Apart from never sitting down!

Maireas · 14/10/2024 09:19

Yes, I like linen, it's very cool and comfortable, but you have to embrace the creases! I quite like Meghan's outfit, I love the shirt and the trousers look fine, not too baggy.

I had a two piece linen outfit, top and skirt . Once I'd sat down the skirt was a mess front and back crease wise. Drove me mad

My work trousers are a bit long (hem has come down and I’ve put a few small safety pins in as I can’t sew) and I nearly broke my neck tripping over them the other day. Luckily just managed to save myself from going flat on my face.

I have some trousers that the hems fell down (they are a good length, but I caught my foot in them going upstairs as they are quite wide). There is a clothes alterations place near where I work and I took them in there. Apparently the hems had only been glued up (quite common apparently). So the lady re overlocked and sewed them up for me. Quite reasonably priced and no problems since

I think mine have already gone in to the sewing shop once. IIRC it was £18 to have them hemmed.
I’m trying to lose weight to hopefully will be able to get back into my smaller ones soon.

Max meets the Macrons and the French prime minister. Her dress looks red in one pic but burgundy in another.
Leti, with Leonor, was also wearing red under her mac the other day.

Sorry, Mathilde not Max!
And Sophie is on a visit to Africa.

Leti looks great in that lovely bright red.
Not keen on Mathilde's outfit - it's giving governess vibes.
I like Brigitte M's coat.
Sophie doesn't look stylish there but I love that she makes it about the visit not her and doesn't feel the need to 'gussy up'.

I can’t get past mme Macron’s hair….

Eaumyword · 14/10/2024 20:21

Neither can I to be honest. Her outfits are generally super chic but I can't bear that non-moving even at hurricane levels helmet hair...

KillingMeDeftIy · 14/10/2024 21:39

That's a bizarre outfit on Mathilde. La Macron is very chic in her burgundy coat though.

Sophie really is jetting all over the place lately!

Mathilde does look very “Headmistress of Beauxbatons” in her Dior suit there!

They do all look very nice for the evening banquet at Versailles. That’s a really flattering shape Mathilde, I think. No tiaras, though.

Yes, lovely gown! Great shape and super flattering.

deeahgwitch · 15/10/2024 00:24

In the photograph @Papergirl1968 posted Mathilde's suit jacket is another item of clothing with questionable darts

KillingMeDeftIy · 15/10/2024 06:45

The black dress looks really elegant on Mathilde. She is generally better at evening wear than daywear, where she favours some rather frumpifying silhouettes.

smilesy · 15/10/2024 08:06

That up do looks much better on Mme Macron. She doesn’t look like her head is disappearing in to her shoulders. Nice frocks all round

AllTangledUpInMyMonkeyNutNecklace · 15/10/2024 09:08

That helmet head hairstyle makes me twitch every time.

Christian turns 19 today. He looks to be enjoying his time in Africa.

I agree that Mathilde is generally better at evening-wear. She looks great in this dress. Is it black or a very deep aubergine colour?

He looks good in casual-wear. I wonder if he's one of those people - like Zara - who generally look much better in casual clothes than formalwear?

KillingMeDeftIy · 15/10/2024 13:02

Christian is unrecognisable without his curtains!

I think you're right about Mathilde's dress @MotherofPearl it does look to be a deep aurbergine shade.

AllTangledUpInMyMonkeyNutNecklace · 15/10/2024 13:11

I think it's midnight blue judging from these.

Although...looking again I do see what could be a tinge of aubergine!

Yes Christian looks different! I have to say I didn't like his curtain style all that much.

Ditto Meghan

MotherofPearl · 15/10/2024 18:24

Stephanie visiting a maternity ward for Lux's breastfeeding week, apparently.

Quite an earring departure for her. They're rather jolly.

I'm afraid the dress is less successful and I wish she'd gone for different shoes that either picked up the red earrings or tan handbag. White shoes are always an abomination in my book.
