Laura Geller make up

Hi
Has anyone used Laura Geller?
In particular the baked foundation?
I’m tempted to buy the balance & brighten or balance & glow.
As it’s online though it’s difficult to really know what it’s like.
Is it better than other foundations?
Is it true to colour.
All opinions very welcome.
I don’t use foundation a lot. When I do I use Elizabeth Arden flawless finish. I’ve been using that for years though and not sure if I’m due a change.

I use it. It's pretty good. I used to use the Estée Lauder but found it settled into wrinkles. The Laura Geller baked lasts longer and gives a nice glowy, matt finish. You can sometimes get good offers on LookFantastic.

Holidayhell22 · 03/09/2024 20:03

Thank you OllyBJolly
Which one of the baked ones do you use? On the website there are 3.

I love the Laura Geller baked stuff, it has a lovely finish for my ( nearly 50 year old) skin. I like natural-looking make up, just want it to even my skin tone and give me a nice glow. I get compliments on my skin a lot, even though, underneath it all, I have red patches.

suki1964 · 03/09/2024 20:34

I started to wear LG just this year, about Easter, and Im hooked

I used to wear Estee Lauder but it was caking, tried a good few other liquid foundations and nope all caked, settled or split, and I hated the feel of them. Saw the ad for LG, remembered her from QVC 30 years ago ( I was wearing bare minerals then ) and thought worth the punt

I wear the balance and brighten in Light. To give an idea in No7 Im a warm ivory

That doesnt cover much, it balances what you have, gives a healthy glow.

I also wear the double take - in fair - that covers. Thats like EL Double wear

I also have the palette , - now you can buy a starter with choice of foundation, choice of primer along with the palette

I have combination skin, Im 60, more then a few fine lines, very dry sore patches , oil slick of a t zone, and the combo of the 2 foundations cover the worse of all sins :) . I work in a busy restaurant,it lasts the day. Its like a brighter better version of you rather then someone who is trying to wipe their flaws clean of the map

I love it too, the balance and brighten, I ordered 2 last week from laura geller as they were half price.i haven't tried the balance and glow as some reviews say it too glowy

Holidayhell22 · 03/09/2024 22:01

Thanks everyone. Think I’m going to give it a punt.

The one I have is Double Take Baked in Fair @Holidayhell22

reesewithoutaspoon · 03/09/2024 22:07

If youve never used QVC they stock the laura geller stuff. £5 of its your first order and they have a brilliant returns policy. If you don't like it or it doesn't suit you can just send it back for a refund. Worth it if you have never used it before.

adagio · 03/09/2024 22:13

Balance and brighten is fab use it every day - fair in winter when I’m pale medium in summer when I am less pale. I’m 45 and it’s been my go to for at least 10 years.

Newlittlerescue · 03/09/2024 22:20

I use Balance and Brighten and it's a great skin match, looks very natural, and glowy but it doesn't give much coverage (it knocks my age spots back a shade but in no way disguises them!). In theory you can build up the coverage but I haven't been successful. But I still love it for all its other qualities!

QVC uk never have it in stock and it sells out in minutes when they are showing it :(

You can order with confidence from the LG. Com website. The site is laggy and not the best though tbh

My advice is make an account with the site, yes you will get bombed with mail but Gmail sorts that ( I have a separate gmail for shopping ) and take advantage of the offers, not paid their listed price ever. You will pay P&P. Delivery has been for me in NI 3 weeks of order. Its less to GB

Any problems, and I have had broken products arrive, photo evidence, go onto site and use the Chat To A Pro. Prompt action is taken. You will be refunded within 5 days and you dont have to return the item

For me I love the feel of it, IE I cant feel it on my skin. Since I got the baked products I have branched out and am loving her corrector - such a great colour match for me its near invisible , so easily blended and I think as I become more confident I will use it more ( I use on the eyes and no it hasn't creased or settled on me ) I have the mascara, its good coverage and a great wand, but it doesnt dry very quickly and I do need to do a clean up. Her Kajal pencils, both eye and lips are like sticking shit to a blanket - they dont shift :)

Do moisturise, and using a primer is recommended. I use hers and another over my t-zone because as I say, Im running an oil slick there still.

Lots of bad reviews saying the foundation is yellow. I had to say that it can actually look quite yellow on application. However when I sit in natural light it looks colour matched. My dressing table is under a skylight so I do get natural light

circular1985 · 03/09/2024 23:22

I love the baked foundation. My teen dd now borrows it so I'll get getting her her own soon. I tend to wear it as a finishing powder over light BB cream/ skin tint.

Holidayhell22 · 04/09/2024 19:48

Thanks for all your input I’ve ordered the baked foundation in light.

Is it a powder? I'm tempted but like quite a dewy finish?

Its a baked foundation. So the liquid foundation is then baked in the sun in italy so it looks like a powder, but its actually really creamy and dewy

You will certainly get a dewy finish with Baked Balance and Brighten, more so with the Balance and glow. The double take is matte

Go look on youtube, theres a lot of "normal" peoples reactions to it. Some think wow - shine city, others love it . I really adore the blushers, such a lovely glow but you really need a light hand :)

hattie43 · 04/09/2024 21:14

QVC has a Laura Geller TSV on screen right now . A mixed product pallet and brush for £39.96. A good chance to try her products . This offer only lasts a day or until it sells out so be quick if interested. Her balance and brighten is lovely

That palette I have and its really lovely. I only use one of the highlighters mind, but the bronzer and blush are really nice and the eyeshadows are pretty enough and easy blended - if not as dense in colour as the blushers are

AlwaysKindaKnewYoudBeTheDeathOfMe · 04/09/2024 22:54

I've just ordered the bright and balance for £18 from the LG site so we'll see, fingers crossed!

lindyloo57 · 05/09/2024 08:59

I ordered from the laura geller website on 25th August, I normally buy from qvc but because LG had a half price sale I purchased from them, I'm still waiting for delivery, do anyone know how it usually take?.

Im in NI and it can take up to 10 days after you get the shipping email with the tracking number . If you are buying during a sale it can take them a week before they dispatch
Ive had one parcel get lost at the Royal Mail but got that refunded as soon as I let them know

ChanelBoucle · 06/09/2024 07:22

Following with interest. Thanks for the recommendations.

NormaLouiseBates · 06/09/2024 07:26

It doesn't work well if you have dry skin in my experience. It settled into all the fine lines and even found some new ones to highlight. I gave it to my oily skinned friend and she loves it!

You do need to apply a good moisturiser for sure. I have combination skin and it really has been the only foundation that stays put on my t-zone and doesnt cake around my nose and between the eyebrows

lindyloo57 · 06/09/2024 08:42

@suki1964 thanks, i have done the tracking it says in transit hopefully it will be delivered soon.

lindyloo57 · 08/09/2024 09:52

My order still hasn't arrived it must be lost, when I tracked it, it says its been at the distribution centre on 31/8/ 24 and its still there, so I emailed LG for a refund which they gave me minus the postage white don't seem fair as I never received them.
