Are they good? I am not sure if I’ve been sucked in by the pricing here but would appreciate your thoughts if you’ve bought from this brand before. It’s a new one one me but I have heard of the brand before.

I have the long down squall coat so waterproof and wind proof too.

It's very toasty indeed.

umberellaonesie · 02/09/2024 19:38

I have loads I really like them

Portakalkedi · 02/09/2024 19:46

Had a Squall coat, was too warm for me so had to sell it! I think their outwear is generally good, other stuff not so great in recent years.

Aydel · 02/09/2024 19:48

Yes, love them, but live in Central Europe where it’s quite a bit colder in winter.

sleepwithblanket · 02/09/2024 19:54

Lovely. Thank you. Fingers crossed it’s good when it comes. I live in rural Scotland so we do get cold. I also have a few nights a week pitch side for rugby.

I was out searching for my dog in -4 for 8 hours and wasn't freezing.

Is that one wind and waterproof? If it isn't I'd look for down squall coat.

Cobblersorchard · 02/09/2024 20:45

They are very good. The factory shop is near me so I have a few.

Flamingmentalcats · 02/09/2024 20:53

I have had that coat and all the filling balled up when I washed it, so there were empty patches of coat that was just material and no filling.
After about a year I emailed customer service to say what had happened, not expecting anything, just to say really as I was a bit miffed I was having to buy another coat so soon, and they refunded my money. Their customer service is excellent and i might have just got a bad coat.

Velvetbee · 02/09/2024 20:53

Had mine for years, really good.

CurlewKate · 02/09/2024 20:54

I had a squall stadium coat during the football touchline/horse show years. I LOVED it. Too warm for me for normal life in the UK though.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 02/09/2024 20:56

I have a knee length down coat bought from eBay for a steal years ago, still going strong. I always bought the kids' coats from there as well.

Longhotsummers · 02/09/2024 20:58

I have that coat and it’s going strong after around 8 years. It’s so toasty and warm. In fact, I haven’t worn it much in recent warmer winters but when it is really cold, it’s brilliant.

Scintillae · 02/09/2024 20:59

I also have the same coat. Very, very warm and cosy.

sleepwithblanket · 02/09/2024 21:01

Fantastic feedback. Thanks all
so much.

Landsend don't do free returns - always feels a massive risk to order from them. Its a shame as they have good basics.

Summertimer · 02/09/2024 21:05

Sounds like a great coat. Amazed that you have already bought a winter coat

It’s already quite cold at times up here. Stood last Friday on the touch line about 8 pm and needed a coat for sure.

I have that coat - its like wearing a duvet (in a good way!) i love it and thats a great price. It is really warm so its both my everyday coat but its fab for the walk to the bus stop when its cold. I love landsend for coats generally - theyre all marked as warm, warmer, warnest which. Wa devastated when i went on the other day and discovered they dont have kids anymore so i had to buy the kids winter coats on vinted instead. (Actually have a look on vinted .... youll probably find that coat is a bargain cos they tend to hold their value quite well ive found)

Bramblesandbracken · 02/09/2024 22:37

@sleepwithblanket we’re Highlands and a lot of my neighbours swear by Landsend coats. I’m okay in my HH sailing gear but otherwise I’d get one. Also - really, really recommend Didrikson’s extra warm children’s coats, superb!

unsync · 02/09/2024 23:11

I can recommend the Expedition coats. I have worn them in Norway, in January, in a blizzard. You can go out in just thermals and a tee shirt with one of these on top. They are really well insulated. They have double zips and side vents so you can walk in them. The wrists have proper ribbed cuffs to keep the weather out. They are windproof and waterproof. Just double check your measurements. My only negative is if you have large upper arms, you may need to size up. You should be able to get one for around £100, don't pay full price, there's always a discount sale of some sort every week.

Myteasgonecoldiknow · 02/09/2024 23:14

Great discount on link! I had one and loved it but the sleeves were too short, annoyed me for years!

Myteasgonecoldiknow · 02/09/2024 23:15

Not that particular one I hasten to add

Userinneedoftea · 02/09/2024 23:36

Glad to see this thread I ordered this one last night https://www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Water_Repellent_Waxed_Cotton_Parka_/pp/P_42901.html
I used to buy dcs coats from there and they passed down 3dc and were still in good condition. I struggle to find petite coats that fit right so hoping this does the job.

Seashellsbytheseashire · 02/09/2024 23:46

I have the parka and it's ok but not amazing. I also liked the petite aspects. Positives are that the sleeve length is good, it is warm and holds out the rain. Negatives: The hood pops off so easily at any chance which is really annoying that you look quite disheveled a lot of the time and it's difficult to hand up. It has lots of useful pockets but the coat becomes really unflattering as soon as you use them. For a winter coat I think it's cut a little too short.

It's ok, probably good for the price but I'm still looking for a better coat.
