Help Size 9 women's brogues

Help I have no work shoes and desperately need some currently wearing boots for work which is not appropriate, there seems to be a bizarre fitting issue. Bought some basic brogues from Newlook two years ago absolutely loved them and were perfect with my insoles and every outfit I wore. Went back to buy the same pair in the same size 9 couldn't get my foot in them. Checked the code and it's the same as before.

I asked the assistant and she said we're having problems with sizing...a size 9 and is now a size 8 manufacturers are making things smaller. Tried various shoe shops (Clark's couldn't get my foot into, Yours perfect length but the width was too narrow so couldn't get my feet into them) it's impossible to get a decent size 9 fit with an a slim orthotic insole.

Please help me find a decent brogue style shoe wide fit size 9 (or it appears now size 10) I would be grateful for any links. I can't afford to have them made unfortunately.

Thanks

Look at Hotter.
Im a 9 and from time to time, buy from them. Sandals in the sale mostly.

Can you get away with something like this:

BishyBarnyBee · 01/09/2024 11:23

Are either of these what you are looking for?

Hotter 9s are a bit marginal on me. These are Clarks and are comfortable.

They may still make them, or PM me if you want to make me an offer. Both barely worn, been sitting in the wardrobe since pre pandemic, just not got round to thinking about getting rid of them.

(Not sure if that's against site rules but I'm sure someone will let me know if it is!)

Do you need a size 43 or thereabouts?
I would look on Zalando. On each shoe you can also toggle between the UK size and the manufacturer size.
I need a 42.5 or a 43 and these can be labelled as anything from an 8 to a 10.5 so don't just look at the 9s, have a look at the 10s too and toggle to the manufacturer's size which I think is more accurate than the arbitrary UK size that they have translated it to.

WutheringMights · 01/09/2024 12:05

Same as @rhiannon1967 - look for size 43 as this should be a true size 9.
Many retailers sell their 42's as a size 9 but they are more like a size 8 so don't be fooled. I've spent many an hour queuing at the post office returning incorrectly advertised footwear!

Have u tried wide fit Clarkes? I managed to.get a size 8 wide foot patent loafer. I am usually 9. It so frustrating I know
There seems to.be less cjoice than ever before.
I gad to buy another insole size 8.

Dodgyguts · 01/09/2024 14:14

Next do 43 for size 9 and have the option of wide fit too.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/09/2024 14:19

Why not get a men's brogue instead? Far easier to source, wider and frequently better quality.

BCBird · 01/09/2024 14:21

I once had to buy a pair of men's shoes in France- was unpleasant having to.do it. I.have had to do the same with walking boots. Expect yo.be able to.buy women's

Men’s feet are anatomically different to women’s. It’s not always as simple as buying men’s shoes.

I've tried men's and they look awful on my feet unfortunately, found them either too wide and look terrible or they are too narrow and really rub.

If you fancy something a bit different then these might work. https://embassylondon.co.uk/products/vivienne-black-flower?_pos=2&_fid=0a46e5038&_ss=c&variant=41061836783676

Not to fancy so still work as black work shoes.

It's telling me the link has expired when I click on it? Do you have a picture please?

Lanx do both brogues and true 9s. But they are spendy.

They may be true 9s, but so narrow I couldn't get my feet in!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/09/2024 17:46

Next Boys I have had these in several colours. They fit, and look, fine. And £40!

Cupcakegirl13 · 01/09/2024 17:47

Evans do proper size 9
