I need a large bag like a Longchamp Pliage

But larger! Not to replace a suitcase but to put all my things I need for the plane - passports, magazines, toiletries, flip flops, headrest etc. I've tried using my large Pliage on the plane but it isn't quite big enough. I'd like something durable and well-made

I have a large tote bag with zip and internal pockets I always use on flights from Decathlon

I do have a le pliage but I prefer my decathlon bag

Inside I have foldable bags also from Decathlon

janeintheframe · 27/07/2024 15:19

What’s your budget, I have this and it’s a great size.

My DD banned me from a leather tote bag like that for being too naff

For me leather is too heavy along with anything inside it

It would just fuck up my shoulders

KateDelRick · 27/07/2024 15:22

Are you sure your large pliage isn't big enough? It's roomy enough for me to use as an overnight bag! I'm sure it's plenty large enough for a plane?

KateDelRick · 27/07/2024 15:23

Yes, I agree with you about leather, @LightFull , especially when you're travelling.

reallywhywouldyou · 27/07/2024 15:27

They do a travel bag, it's fab

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/longchamp-le-pliage-original-medium-travel-bag/black/p5051162?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

@reallywhywouldyou does it have a shoulder strap?

I am coveting it...

reallywhywouldyou · 27/07/2024 15:31

Unfortunately not but it's light enough to carry by the handle. It also folds up when not in use.

reallywhywouldyou · 27/07/2024 15:33

This one has a strap, but it's a bit pricey

Tory Burch has some large totes.

This canvas one might fit the bill.

LightFull · 27/07/2024 15:45

@janeintheframe

Honestly DD bans me from a lot things Grin

That said she wears loads of my old clothes that I can no longer fit into from 15-30 years ago.

So I guess my taste is generally ok

She's nicked my le pliage for college

BecuaseIWantItThatWay · 27/07/2024 15:46

Love this! I have had mine for two years, it's amazing and still looks brand new after 2+ years and many many trips!

I've noticed a lot of 6th form and college students using le pliage!

LightFull · 27/07/2024 15:50

Yes they're a good size for laptops and books and sturdy

She also carries a material tote at times for more items

I would buy myself another one but I really love my Decathlon bag so I'll buy one once that falls apart

SuperGreens · 27/07/2024 15:54

I have the Longchamp Boxford travel range they have shapes like the Pliage but bigger, and nicer I think.

KateDelRick · 27/07/2024 15:55

Are they as light as Le Pliage?

Gorgeous but €€€€€

TheTingleCreek564 · 27/07/2024 16:13

Maybe look for second hand Longchamp Boxford?

Vinted or Vestiare Collective?

PragmaticDramatic · 27/07/2024 17:50

You can get a travel version of the Le Pliage
