Not sure “nice” and “viscose” can be used in the same sentence… natural fibres look much classier

I think I agree with you on the whole - it's probably worth a thread of its own - but it can be hard to find things in cotton or linen. (though the original jumpsuit is cotton).

And not all viscose feels or looks horrible. It's made from wood pulp....

Viscose is , as you say, made from cellulose, or wood pulp. At its best Lyocell/ Tencel/ Ecovero Lenzing, which is a beautiful fabric with a silky feel to it which drapes well. Tencel is mainly from eucalyptus but also beech, birch and spruce trees. They can be grown without pesticdes , fertiliser or irrigation. Cotton uses more energy and water to produce it than tencel.

Well said, and also @BigDahliaFan. This info needs getting out there much more.

First one for everyday, second for a night out, sorted. Just saw two really nice ones in Asda, but the crotches are mid thigh, would drive me nuts!

Ah, ok - Friday night out with friends?

The first is too underwhelming - it’s running into Tesco or entertaining kids in the garden wear.

The second is Way Too Shiny!

There are millions of other choices.

However. If I were in my 50s <shakes memory box> and needing ‘out with friends’ clothes this year, I’d be looking for co ords, not a jumpsuit.

Something like this, with the trousers:

Or maybe this sort of thing:

The first one looks like a hollywood movie prison uniform

Goodness they are pretty unattractive looking garments. As pp says the first looks like Florida state prison uniform on death row and the second looks like a version of a handmaid tale outfit that one of the Marthas might wear if they were allowed on a night out!

BeNoisyCritic · 24/07/2024 19:46

link didnt take me to the item sadly

Packetofcrispsplease · 25/07/2024 09:12

I like it , but I am fair skinned with dark hair and like those colours on me

GingerPirate · 25/07/2024 09:17

No, sorry.
And how do you take a pee wearing this, undressing completely? (Never worn one).
😁

JemOfAWoman · 25/07/2024 09:17

I bought a jumpsuit from Hush a few months ago (61 and size 14/16) bloody love it! Jazz it up with jewellery and a nice bag and bingo!

You'd figure it out. Loose ones you just slip them off your shoulders, and push them down, so they're pretty much like trousers.
Just don't wear a jumper or layers over them.

I've not worn one that's fitted or with a back zip.

The first one I linked to is very easy - There's a button on the front holding the V together and then it just slips down.

The Phase 8 one is a bit more of a wriggle but not too bad as it's got a back zip.

I've another one that is a back zip but is very stretchy material and that just slips off too really once you've undone the top of the zip.

Jumpsuits are not especially fashionable these days. I don't know if fashion interests you OP but if it does I would avoid. They are trending towards dated now.

I would go for a co-ord set instead. There's loads around. And easier to go to the loo in.

That's nice - I'd try it if it wasn't black....doesn't look too playsuit or garage mechanic or prisoner....

No not all at fashionable...but equally don't want to look like a complete plank either.

I do find coords difficult as I tend to look like I'm in my jammies....

Co-ords!

GoldFrame · 25/07/2024 16:05

None of these are suitable for a Friday night out.

Does it have to be a jumpsuit?

There are lots of lovely wide leg trousers around, that might be better

MotherofGorgons · 25/07/2024 16:05

Co order look like jammies on nearly everyone.

Wendycoping · 25/07/2024 16:08

@BigDahliaFan I am almost exactly the same age height and size as you and I like it all except the leg width.

Thanks - just bought that! Does it wash OK? Did you get a 14 or a 16?

Wendycoping · 25/07/2024 16:13

Aixellency · 24/07/2024 10:43

(Yes … Because that’s what’s fashionable at the moment!)

Only my stick thin 20 year old dd could wear those and not look a bit silly!

Aixellency · 25/07/2024 16:27

Thankfully I live in a world where I’m allowed to wear fashionable clothes even if I am not your daughter, @Wendycoping.

And I thank the universe for that freedom.

Surely it depends on where you are going and what you are doing...?

But anyway what would you think was suitable on a night out?

Bit dramatic.

You crack on. I didn't like either of the things you linked to, but I've seen enough fashion in my time to be confident about what I look good in.

FourToTheMFingFloor · 25/07/2024 16:43

It's kinda shapeless, looks like it would hang off my arse!

Not keen on the print either. It's a bit '80% off at Boden because they couldn't shift it'.

FourToTheMFingFloor · 25/07/2024 16:44

The only jumpsuits I have are black satin; they look very neat and sleek. Patterns and baggieness don't work I don't think.
