Is there such a thing as a comfortable bra?

If so, please tell me about it! I am so fed up with trying out new styles that feel comfortable enough when I try them on… but which I’m ready to rip off by lunch time. Underwired bras I find hellish, non-wired styles end up riding up so that the band digs in - and the support isn’t great.

I’ve been for a fitting and was recommended a style that felt too tight in the end. I never used to find bras so unbearable, I’m so conscious of them now! Perhaps it’s a menopausal thing.

I’m size 34D. Please share your best bra tips!

Following this as I haven't had a bra fitting in 12 years and that was before I had my 2 kids. My most comfortable bra is M&S which is now slightly too big on the cups as my breasts disappeared after bf. However I always remember in the past after a fitting they would say I need 32 to hold the breast properly but always found it too tight and now I wear a 34 or 36 as id rather have hanging breasts then feel like I'm being strangled around the body with elastic marks on my skin! Sorry not really useful but some very good responses here

Lots of lovely-sounding suggestions here - but not one that caters to my 34J monsters!
I just want a cotton bra that supports without pain!
(And will someone tell me WHY does any bra company use scratchy materials in any part of a bra?) I'm nearly 60 and have never really solved the sag-v-pain conundrum. Going without is just uncomfortable.
