Have seen these - anyone tried?

Much more expensive then I would usually go for and I'm a little bit concerned the wait and might look a bit bumpy on my size 12/14 belly opposed to the svelte size 8 in the pics.

I'm not sure why they'd be worth the money

Typo...I mean the WAIST might be bumpy

I'm sure you could get similar in M and S .

ANiceCuppaTeaandBiscuit · 13/07/2024 20:09

Are you tall? I always find Me&Em very long so need to be taken up, so I always have to factor that additional cost in. But I’ve bought their joggers before and they’re super comfy and hang really nicely.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 13/07/2024 22:46

I like Me + Em but more and more likely I'll be mistaken for a Labour MP, it feels a bit like when Rishi wore Sambas

Scirocco · 13/07/2024 23:27

I've liked Me+Em stuff and found it good quality, but I wouldn't pay that for joggers and the waist looks like it wouldn't be particularly flattering on a curvier/larger frame - it would just add more bulk to the waist area rather than accentuating a defined waist or skimming over lumps and bumps.

Perfectlystill · 13/07/2024 23:30

I used to like Me&Em but the constant featuring of politicians in their stuff does put me off.

As do the totally flat chested androgynous models in their catalogues. I have tits and do not resemble a teenage boy so think their stuff is not for me.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 13/07/2024 23:31

I found Me & Em joggers to be really poor quality material, especially considering the vast price tag. They’re also very long and I had to take them up, the pockets are too small for a phone and sit really weirdly so they give you a camel toe - I’ve literally never had this problem before or since with clothes that don’t cost four times the normal rate.

kirkandpetal · 14/07/2024 00:00

Thanks everyone for feedback.....I think my initial concerns re waist band and cost means this is a no go. Plus I'm only 5ft6 and can't be faffed with taking up hems etc!

Will look at alternatives that people have posted.

The patch pockets are not flattering. All in all this is an extremely low key look that M&S Collection have been doing for decades at a fraction of the price. Nothing wrong with being comfy and I love wide trousers but I would definitely want something a LOT fancier for over £100 quid.

EllenLRipley · 14/07/2024 07:18

BAM have some lovely ones in the sale at the moment https://bambooclothing.co.uk/category/womens-clearance/womens-sale-bottoms/page/2/

Staringatthewalljustmeagain · 14/07/2024 07:59

I like the brand but by Christ that is expensive for joggers. I don’t know how good they’d look on someone who wasn’t super lean. And they’re always really long. Shredded hems are not a good look.

I'm pretty sure you can. Can't believe that people would pay £150 for those.

Vikina · 14/07/2024 09:33

I have some Me and Em palazzo pants I bought in a sale during the pandemic. They're one of the most versatile items in my wardrobe and I love them, they've been worth every penny. I've never bought anything else from them though and the Angela Rayner Green trouser suit has put me off.

PinkTonic · 14/07/2024 09:44

I like the brand and that’s not surprising because I’m in its target market. It’s also not surprising that it’s being worn by women in the public eye such as politicians, wives of politicians and members of the royal family and I’m not sure why that would put people off.

I’ve had a number of pairs of jogger type trousers from there which have looked great and washed and worn well. I’ve never bought any in the sweatshirting fabric as it’s not my thing and I don’t like the pockets on those, but nevertheless they will in a different league to M&S.

I am getting a bit fed up that every time someone posts something in this sort of price range that the main response is about the price, usually with a load of cheap ‘similar’ suggestions.

I agree with your comments about the price and quality. The quality and weight of the fabric my palazzo pants is exceptional. Way better than M&S. Much more expensive but very long lasting and wash well.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 14/07/2024 11:32

I’ve had joggers from new look, Zara, Topshop and the one pair from Me & Em (bought on sale) were definitely worse quality than the cheapo ones from the other shops. They were thinner and bobbled more after a wash. It’s not always the case that paying more gets you more - sometimes you just get ripped off.

hulahooper2 · 14/07/2024 12:09

take a look in zara , though usually things look better in real life than they do on the online model

Blinky21 · 14/07/2024 12:21

I've got a Me & Em dress in that material, it creases really easily and bobbles so don't think it's worth the price

Germainesays · 14/07/2024 12:35

Recent photos of Mrs Starmer and Angela Rayner in Me+ Em outfits do reveal that in RL even slim women look nothing like the static, size eight, tall and long-legged models on the website. Rayner's green suit looked dreadful.

OP, did you check out the olive version of those joggers? You can see that they have some weird seaming that looks very odd. Probably why they're in the sale.

KirstenBlest · 14/07/2024 13:48

Try M&S. They're just joggers and they probably go baggy-kneed quite quickly.

CatOnAStarCloud · 14/07/2024 14:47

I bought the two towelling joggers from there and those are great. I'm 5'6" and wouldn't want them any longer but I don't have to take items up, ever.

For anyone wondering about fit, it's not standard across all items. The size guide gives the measurements of that item. I'm hourglass and can see from the measurements that some trousers clearly wouldn't fit me because they're that androgynous shape, but other items do fit well. I don't always buy the same size either. By using the size guide everything I've ordered fits well and I've not had to send anything back.

Newposter180 · 14/07/2024 17:13

The horizontal seams straight across the thighs would look absolutely awful on me - I think you’d need slim legs!

Easipeelerie · 14/07/2024 17:26

I’ve just bought some really cheap joggers from Matalan. I’ve looked in every shop and these seemed softer and thicker than most.
