Most things worn on the bottom except underarm and socks. Tops I have to make a division based on how swesty I’ve been. For example yesterday i wore my top to lunch then the supermarket and will bung it in again. On Friday I was walking around Edinburgh, it was warm and I was sweating a bit so it’s in the wash. I also use a clothes spray that helps to remove any smells like perfume or cooking so I can wear things again.

Since menopause I’ve found it harder to wear things twice….I just sweat more….

So do I

rainbowbee · 14/07/2024 11:53

Most things (unless stained) except socks, tights and pants. I'm careful with gym wear too. I have a few good wool jumpers that get aired rather than washed.

Boater · 14/07/2024 11:55

Knickers, socks and tights get washed after one wear. The rest gets worn again.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/07/2024 11:58

Bras, cardigans, overshirts

SummerSnowstorm · 14/07/2024 12:03

Bra, jeans, sometimes jumper.

CurlewKate · 14/07/2024 12:04

Everything except pants and socks unless it's visibly dirty.

BobbyBiscuits · 14/07/2024 12:05

I don't really wear them anymore, but a bra.
I'd wear a pair of joggers for a couple days if they weren't visibly dirty. I guess jeans as well, but I don't wear those anymore either.

RosesAndHellebores · 14/07/2024 12:13

I sweat far less post menopause and can get away with wearing a dress and some tops two times if it isn't too hot. I have clean underwear including bra every day. Everything else when ot needs it: usually three wears for trousers, several for skirts/knitwear, three fir nighties.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 14/07/2024 12:14

Everything except knickers, socks and maybe a tight to the armpit non-cotton vest or top.

Sdpbody · 14/07/2024 12:24

Jeans and bras are the only acceptable answers.

Persiancouscous · 14/07/2024 12:25

Jeans and bra

ZiriForGood · 14/07/2024 12:37

For me T-shirt, knickers and socks are changed daily without individual evaluation.

Everything else is as needed, a week (or equivalent number of wears) for bras and pyjamas (I shower in the evening), some trousers or cardigans can last longer.

Benjilassi · 14/07/2024 12:40

Everything apart from socks, knickers and sports wear.

Mum2jenny · 14/07/2024 19:37

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 14/07/2024 08:43

You wash jumpers after a week? Wool jumpers? Why?

Never wear wool jumpers as I’m allergic to wool

sciencemama · 14/07/2024 19:40

Jeans can last me a few days (I often change into the same jeans after work mon- fri)
Work clothes within reason
Hoodies and jumpers

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/07/2024 21:04

Jeans, cardigans, and “house joggers” get worn more than once. Everything else gets washed.

Moier · 14/07/2024 21:11

Coat
Jacket
Jeans
That's it.

LaurieFairyCake · 14/07/2024 21:12

I wash all my jumpers once a year - I've got about 30 of them so in winter they probably get worn a dozen times each

clottedcremer · 14/07/2024 21:15

Jeans, skirts, shorts.

Not anything that's touched my armpits, feet or privates!

Which is the reccomendation from upmarket woolen brands.

echt · 15/07/2024 00:36

Anything except underwear and socks. Unless they're stained.

Everything else is aired inside out on a coat hanger before being put away.

Woollens spot cleaned and washed infrequently.

Everything except knickers, tights, and socks. I don't understand this wear something once and throw it in the wash mentality. I'm not in the UK but we see advice on TV here telling people that clothes don't need washing after every wear. My clothes don't smell after a day's wear, even in summer, I suggest those whose do should look for a better deodorant.

Edited

Or you could just accept that not everyone is like you, and you're not the Washing Oracle?

There's a limit to the amount of body parts I can apply deodorant to - when hot I produce a light mist of perspiration all over rather than sweating profusely from just a couple of places. (It's very efficient for cooling, my body adapted after living in a super hot climate for many years.)

I could easily rewear socks because my feet don't sweat, perhaps there's something wrong with yours and your 'wear socks once' mentality?

HolyJackaMoly · 15/07/2024 02:51

Parachute trews and vests

Well obviously there are going to be a few people who have different requirements but the majority don't. Why do people have to take things so personally?

I live in a country which has far more hot weather than the UK does, and I no-one I know is a super sweater, so I imagine the majority of people on MN aren't either.

As I have already pointed out, there are advisory segments on TV here telling people they don't need to wash clothes as often as they think they do - so I imagine they are also catering to the majority. But no doubt if you lived here you would deem it necessary to write and complain. Incidentally, I probably could wear my socks more than once as my feet don't sweat much either, I just think that as they have been encased in shoes for most of the day they could do with a wash - and if you bothered to actually read this thread you would see that nearly every post mentions daily changing of socks.
