For me:
Underarm laser hair removal
Medical grade skincare products
Botox (for now but I know there a shelf life )
Buying less clothes but spending more per item

OP posts:
StormingNorman · 13/07/2024 18:22

Skincare
Botox
Good hairdresser

fiorentina · 13/07/2024 18:26

A personal trainer to really challenge me and change my shape, combined with Pilates.
Botox.
Giving up alcohol.
Fewer but more expensive clothes - don’t keep anything I don’t love.
Invisalign and teeth whitening.

WashableVelvet · 13/07/2024 18:38

HRT
l’oreal beauty tubes mascara
With a bit of luck, in a few years I’ll be able to add keeping my good quality 00s workwear in the back of the wardrobe til it came back in fashion 😂 (fitted knee length dresses in suiting fabrics…le sigh)

SparrowFeet · 13/07/2024 18:56

Philips Lumea
A personal trainer
Botox every now and again
Filler for volume loss once a year (although if I had to save and not spend on one thing I would keep the top three and lose this. It is SO expensive.

PurpleChrayn · 13/07/2024 19:11

Eyebrow micro blading. I've gone from looking like Matt Lucas without makeup to looking passably decent.

FinallyHere · 13/07/2024 21:29

All the water, min 2.5L every day

Microbladed eyebrows to boost my very sparse hairs and restore the arch shape

Brilliant hairdresser and weekly blow dry.

'Soft focus' on Teams where I spend most of my working hours. I accept that if my colleagues ever meet me in real life they will spot the difference but meanwhile.

BlueAnd · 13/07/2024 22:23

Laser hair removal.

Facial massage and oil cleansing, which I have been doing since 1997, and SPF. I am fifty and have no pronounced wrinkles anywhere.

What I call my unholy trinity - a beautiful watch, ring, and manicure at all times.

Good hairdressing and just enough dentistry. I really don’t like Invisalign I’m afraid, as it gives everyone the same charmless uniformity regardless of their face shape and jawline, like eyebrows that are the wrong shape for your brow bones.

missfliss · 13/07/2024 22:27

Personal trainer
HRT
Sunscreen

Restaurantcritic · 13/07/2024 22:33

Botox- I have it and I’m late 50s. Just don’t go for perfectly smooth as that looks odd. Just a bit to relax the wrinkles.

Arraminta · 14/07/2024 12:12

For me it's the largely 'unseen' quite subtle stuff that makes the most impact.

So, I have my teeth professionally whitened. I use UK Lash serum (sometimes my lashes get so long I have to trim them). I had my sparse eyebrows properly micro-bladed by a good tattoo artist (not a beauty therapist who had just done a weekend course), so they subtley frame my face again. I have Botox but only on my 'IIs'. I have hair that is thick but very fine and has a tendency to go fluffy and too bouffant, so I have a Keratin Blowdry which tames my hair and makes it smooth and glossy. I have regular Shellac manicures and pedicures.

I think because I have these basics done I can still look groomed and put together even in just jeans and a sweater.

ResetandRestart · 14/07/2024 15:02

For those of you who have done laser does it hurt? Xx

spikeandbuffy · 14/07/2024 15:09

Tretinoin
Micropigmentation for my eyebrows
Peloton
A curly specialist hair dresser

AthenaWhite · 14/07/2024 15:29

Tretinoin, SPF 50 every day, Foreo Bear

CaliforniaChill · 14/07/2024 15:50

I don’t think I take as much care of me as I should, but I think when I read back my list, I’m probably high maintenance 😂

My investments, accumulative over years;

Tretonoin
Generally good skin care. Not what’s expensive, but what my skin likes
Monthly radio and micro current facial to tone
NuFace and FOREO Bear
Electrolosis on menopausal hairs on face

Ketatin treatments, done myself
Total obsession with good condition hair
Cut n colour every 3 months

I had arm and leg laser years ago. No hairs there
Having underarms lasered at present, might then do bikini

Eyebrows always shaped and tinted
Top Lip always hair free

Footner once a year, use foot file few times a week
Gel pedicure every 2-3 months

I wear minimal makeup. I don’t need it as my skin is good

Gym membership
Part of running club
Reformer Pilates twice a week

I don’t care about clothes or accessories. Not sure why, I’m just not. Obviously too knackered from all the maintenance.

Planning on;

Teeth whitening
Bikini line laser
A different facial in the winter to full on remove any imperfections e.g. red veins, sun spots

I don’t want to have Botox or fillers, but TBH I don’t think I need them.

Ooh, can you please give more info on your hair? What keratin treatment do you do on yourself and how else do you keep it looking good?

CaliforniaChill · 14/07/2024 20:11

User1469, of course

I use Cocochocco Gold and do it myself
I use a keratin friendly shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and hair serum. I like Keratheraphy.
I get a cut and colour every 3 months, I do the keratin treatment 2 weeks before
I only do the keratin treatment in Autumn/ Winter
I rarely use heat on my hair, and let it dry naturally. I think this is the no. 1 reason why it’s in good condition. Obviously in winter I dry it.
I use a hair oil serum, usually Moroccan M Oil
I have a silk pillowcase
I recently bought a hair steamer that you put on and plug in, and it heats up. Use with conditioner. It was baby soft afterwards. They are about £15 on Amazon.

Peaceandquietandacuppa · 14/07/2024 20:11

Following!

I have been using Beauty Pie retinol, hyaluronic, and vitamin C and really noticed my skin has improved. Going back to my natural colour hair has improved the condition so much.

Want: teeth whitening, facials and to tone up my jawline somehow (any tips??)

Summerdew · 14/07/2024 20:22

Laser hair removal was the one thing that means my life is easier day to day as I don’t have to think about it, so glad I did it.
The one that made the most difference to how I feel about myself was my breast reduction last year, worth every penny.

Keratin treatment for my hair has transformed my life. I wish I had started it 20 years ago. I still have some frizz/flyaways but love the fact that I don't really have to think about my hair any more

Can you tell us a bit more about what you have done? I feel like a novice with hair. Thanks.

WeRateSquirrels · 14/07/2024 21:04

Tret
LED mask
Pilates
Cosmetic dentistry

MounjaroUser · 14/07/2024 21:11

@Arraminta did you ever try the eyebrow serum from UKBROW?

LaurieFairyCake · 14/07/2024 21:19

Aesplla

Someone literally mistook me for in my 30's after my third treatment (I'm 53)

LaWench · 14/07/2024 21:32

Lumea has hands down saved me hours of shaving and face plucking.

Good hairdresser for regular root colouring.

Hair styling, I like both the one step and babyliss big hair but have learned to embrace and enhance my natural 2a/2b waves every other wash with curl products and diffuser.

I do love a full body massage. Mostly I rate a good night's sleep and lots of water for wellbeing and beauty.

Beauty products, I don't spend a lot, happy with Aldi creams and mid range make up.

Are you sure it's Invisalign you don't like, rather than veneers? Invisalign is just a method of straightening your own teeth less obtrusively than metal braces; they're not going to be uniform, just less crooked. I'm interested if you have noticed something distinctive about the straightening people get with Invisalign compared to braces? I'm not a fan of veneers for the reason you mention though - they look too uniform and perfect for my taste. If I get my teeth straightened they're still going to be a bit worn and not perfectly matching white.
