If you wear a lot of All Saints would you say your style is edgy?

It high street, so no, I don't. Home made, vintage charity shop stuff is edgy. Used to wear my nans 1940s suits in the 80s. That was individual, which I class as edgy

I don’t think that’s a given to be honest.

It’s not about what you wear but how you wear it that conveys a ‘look’ in my opinion.

You can wear a 1940s suit (now or in the 80s) and look edgy or you can look like someone who dresses up and goes to conventions on the weekend (nothing wrong with that but it’s not edgy). You can wear something from primark or M&S and if you accessorize it right it can still look edgy.

I would say it’s not that edgy to walk into a shop and walk out with an outfit from head to toe. It can be a bit contrived looking. Far better to play around with different “ high / low” elements from different sources…. Which might be from a charity shop / high street / grandads wardrobe. Finding an authentic look is quite difficult I think but it’s good fun playing around.

🎶 I'll wear your granddad's clothes
I look incredible
I'm in this big-ass coat
From that thrift shop down the road 🎶

Sorry couldn't resist.

All Saints edgy -nah

I used to wear a lot of All Saints, and still buy quite a lot. I wouldn’t say their pieces are edgy these days really, maybe years ago but they have gotten a bit cliched now.

Yes we all were when we were wearing it in 2006. The leather jackets, parachute dresses and the like.

So who is edgy? DD is desperate to be edgy and vaguely punk but I'm struggling to know where to shop...

Has she looked at EMP?

Are you anywhere near London? Camden ain't what it used to be but it's still the best place for alternative clothes. My DC love a day out there.

EMP | Music, Movie, TV & Gaming Merch | Alternative Clothing

No it's not, it's middle of the road and going for older dynamic imo.

Depends on price point. Drop dead Clothing, mingalondon, Jaded London, are all great for alt clothing or an edgier vibe. These mix great with bits from the high street.

Really high end Prada, Vivienne Westwood Alexander McQueen.

Cheap and cheerful Shein, Asos, Boohoo, Blue Banana, Emp and the bargain bins at HMV.

HoneyDragon · 09/07/2024 23:59

Absolutely NOT All Saints though. Nope.

namechangefandango · 10/07/2024 15:31

I like their leather jackets but the rest of the stuff is a bit try hard.
Makes me think of the place Next shoppers go to when they have a bit more money and want to be more ‘fashion’.
is a Vivienne Westwood vibe to some of their wannabe edgier stuff and I don’t particularly like much of Westwoods clothes, too much like you found it at the bottom of the dirty laundry basket but at a premium price.
Allsaints is overpriced in the extreme for what it is.

GellerYeller · 10/07/2024 22:34

Does anyone remember when All Saints clothes were deliberately ‘holey’?!
I think it was edgier in the 90s, less so now.
