If you wear a lot of All Saints would you say your style is edgy?

Beyond wearing things like T shirts and general basics that they do

Just checked out the website, it just looks like a generic young style to me...not particularly 'edgy'.

(although judging from the models its for very skinny women who hate having their photo taken!!LOL).

I think the Pope carries it off O.K. and not many people say "OMG look at him, he's well edgy"

Not in my diocese, anyway.

Doggymummar · 09/07/2024 19:26

It high street, so no, I don't. Home made, vintage charity shop stuff is edgy. Used to wear my nans 1940s suits in the 80s. That was individual, which I class as edgy

JimNast · 09/07/2024 19:27

The Vicar rocks the look.

StrongandNorthern · 09/07/2024 19:32

Agree with PP (Doggymummar) -
High St not edgy ... at all.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 09/07/2024 20:11

I wear it quite a bit but don't think I'd describe it as edgy. My go to casual outfit is jeans with biker boots/hi tops & a band tshirt so pretty boring.
I intersperse with oversize all saints jumpers, leather jackets & the odd dresses if I'm going out.

StoatofDisarray · 09/07/2024 20:30

They stopped being edgy about 15 years ago!

Bohomovies · 09/07/2024 20:32

I think it’s slightly edgy, but I much prefer their stuff from 15+ years ago. I’ve still got some of it.

mynameiscalypso · 09/07/2024 20:34

Not at all. All Saints seems to be the preserve of middle-aged mums where I love (and I am proudly one of them!). My mum and a lot of her friends (all in their 70s) wear it too.

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/07/2024 20:37

So who is edgy? DD is desperate to be edgy and vaguely punk but I'm struggling to know where to shop...

Being a middle aged mum or over 70 doesn't preclude being edgy. It's not the preserve of youth. Although All Saints isn't.

mynameiscalypso · 09/07/2024 20:41

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle Agreed, but surely one of the implications of looking edgy is that you don't look like every single other person and have a style that sets you apart? All Saints is so mainstream that it feels like it can't be edgy.

I'm not quibbling that All Saints isn't edgy. I'm quibbling why you needed to add it was the preserve of middle aged mums, as if it's a given that demograhic won't wear anything edgy.

THANKS!

mynameiscalypso · 09/07/2024 20:57

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle I didn't phrase it very well - I meant that me and everyone else in my social circle wears it. I rephrased what I wrote originally when I was composing it because it didn't quite make sense but I can see that I then lost a key point (about it being a 'mass' thing in my social circle, as it is with my mum and her friends) in my redrafting. Thank you for picking me up on it; it's a very valid point and one that's totally on me for poor communication

Sethera · 09/07/2024 20:58

They used to be very edgy in the late 90s/00s. I have some vintage items I love that sadly I am too fat for now but can't bear to chuck.

Their contemporary stuff doesn't seem to have the same edgy vibe.

Hotgirlwinter · 09/07/2024 20:58

All saints def not edgy. It’s certainly less frou frou and focuses on that sort of clean rock / boho vibe but last time I went in there they had soft pink suede biker jackets and dove grey full length silk cami dresses - hardly what any one could describe as edgy!

Divebar2021 · 09/07/2024 21:00

I would say it’s not that edgy to walk into a shop and walk out with an outfit from head to toe. It can be a bit contrived looking. Far better to play around with different “ high / low” elements from different sources…. Which might be from a charity shop / high street / grandads wardrobe. Finding an authentic look is quite difficult I think but it’s good fun playing around.

LlynTegid · 09/07/2024 21:02

I never ever thought that they were. Not that I can say I know where it is at, when it comes to fashion.

Thanks sorry, reading back I was a bit snippy, apologies.
