What the heck does Billie Eilish know about fragrance?

Was browsing after following another thread and see that Billie Eilish has a perfume, well 2 I suppose because the one I found was Billie Eilish 2!!

She's hardly the first celeb to bring out a fragrance, they've been doing it for years

Why does she need to know about fragrance before she brings pullout?

I guess I knew this, I just hate it so.

I liked it when musicians were about music and didn't have to become a whole brand to boot.

Even before that there were Liz Taylor's perfumes.

This isn't a new thing.

Liz Taylor had been making movies for about 50 years at that point and was a screen legend. Billie Eilish is a child whose brother is pretty good at recording and promoting music.

You seem weirdly angry at Billie Eilish, who is not a child and has something like 8 Grammys and 2 Oscars for songs/albums she has joint writing/composition credits on (with her brother) and performs so I don’t think her brother can quite take all the credit there…

I follow a lot of perfume reviewers on Instagram, people who have access to very niche and some very high end fragrances and they rate the Billie Eilish perfume quite highly.

Do you remember when Peter Andre and Katie Price were forever bringing out fragrances? I went to Bluewater shopping centre and there was a huge queue of people - hundreds - waiting to meet him and buy his fragrance.

My daughter has an Ariana Grande perfume and it's very nice.

I can't imagine wanting to smell like a particular celebrity.

Celebrity perfumes are some of my favourites . Not sure what that says about me . Most are white label though, they go to a factory and pick a scent and put their name to it.

The physical product is usually made by a fragrance manufacturer like Coty or Elizabeth Arden .

Britney Spears has several perfumes, they are still popular.

Ariana Grande’s Cloud is lovely.

Because they've been a brand rather than a person for longer than you think (it's just called memorabilia) - and even that ignores the name bands like The Glenn Miller Band or suchlike.

She probably knows as much about perfume, as David Beckham knows about Whisky, Gary Barlow knows about wine, or Mylene Klass knew about baby clothes. They are basically offered stuff to put their name to.
I can't see why I'd be more likely to buy Gary Barlow wine or Billy Eilish perfume but it's obviously a marketing ploy that works.

As an aside now people buy far fewer physical cds etc, then artists will be looking to make more money elsewhere (although they've done it with perfume for literally decades! My neighbour bought me a Katie Price fragrance at least 10 years ago)

My auntie had Shirley Temple roller skates in the thirties or forties. I don’t think Shirley was ever a roller derby champ.
