Wedding Guest - Appropriate?!

I've bought this Club L London cape style midi dress (in navy) with the view to wearing it at an upcoming October wedding.

Not sure if:

a.) the dress is at all wedding guest appropriate?

b.) this amazing headpiece would work with the dress?! (or is it way too over the top?!)

c.) if positive responses to both of the above - do I just wear gold strappy sandals, or pick a shoe colour?

Wedding is a cousin of DH's, so the last thing I want to do is look to draw attention, and I know the cape style is a bit dramatic in itself?! But I've two babies, and struggling to find the fun in my style again.

Will be a fairly large wedding at a family run hotel local to bride and groom.

Both are gorgeous. I think I’d pick out one of the colours in the headband for the shoe colour.

I love the dress it's fabulous but not keen on the headband, the colours are great but I just don't think it goes with the Cape styling of the outfit, the cost is outrageous too imo.

I love the dress - it looks like the perfect choice for an October wedding. Love the idea of the headband too, to glitz everything up, but that price!! It looks like a very expensive piece so if you love it, why not? However, there are other options especially if you don't think you will get value per wear? Very similar headband on etsy for £35, £375 for a headband is insane.

Oooh I love it! The dress is gorgeous and love the headband too. I’d go for a pair of pointed toe high heels in a bright colour
I think I’m going to buy that dress in the plum colour (to go with rose gold heels)just in case I have a party or wedding to go to

Different colour but I wore a cape dress & statement headband to a wedding & got sooo many compliments- even in the service station loos we stopped at on the way !! Honestly it’s such a classic look you can’t go wrong.

also think you can never be overdressed for a wedding ! I think it’s a compliment to b&g to make an effort

Thanks all. I am struggling with justifying the cost of the headband. But do absolutely love it, and just can't see anything on Etsy that looks anywhere close to as nice / doesn't look super cheap!

Have you had a look on Etsy? I can't link it but they have a similar one for a much more reasonable price.

This headband would go well with those shoes for a fraction of the price. There's two colours in the link but the last one is aqua blue stones.

Hmm. I think, from the jewel headbands, I just can't see any that I like anywhere near as much as the original one, which I just adore!

I did see these Isabel Manns silk options I quite liked, at about £50 each? What do we think?

I like the RH Isabel Manns option, if you have the colouring for it OP. And the LH one is def fine. But your original choice was perfect!

The headband is stunning, if you can get 20% off and you can afford it then I think you should go for it. It’s tons nicer than any of the alternatives people have suggested. I want it now and have nowhere at all to wear it!
