Evening, Frugal! How's Hottie Haakon?

We Irish call the airing cupboard the Hot Press, which seems strangely fitting 😉

Imagine the frothing from the British tabs at Julian's face pulling if he was BRF child!

Royal Ascot gets underway today. I'll be posting the carriage lists each day on this thread if anyone wants to discuss outfits, etc. Lists usually come out at about midday with the procession itself at 2pm on ITV.

Royal Ascot gets underway today with the King and Queen expected to attend, though it's yet to be confirmed if they will be there every day. Last yea...

Thanks CaveMum. That's great - apart from the main RF members, I seldom know who's who in the carriages. Looking forward to the fashion.

CaveMum · 18/06/2024 13:04

Carriage list now up on t’other thread. If you can watch the procession they usually have a social bod who can give background info on the lesser known participants.

Some lovely dresses at Ascot but the top of Eugenie’s is not flattering.

People have possibly seen this, but there's a lovely piece of film for Father's Day in tribute to Prince Philip.
Very endearing. He was also a very handsome man!

It's a lovely montage but I can't help being amused by the way Prince Philip handles a baby as if it might be an exploding bomb. Grin
Times have changed, even for Royals, so no criticism when I say "there's a man who never changed a nappy or did skin to skin".

Love this picture of Zara - great dress and fab hat, she looks really beautiful.

I think he was playing squash when Charles was born!

Gorgeous picture of Zara. Normally I don't like pouffy sleeves, but she looks lovely.

Here’s a better look at Eugenie’s dress.
Anne’s hat doesn’t seem to match the rest of her outfit at all.

Zara looks great - she's in her happy place at Ascot and the picture of her greeting The King is lovely.

I really liked Lady Gabriella Windsor's outfit and so nice to see her there after the year she's had.

I don't know what to say about Anne's outfit except that it's so very 'her'. 😊

That's the best I've seen Zara look in a long while - great make up too. h

Maireas · 18/06/2024 19:20

Birgitte looks nice in blue, but I'm not sure why she's brought a basket? Maybe she has a thermos and some sausage rolls. 👍
Eugenie's dress has a strange top to it, not flattering.
How lovely to see Lady Gabriella, it's nice that the family are obviously providing some support.
Anne's mixing the palette up there, but I rather like it.

Anne really looks like Queen Mary there, doesn’t she?

Eugenie’s dress is dreadful - definitely a case of something looking better on a hanger!

Runningupthecurtains · 18/06/2024 19:24

As a total Anne of Green Gables fan Zara's sleeves fill my heart with joy. As I'm over blessed in the bussom department I can't wear a puffy sleeve but they always make me happy when someone else wears them.

Papergirl1968 · 18/06/2024 19:32

Meaning Albert and Charlene plus twins were welcoming the Olympic torch to Monaco.
And Max was reopening a museum following refurbishment. The Daily Mail waxed lyrical, describing her as “rosy in red” while wearing a dress with a ruffled cow neck - assume they meant cowl - and ruby red slippers, which puts me in mind of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. 😂

Those twins are gorgeous aren't they?
I'm just going to say that Albert's outfit does nothing for him....
Thank goodness for Max!

A question on hat tilt etiquette...

I noticed when looking at Kate's past TTC outfits at the weekend that whenever she wears a hat with a tilt it is always tilted down at her right (left as you look at her photos) with the flowers tucked under the high side on the left. So I thought that was the done thing on all tilted hats.

Today Zara is wearing a hat - which has no decoration so could be worn with either side (or none) tilted down - with the tilt at the left. She's worn enough hats to know how they should be worn. So does it not matter which way a hat is worn? There is a DM photo where all the ladies in the background are tilted down to the right. And another where she and Camilla are struggling to kiss cheeks because of hat clash.

So what is hat tilt etiquette?
