There is far too much over analysis of one photo. The King is unlikely to be looking at his best as he is still undergoing treatment. Many
photos shown him seemingly having a high old time in his role 🤷‍♀️

On another note, Edward seems to have bagged himself the most impressive feather. William’s looks like it’s making a bid for freedom 😆

I agree with the feather analysis! Charles' feather looks like it accidentally went through the wash!!!

That has tickled me (pun not intended 😆). It certainly looks as if it has had a hard life 😂😂

Did anyone else think the Order of the Thistle photo was a bit ridiculous ?

...as to Charles looking under the weather, apart from the very obvious reason (cancer treatment is draining), most people in their 70s have a relaxed hangdog/resting-bitch face due to gravity so unless we pin an insincere grin on all the time.....

Not really. It’s just tradition. Most of us “dress up” according to tradition on occasions - weddings, graduations (mortar boards aren’t exactly normal headgear) funerals, uniforms etc. So I think calling it “dressing up” is missing the point. It’s a link with tradition and the past. And it must be quite fun

eta meant to say as well, it’s no different from grown adults dressing up in sequins and feathers at a Taylor Swift gig or at Glastonbury 🤷‍♀️

I'm really hoping to see Kate at Wimbledon this year. Even just once. The speculation is swirling at the moment ... maybe for the final?

Maybe it is just my phone screen and the way the photo is cropped but Charles looks like his mum a lot now. Perhaps it is just his age.
I suppose the return to London must be annoying. Silly time for an election!
Edward and Sophie are in a good position now...lots of events to go to and increased seniority but not having to reign! They are excellent in their support role as far as I can see.

I know she's not royal, but I really liked Victoria Starmer's outfits both yesterday and today. V stylish!

Charles is normally really tanned all year round with all his outdoor hobbies. Now he's king, he's not in his gardens so much not stomping around. So I put his pallor down to his new job.

Yes, me! I can tolerate them only when they’re not all gussied up like a bunch of absolute twits.

Och it's tradition. Our armed forces all have gussied up outfits.

Going to three sons graduations, saw gussied up staff.

I am not Scottish so I would feel pretty uncomfortable declaring their uniforms, national dress etc. silly.

I think it looks fun as I said. If you look back at the coronation and also the proclamations of Charles as King they were some hilarious outfits if you analysed them, yet they managed to be taken entirely seriously. Dress doesn’t always have to be drab and boring or entirely practical. We all use it to convey messages as well which is what’s happening here. The world would be dull without seemingly pointless and impractical garb used during ceremonies. It’s not just our royals that do this nor is it confined to royal families in general

Spot on, @smilesy - I remember going to the Vatican and being most impressed by the Swiss Guard, that's some uniform.
Also, those Greek guards with the mini kilts and pom pom shoes. Very stylish!

Leti at the Madrid book fair. She's got some trouser suits I'm not keen on, but this one is lovely. Great cut and fit. Back to the Barefoot shoes. Love her earrings.

Leti looks fab @Maireas -loving her flat shoes these days. Agree with the excellent fit of her suit.

I like Letizia's suit but her green top is horrid.
