Albert and Charlene both look happy and relaxed at the Civil Ceremony, maybe not so much pressure. Charlene looks so pretty in that colour, although I don't like the frill at the bottom.
Normally men look good in military uniforms, they're generally enhancing, but for some reason, not Albert. I've said it before, but he always manages to look as if he's in a Gilbert and Sullivan opera. I'm not sure if it's the cut, fit, or wrong colour somehow?.

The lace bit on the bottom of the jumpsuit was a bit odd. Overall I think it was the perfect outfit for her though, she really suited it.

I think on Albert it’s because the bottom button of a uniform always seems to sit on the widest part of him. So nothing continues drawing the eye down. It just emphasises the worst bit for him.

I think Alfred would look more streamlined if his uniform jacket and trousers were the same colour.
I thought Fred, Mary and kids looked like they were posing for a catalogue too. Go Outdoors or something 😂

PoppySeedBagelRedux · 01/07/2024 20:51

Albert would look so much better if he lost some weight. He had small features that get lost in the size of his face.

Papergirl1968 · 01/07/2024 22:29

Alfred? Albert, I meant!

Royal garden party at Holyroodhouse.

I like Max's outfit! White is a bit of a change, it's nice though. Camilla sticking with a favourite shade and design, and it does work. I'm not keen on Sophie's dress, I don't think the fit is great. Love her hat, though.

Meanwhile Prince Pavlos of Greece took daughter Olympia to Wimbledon, and also shared a photo of himself with wife Marie-Chantel to mark their 29th wedding anniversary.
Other Wimbledon guests included the Spencer twins, who the Mail helpfully informs us are both 31, just in case there’s anyone out there who doesn’t realise twins are the same age. 🤔

Max's top puts me in mind of old fashioned rattan furniture painted white.

eggandonion · 02/07/2024 20:16

The Duke of Edinburgh is looking very smart.

I think Sophie's consistent problem is wearing dresses that are too long, by quite a few centimetres.

Maireas · 02/07/2024 20:18

She really does like ankle length.

I think I glimpsed the “hot equerry,” Jonny whatshisname, in the Mail coverage of the garden party and keys ceremony.

Maireas · 02/07/2024 20:21

Spencer twins: your trousers are too long, you'll get the hems dirty, and they're a trip hazard. Otherwise a nice look.

I fell in my bedroom a couple of weeks ago after one foot caught in the trouser leg of the other. Faceplanted the floor and now need physio for me knee which took my full weight. The only good thing is that I'm assuming my bones are in good nick as I didn't break any!

Maireas · 02/07/2024 20:26

No! @frugalkitty ! Poor you! Were you distracted by sounds from your airing cupboard?
Speedy recovery 💐

That's a lesson to us all on the perils of long trousers @frugalkitty. Hope you're okay.

Papergirl1968 · 02/07/2024 20:33

Here’s Jonny, especially for his fans.

Sadly not, Maireas I was charging about sorting washing and ironing and decided to put my phone on charge. In a split second I went from upright to flat on the floor but knew enough to not hit my head on the way down. No Hottie to comfort me either, I had to summon hubby home from squash 😂

Thank you. I'm seeing a physio tomortow as I have fluid on my knee and it's still ouchy. Sadly, my favourite summer trousers are in the charity bag. Just glad it was on carpet and not the kitchen floor or the stairs.

Maireas · 02/07/2024 20:37

Well. Lesson learned! Also about Hottie Haakon, but that's a whole other story.

We are seven pages in, so not too premature to suggest new thread title featuring an Ode To A Hot Equerry & Other Stories
